The room was small. You could hardly move around in the bath room. The previous reviews were excellent. I don't know how the ratings were so good. The place is the worst place I have stayed at. There is no way this is a 3 star hotel. The hotel was previously a gay bath facility.
The attention to detail was amazing at this hotel. The guestroom, the pool area and breakfast area was perfect. The property is well taken care of and it is close to everything. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Fort Lauderdale.
No.This hotel should be given more than the three star rating that is has been given. The attention to detail is unbelievable. The room, pool and breakfast area were spotless. Walt greeted us when we came and showed us around the property. Nice personal touch. I would stay here again when visiting Fort Lauderdale. Unfortunately we could only stay one night but next time would love to stay longer. I would recommend this guesthouse to all our friends and family.

Proximity to shops and ship and price.
We were very disappointed that our booked and paid for room was given away and we ended up at a 'sister' hotel. We had informed the hotel we would be arriving late.I booked single beds and we were given a queen sized bed.
Great staff. Friendly, hostel-style stay.
Room cleanliness was just okay. Had a garden level suite. I expected there would be some insects and there were. Not sure much could be done about that, being in Florida in a garden suite. You get what you would expect from the accommodations. Cleanliness isn't the best, but the price is cheap for the area. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It's an experience, for sure. If I was young and traveling with buddies, or older and looking to vacation on the cheap, Bridge at Cordova would be just fine.

Staff was very friendly. My boyfriend and I stayed there for 3 days but I don't recall housekeeping knocking on the door. The room was clean but the bathroom not so much. I could actually hear the people staying in the room next to us.
If you want to pay for your hotel and be denied checking in because the owner isn't on property and 'just feels like it', than this is the hotel for you. If you want to stay at a hotel that stands by the high regard that Expedia usually represents than say away! We had to call the police after 2 hours of attempting to check in. The office was closed and the emergency phone number provided to call if you need assistance wasn't answered. We had to sleep in our cars, in a different parking lot, because the 'free parkng' that the hotel provides is a tow away zone. Don't forget that this 'beach front resort' is 2 blocks away in a not so great neighborhood.

Overall a nice place to stay. Although the place is showing its age, they are on top of maintenance and the room was absolutely spotless. When most guest houses are moving towards the high end with 500 thread count sheets and marble baths (and charging accordingly), the Cheston reminded me of Lauderdale guesthouses 10 or 15 years ago. It was a good value for the rate I had. I didn’t have a chance to spend a lot of time relaxing on the grounds, but I did notice the pool was nice and warm (in the upper 80’s) and perfect for winter swimming. The place seemed to attract a friendly clientele and the owners and staff were very friendly and helpful as well.
A great spot, close to the beach. Pleasant, private pool and gardens. The staff are accommodating and attentive.
