I don't know why everyone seems to care that this hotel doubles as a college dorm, what the other people staying in the hotel are doing is really no one's business?? The room was great, the front desk staff were amazing(seriously), and the college kids weren't doing anything remotely disruptive. Would definitely stay here again!!
They provided shuttle service. However, there were times when the shuttle never came back to get me. I had to catch a ride back to the hotel despite the shuttle dropping me off and promising to pick me back up from the convention center. This was a very important weekend for me and the last thing I needed to worry about was the logistics of my transportation.
Excellent location..... Friendly bad helpful staff
The staff was friendly, the guests were quiet and polite all hours, and the shuttle service was convenient and responsive. The drivers joked with us and they gladly came to pick us up wherever we found ourselves through town, which saved us plenty of money and navigation headaches. And the beds were insanely comfortable, which was an unexpected bonus for the price!
Having a fridge and microwave in the room would've been nice--the room pictured on the website featured one, and I knew that inexpensive meals were hard to come by in the area. We ended up having Publix subs every night and I would've preferred that we could supply our own meals.
Front desk staff was excellent. Had no issues so had no interaction with any of the other staff. This hotel is located at the far end of the riverwalk but close to everything. Walked everywhere.
The only problem was the parking. It was a very busy weekend and we couldn't find a parking spot. We were told to park out front and they were very apologetic so it was no big deal.
All the staff were great! Friendly, helpful, smiling faces all around. Rita at the Front Desk gave great advice and counsel. It was close to downtown and sights so we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to.
Florida (the entire state) has more bugs than I am used to in general (I'm from the desert) so be prepared to run into a few here and there. Not much the hotel can do about that, but be aware that they are there.
The Riverwalk was really pretty and got a shuttle right to the hockey area!
How to get to the pool was not convenient.
Bit outdated, slow service
The location & the view of the river
My room door's key swipe did not work. When I complained about it, the staff said I needed a security guard to escort me to my room. It wasn't a user error. It happened to take 35 swipes the next day to get back into our room. I don't appreciate being talked down to when I'm just trying to voice a problem with your hotel's hardware!
City and river views were beautiful. Very close to everything downtown.
Things were clean but a bit dated. But it was priced exceedingly fair so no complaints.
The location is amazing.
Cleanliness wasn't there. Thank goodness we had two beds. One of our beds sheets were stained and dirty, and there was change under the bed, so we know it wasn't clean. The other head board was just dirty. I would love to see this hotel receive a full room refresh. There is so much potential.
The staff at the front desk were very welcoming and helpful. The location was perfect since we were visiting the Univ. Of Tampa and they had a shuttle service. The pool was large and overlooked the river. This was our 5th college trip and this was our best hotel yet!
Evidently the fire alarm went off while I was in the shower, but the alarm was not working on our floor. Luckily, it was a false alarm!
The lobby looked great.
The rooms had a coat of bright yellow paint slapped on. The linen was old as was mattress. The rooms need a proper renovation from top to bottom. Everything old, and not really clean. TV reception was terrible. Location was a bit away from things. I would not recommended this hotel. Margaret
Room was a great value, especially considering the location. Relatively short walk to city center, arena, and convention center area.
Hotel shows its age a bit and room was nothing great--basic stuff, but clean and comfortable. Was very quiet, but I could hear the TV in the adjacent room at times.
Nice lobby and bar. Helpful staff. Good location for walking to downtown or going to U-Tampa.
Hotel shows its age in places, such as the sleeping room doors. Bathroom had a large basin on top of the counter to serve as a sink. It was very uncomfortable to get my arms over the edge of the basin and then get my hands down into the water. A regular sink in the counter would work better.
Great location since we were only there for the Gasparilla race.
It took over 30 minutes to check in and when we got to the room it smelled of cigarette smoke. There appeared to be mold where the wall meets the carpet under the window and there were several stray hairs in the bathroom. Before booking this reservation I read that the hotel went through recent renovations. From what I saw, that just meant someone slapped on a coat of paint and not very neatly.
Central location allows easy access to anywhere in the city you may need to be.
Parking is almost nonexistent, ended up at a parking garage 3 blocks away. Room was old and in need of repair. Cracked sink in the bathroom. More of a dorm than a hotel.
The location was ok. Right downtown but not a lot of places to eat within walking distance.
My online check in text said my room was ready at 3 o'clock but when I got there at 4 o'clock they said my room was not ready. I also booked a room with a king size bed. But all they had was two queen size bed. My bathroom was leaking from the ceiling.
I hate to give bad reviews... It smelled like cigarettes when we walked in the lobby and looked like a shady sort of place... I booked it last minute thru Kayak (app) and had some difficulty checking in. The two staff ladies were nice enough and the view from the room was good but that's all I can say. It felt like a dirty place trying to come clean. Maybe in the future it will be better?
