Car Rental

You have many options if you are interested in renting a car at the Lisbon airport. They include: AA Castanheira/Budget, Auto Jardim, Avis, Europcar, Hertz, National/Alamo/Guérin and Sixt/Auro. All of the rental car companies are located in the atrium of the arrivals hall. Driving in Lisbon is very difficult, so unless you plan to explore outside of the city, it's probably best to stick with public transportation or taxis.

Public/Ground Transfer

Though there is a metro system in Lisbon, it does not currently go to and from the airport. However, there is a bus, the Aerobus CARRIS No. 91, that runs between the center of Lisbon and the airport every 20 minutes from 7:45 AM to 8:15 PM every day. It will only cost you 3.10 Euros. There are also several other buses that can get you into the city: 5, 22, 44, 45 and 83.

Airport Shuttles

There are private shuttle services, also known as airport transfers, that you can book in advance. These shuttle services operate on a fixed rate that is often pre-paid and can be arranged as shared rides with other passengers or as private shuttles. They are also a good option for large groups.

Limousine Services

If you're looking for a more luxurious ride to and from the airport, many of the airport transfer services also offer VIP or limousine services. As with any other limousine service, you'll pay a fixed rate, be greeted at the airport by your driver and taken directly to wherever you wish to go.

Taxi Services

There are two taxi stands at the Lisbon airport. One is outside at the arrivals hall and the other is outside the departures hall. Rates to Lisbon vary, depending on the traffic, but will probably run around 10 Euros. Keep in mind that there is a 20% surcharge on nights after 9PM, weekends and holidays, as well as a 1.60 Euros baggage charge.
