Service in restaurants was terrible.. For breakfast , lunch and dinner.. $28.00 for pasta with peas that they call chefs special was the size of a small appetizer.. Room was nice but old. Plumbing did not work to good.. Cater to large groups. You have to wait for everything.. Very unhappy. Been going to hotel for 20 years..
I loved everything about this hotel, the staff was so kind and friendly. My boyfriend proposed to me here. It was pricey but you get what you pay for.
This is one of the nicer full service hotels on the island with most immenties. But It sorely needs an update, it's very dated and generally dirty. They aren't quite as on point service-wise as they should be. But with all that said, for the price it's the best value you're probably going to get. I'm sure once they do remodel, it will be unaffrodable.
Everyone is so nice and helpful. The place is clean and beautiful. The food is wonderful.
The hotel is very nicely located on the island of Bermuda. You are a short taxi trip away from the Naval Dockyard and the hotel offers a free ferry shuttle to Hamilton. Beaches are incredible and the restaurants are very good (Bocci had the best food and Ocean Ridge had amazing beach/ocean views). Shuttles to various parts of the hotel grounds were clean and readily available. My husband and I were there on our honeymoon and decided to get massages one day. We can both honestly say that the massages weren't that good for the price you pay. My massage therapist was very rushed in her movements and I never felt really relaxed. Spa facilities were very clean and quite impressive.
The location was beautiful It was ridiculously expensive...everything was an extra. As a couple , we spent as much on food as we did on the room. ( and we didn't eat breakfast). They even charged for the use of old snorkeling equipment.
The location of the hotel was very convenient to top notch restaurants (Henry VIII, The Waterlot, Blu, Lido). Two are 1 minute away and the other two were less than 5 mins by taxi. The fact that you can rent mopeds on property was perfect. The tennis courts were $15 per hour for us as a couple to play, which was reasonable I thought. The fact that you pay for extras a la carte is annoying. The cost of drinks at "The Dock" at The Waterlot, effectively an on property establishment and their private beach was totally annoying. Considering the beach next door was half the cost sort of indicates to me they could easily charge 20% less and still make a killing.
The staff are warm and friendly and efficient. Every greeting feels genuine and warm. I love the south side and that part of the island for its beaches and the trolley is so easy to catch at hotel and gets you to great beaches and to ferry to Hamiltin. You are away from everything but can get anywhere easily. I lived in the hotel in the 80's performing in a show that use to be there and remembered as so beautiful and friendly and was so excited to return 32 years later to find that same Bermudian kindness and joy.
Beautiful hotel and grounds. Delicious food. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Views and staff. Not children friendly, very hilly and nothing for them to do. Expensive, the prices are close to very upscale NY restaurant.
The location is breathtaking. The beach is beautiful and private. The staff is very friendly and they make you feel at home. The spa is beautiful and the service was wonderful. Looking forward to our next visit.
Stayed there with wife and infant for destination wedding, got a great price off a third party sure (much cheaper than the hotel website) but still got a huge room with patio directly out to the pool. I also saw the grotto bay (for a BBQ after the wedding) and would highly recommend paying a little extra to stay at rosewood. A bit pricy, but you get what you pay for...
Less than 5 minutes from the airport. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Room large, clean and comfortable with an excellent view of the bay. Food in restaurants were good. Not great but good enough. Bus stop a short walk down the drive. Scooter rental just outside the grounds. Bus passes gained access to all buses and ferries which will get one to any part of the islands easily. Bathroom was small. Grounds were well removed from Hamilton, the Dockyards and elsewhere. One needed to take 20 minute bus ride or the more expensive taxi to get anywhere.
The pool was enjoyable as were the natural cave attractions Food was mediocre, no room service, long walk from room to other ammenities, room was outdated, advertised free wifi but it never worked, no ice near room
Food was good. Wish they had more Caribbean food. Menus are more Americanized This time of year the high is like 68-70 so it got very cold some days and jacuzzi wasn't working
the location, the littke jakussi, so quiet, the way it is all situated, the view from the room
proximity to beach nice cove. Lots to rent at dive shop boat, kayaks, snorkel gear, etc. Staff except for pool bar staff were very friendly. Food is lousy. Bar service at pool terrible waited 26 minutes for a drink at 2PM. Outdated...grounds dirty. outdoor seating DIRTY. Gave me wrong room key, walked in on another couple embarrassing. caves littered with garbage, towels, napkins, straws, empty beer bottles. Rooms outdated.
