KAYAK.co.uk picks up your taxes for all flights to Panama
Tax havens for the rich, what about the rest of us?
We’ve all read the headlines by now. Ousted prime ministers, celebrities running scared, and there’s certainly more bad news for the filthy rich coming when the full extent of the leak is exposed. Was your favourite footballer or supermodel living large while dodging the tax man in Panama? Did the politician that you cast your vote for get a little too loose with their accounting?
We’ll find out soon enough.
At KAYAK, we don’t think it’s fair that only the über rich get to be creative with their “tax savings”. That’s why we’ll be picking up the taxes for anyone that books a flight to Panama this week. It’s simple. You pay for the ticket, we pay all of your taxes. What’s more, it’s all legal, which means you don’t have to worry about the authorities knocking on your door.
KAYAK OFFER TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- This is an offer by KAYAK Europe GmbH, Fraumünsterstrasse 16, 8001 Zurich, Switzerland (“KAYAK”).
- This offer is only valid for residents of the United Kingdom that are at least 18 years of age and are not affiliated to KAYAK or its PR agencies.
- KAYAK reimburses the flight taxes for your flight from the UK to Panama under the conditions set out in these terms and conditions. Flight taxes are limited to government and airport charges (air passenger duty, security taxes, airport taxes), and expressly exclude any carrier imposed charges such as fuel surcharges and payment fees and the fare itself.
- Reimbursement requests must be sent to taxfreetopanama@kayak.com. The following conditions must all be fulfilled for a reimbursement: 1) your flight booking was made online between Wednesday, 06 April 2016 and Friday, 15 April 2016, 2) the booking is for a flight from an airport in the UK as the origin, to an airport in Panama as the final destination, 3) the booking is for a maximum of 2 tickets (if for more, only the taxes for 2 tickets are eligible for reimbursement), 4) you provide us a copy of your flight booking providing evidence of conditions 1 to 3 and breaking out the flight taxes, 5) you provide us with bank account or paypal account details to which we can make the reimbursement, 6) you can only submit one reimbursement request and 7) the total amount of all eligible reimbursement requests submitted to KAYAK has not exceeded £10,000.
- The time of receipt by KAYAK of the email requesting reimbursement and containing all necessary information and the booking confirmation will determine the order in which the requests are processed and the reimbursements made. As soon as the total amount of all eligible reimbursement requests submitted to KAYAK exceeds £10,000, this offer will automatically expire. In no event will KAYAK reimburse more than £10,000 in total.
- The offer will expire in any event on Friday, 15 April 2016, whether the total amount of £10,000 reimbursement requests has been reached or not.
- The flight bookings can be made anywhere; in particular, it is not required that the flights were searched using KAYAK. KAYAK does not endorse any specific online travel agency or any specific airline in connection with this offer.
- By submitting a reimbursement request, you are permitting KAYAK and its appointed agents to use your personal details for the purposes of administering this offer. KAYAK’s privacy policy will apply.
- KAYAK reserves the right to refuse reimbursement to any participant that it believes, in its sole discretion, to be in breach of these terms and conditions. This includes performing flight bookings solely for the purpose of obtaining the reimbursement under this offer without real intent to fly to Panama.
- To the fullest extent permissible by law, KAYAK disclaims all responsibility for and shall not be liable for any failure to notify, damage suffered, loss, costs, unexpected events, accidents and/or injuries which may occur to any participant in the course of participating in this offer, including travelling to Panama, however caused.
- Submitting a request for reimbursement constitutes your acceptance of these terms and conditions, which shall constitute the entire agreement between you and KAYAK as regards this offer. There shall be no legal recourse.
- This offer is governed by Swiss law. The sole place of jurisdiction for any disputes in connection with this offer is Zurich, Switzerland.
