KAYAK’s top tips for finding a cheap flight from London to Port Harcourt

  • When embarking on a flight from London to Port Harcourt, you will be in for quite a long journey. Relax ahead of time in London Heathrow (LHR) lounges, such as Plaza Premium or No1 Lounge, and get some work done, enjoy a meal and drinks and charge your devices for the trip.
  • When embarking on a journey with one or more layovers, it is advised that you wrap your luggage up to avoid interference with your belongings. All London airports offer this service for a small fee, and you can find the wrapping stations based at every departure terminal.
  • Lufthansa makes special arrangements for parents flying with infants. They keep special water for baby bottles on board, extra nappies and bassinets that can be used for babies to sleep during this long flight. Your stroller or car seat will be kept in the hold and the baby can have an extra bag of luggage in the cabin.
  • This journey often has two layover cities. Layovers may include Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, and while far more established an airport than Port Harcourt in terms of services, you will find that your options for shopping may be limited. If you have forgotten something important back in London, consider shopping during your first layover (in Europe), which is often Brussels or Frankfurt.
  • It is advisable when flying into certain African countries that you have specific vaccinations up to date, as you will get asked to show proof when you arrive at Port Harcourt International Airport (PHC). Yellow fever and polio are often mandatory. Please check with your local travel clinic before you fly to Nigeria.

Qatar was pretty OK for their services but Arangrant was awful at theirs and frankly lied to me. Qatar offers four business class fares and only three of them allow lounge access. This is a horrible policy when you pay so much for business class and shame on them for denying the simple use of their lounges for this confusion. When I requested my business class ticket with Arangrant I knew this and specifically told them I would only purchase the lowest class business seat that would still permit me lounge access on all legs of my trip. They lied to me and said I did and then I was refused this service on my return flights. I had no less than 4-8 schedule changes and got screwed by a late departure from DCA on my double connection to JNB. I lost nearly a full day on my outbound and then had little to no use of the lounges on my outbound flights. To then be denied access on my return flights made the 27 hour trip home pretty awful. Kayak should no longer work with Arangrant as they are dishonest and liars. Qatar should price all four of their business class fares to include lounge access and stop the insanity they have forced on people. My return trip home nearly ruined my entire trip to South Africa and I blame Arangrant for telling me lies and for Qatar for offering insane rules and regulations on such expensive business class fares. For the money I paid to Qatar, I did not receive the full services I was promised. I will probably never use Arangrant and their ignorant services ever again. I will question whether I ever fly on Qatar Airways again as well. When you pay so much and get such little in return, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Arangrant gives the whole industry a bad name and Qatar is not far behind them. I can honestly say that the wretched service and way I was treated by both have soured me on travel companies and airlines. It is bad enough that we have an idiot, felon, racist and bigoted president and administration to contend with while he has started an illegal war, I did not expect to get screwed over by Arangrant and Qatar as well. Shame on all of you.

Very poor No information given to why we turned around.. No one at airport to help

Amazing airline accommodations. The cabins were so great. The food was very good and the flight attendants were so nice. Made a 15 hour flight seem easy.

Qatar Airways is an excellent service provider. The crew members were attentive and helpful. The aircraft was very clean. This was the longest leg of our journey, so it would have been nice to have more leg room for comfort. We appreciated the crew's service of four hot meals to all of us during this long flight. Also, it was helpful that the crew asked us to keep the window shades down for the entire journey, allowing the environment to get lots of rest during the trip. For families traveling with little children, this was helpful to them to keep them settled.

As good as you can expect an economy flight from Europe to Australia to be. Nothing agains Qatar, just feels like every new generation of plane gets tighter.

Lobster starter in business class was not good, tough, served cold, and without butter. Movie selection was missing latest releases, did not offer older classic, high quality movies

Boarding from DOH to SYD the Business Class were pointed in a separate gate but no one there to receive us. Otherwise it was ok.

My flight was delayed. I was rebooked twice and even the second flight that was additional connection in London was delayed too, so I ended up spending more than 24 hours flying between four different countries and to be honest I’m not sure whether I ever want to use this airline again. My luggage is still delete. It’s been more than 48 hours now so to be honest, I’m not even sure how to describe the level of frustration I have.

I would love the entertainment center to be updated with more content. The flight to Doha had more options than the one to Miami

The flight was operated by IndiGo and not Qatar, which is a budget airline from India. Nevertheless, the flight was uneventful.

Never took the flight due to strikes which happens but there was no timely coordination to find me new flights. I had to call Lufthansa and Kayak support only to be given no good options and a 75% refund. Ended up spending way more for alternative flights that I coordinated myself for a trip I had booked 6 months prior.

Flight map did not work. Crew was great, food was good, plane took off on time and landed early. That's all I can ask.

This flight was on time but since I missed the connecting flight I didn’t get my seat upgraded I paid for

Paid for exit row at the back of the plane. Window seat with lots of leg space. Food was inedible (as usual). Brought my own.

Efficiency of staff, and comfort and cleanliness of aircraft was all great. Maybe a hot drink without payment at that time in the morning would be good!

Poor food on flight between Toronto and Stockholm Airport Toronto too crowded

The plane was late (as was my flight out from Birmingham the day before)

Flight delays made me miss my connections. I almost missed my connecting flight because I had to get my luggage and go through immigration and then back into the airport. Connecting flight said it would be my problem if I missed it. I had to be rerouted through another city and came in 3 hours later than expected and had to hire an uber to get me home when I had everything planned out

The flight was delayed by an hour. Made the connection uncomfortably tight.

I pre-ordered my meal and did not receive it. The seats are very old, uncomfortable and dirty. The crew was excellent and made my stay on board comfortable and enjoyable.

Good food. Conscientious staff. That said they need more training on setting up the bassinet.

They should have better communication and dealings with their customer when their flight is delayed or canceled.

It was a nightmare of an experience. The station manager was very unprofessional dealing with an over 5 hour delay and even boarding the flight was a nightmare with 3 plane loads of passengers on other cancelled flights trying to push and shove to get in the one i boarded.

Smooth process. No delay. Need to improve the AC during boarding.