Everything. Staff, rooms, beach, location, price and view Beach bar closes too early.
The staff were friendly and eager to see we enjoyed ourselves. The hotel beach on the bay is convenient, nice, and uncrowded. We used the bus pass to explore the island, and found people very helpful, and interested in providing a great tourist experience. The island people clearly want to earn our tourist business. Give them a try, they earned it.
The room was confrontable and the staff were so nice. The quality of the food was mediocre for the price I paid.
The staff was very friendly My room was horrible. It didn't seem clean, needed painting, the shower was awful, water got all over
Hi quality/ friendly/ green/ short taxi ride from airport/ beuatiful
We enjoyed the beautiful view and the waterfront location. Also, we were able to walk to the Crystal Caves, The Swizzle Inn and Baileys Ice Cream. Bus stop at entrance enabled us to traverse Bermuda with ease by bus and ferry. We did not take the all inclusive food plan because we were out all day and wanted to try different dining experiences. That worked out well.
We loved the scenic aspect, beautiful views. I absolutely loved being able to come out and sit in the lawn chairs and see Bermuda. We really liked how central it was to everything. We also loved the caves and plan to come back when it's warmer so we can swim in them! Wish we were told more about the all inclusive aspect of the resort. Had no idea until our last day there when we saw a sign telling us about it. Financially, it's not smart to stay there unless you are apart of the all inclusive package.
Location is perfect. New pool awesome The first room I was given was looking out at employee parking lot when my itinerary stated room was next to new pool seems to always happen when you book through travel sites
The staff were very friendly, helpful, and courteous. The hotel is very convenient for walking to town/shops and to the ferry terminal. The food at the new Marcus Samuelson restaurant was very good. The hotel was under renovations and this was not made apparent when booking the hotel. The construction work started quite early every day - including Sunday. Overall, the hotel is very nice but not as luxurious as expected for the price.
Marcus restaurant, Pool. Small rooms. Expensive for what they offer. Not great service. Ran out of towels and chairs at the beach of their sister property.
I loved the staff--so genuine and professional. We were in a cottage with a lovely view. Who could ask for a better sunrise AND sunset. Our dinner was delicious, too. Breakfast was that wonderful, generous English buffet. Who has a croquet court anymore?
The friendly staff, gorgeous setting, and fresh and fabulous food were superb. We must especially compliment the staff at the amazing Breezes restaurant. Sebastian, Bhora, and John made us feel so welcome. And nowhere else on the island can you dine with your toes in the sand, waves a few feet from your table, under a canopy of stars. Fabulous!
If you are looking for a quiet upscale place to stay in Bermuda you must consider Rosedon. It's a hidden oasis right in Hamilton. Easy walking to shops and restaurants. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms and grounds very clean. The gardens are beautiful. We would definitely return. Was not a concern for us, but no restaurant or bar on premises. They do provide an honor bar in the main building though and plenty of places within walking distance.
Close to airport Filthy. Garbage had not been emptied. There were crumbs on the floor. And when we moved the couch to watch TV the floor was filthy. No batteries in the either of the remote control in the living room. shower provided just more than a trickle of water. Cab driver warned me to lock all doors when we go out. Such a waste. We were staying only one night prior to our flight home. Otherwise we would have moved hotels.
The facility was fantastic (one bedroom apt with king sized bed) and in every room we had a breath-taking ocean side view! Staff was hands off, but very helpful when we needed something. We took a dip in the pool every morning and the area was very quiet and secluded. Right next to a bus stop as well! We cannot wait to come back! This is not a "dislike," but more of a suggestion. The hotel felt more like a timeshare, which is what we wanted. We had a full kitchen to cook food and received clean towels daily- otherwise it was very independent.
