The hotel was beautiful and centrally located. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Free use of bicycles was a big plus. We would have liked to have had the bathroom away from the window and we didn't like to have to call guest services for ice, but other than that, it was a wonderful experience.
Ric from Atlanta Labor Day Weekend 5 Days After reading the reviews, I booked Opus for a long weekend, having never been to Vancouver, I was thrilled with my decision! Location, location, location!! Steps from the waterfront park system, fantastic dining, shopping, and easy city walking. Beautiful, friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable staff. I booked an upgraded room, King Deluxe Studio, large, comfortable, and very quiet. Next time, after viewing, I will book an Executive Suite, very large, and worth the extra bucks! On their website they have bikes available, we used them every morning, another great touch! Of the many boutique hotels I have stayed in, this is by far, my new favorite! I was a little leary about the weekend DJ situation in the lounge, no problem, in fact it added a whole new dimension to the overall experience!

This hotel was an excellent value for money one. I even got an upgrade without asking for it and don't even knowing why to a king-size room with hydro-massage bath tub. The staff was extremely helpful and willing to make one's stay pleasant and flawless. Even if some people in the reviews complain about the pub, I didn't hear anything from the second floor. Even more, the inside door linking the pub with the hotel was an advantage given the snow/rain during my stay.
Complimentary breakfast was missed.
It was perfect for what we were looking for. We didn't intend to stay in the hotel for anything more than sleep, so we just wanted a clean, well-maintained hotel with a central location in downtown. It was by a wide margin the best hotel I could find in this price range. The staff was incredibly friendly and always willing to help you find where you are going.
The room was small and the hotel didn't offer many extras, though that wasn't important to us anyway. The internet was far from "high speed" (about 2 Mbps at best) but for what I hear, thats about average in BC.

My hotel room was comfortable and the manager was very helpful and friendly. I was able to walk to all my events at the QE theater and the rogers arena. My shutttle bus picked me up across the street for my whale watching tour. My only complaint was there was no printer in the computer room to print off my boarding pass so i had to leave early for the airport. That said it was just a few vlocks to yaletown station to catch the train to the airport so i didn't have to pay hefty cab fees. It was 10 dollars round trip to the airport and back. Once again the manager named lucille was very nice. I would go back again!
The front desk check-in with Vincent was not a pleasant experience. He was very hard to hear and understand, was not friendly, actually quite rude, no eye contact. When handed our credit card, he did not hand it back, merely tossed it on the counter and not even in front of the person who handed it to him. He gave no instructions on how to use the room key card to operate the elevator. When we complained about his behavior to the Manager when we were checking out, she was indeferent and almost defended him and did not apologize to us. The worst part of the experience was the room itself. The double bed sagged in the middle and it felt like sleeping in a bowl. The floors squeaked from the floor above and in our room. There were no face cloths, even when we asked. They did supply shampoo and conditioner when we asked. The maid left the window open after cleaning the room and we found it cold and damp upon our return that evening. The only prompt service we got was kicking us out of the r...

Quality for the price and location. It's a euro-style hotel with the shared bathrooms at the end of the hall, community kitchen, small cozy rooms. It looks dated, it's very appropriate for the solo traveler trying to save money.
Parking in the back was very difficult in the rear of the building. They offer spots for rent, but the parking spots are painted very small. I had a Hyundai Sonata and there was maybe 12 inches on each side, clearance. This hotel was surprising good. Upon arrival the hotel looks dated and worn, all the paint, fixtures, furniture, etc. is mismatched, but upon closer inspection, the staff kept everything very clean. The kitched and bathrooms were very well kept and there were no signs of bugs or pests (ie. bedbugs, mice, etc.). Also, there weren't signs if pests being an issue, like mouse traps or the such. The room I stayed in was pieced together with an older non-flat screen television, bed, sink, drawers, mini fridge a...
Not expensive, clean, fairly quiet inside
My room was on the street. Its windows were in extremely poor condition. They were not closing properly. At night the street was very noisy, there is at least one night club very near the hotel. It was like camping in the middle of the street. The hotel is well situated downtown Vancouver. It is not new but in a very acceptable condition. Its staff is ok. There is no elevator, and the room are upstairs. There is a parking in the back of the Hotel, but you have to make arrangements to make sure you will be able get out, if you leave early in the morning, because the parking is locked at night. As I mentionned my room was extremely noisy because of the poor condition of the window, but for people who had a room facing the inside court, it was quiet. There were two showers and toilets on my floor. To eat you have to go out, but there are many restaurants nearby.

Location! Close to great restaurants and endless entertainment. Granville is awesome. We even walked all the way to the aquarium which let us get a really good feel of the city.
Nothing that can be controlled by Ramada.
The hotel is older and funky..if you want a one-of-a-kind place, in the "entertainment center" on Granville Street this is the spot. Bold wall paper in the lobby, creaky old elevator and connected to the Morrissey Bar - - a local's watering hole with fireplace, kitchy decor, very dark and relaxing. Great staff all around. Sarah at the desk was awesome. She recommended the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park in N. Vancouver, had coupons for us and we rocked the bridge as she said we would.. Cool! We also had a wonderful Brunch at The Twisted Fork just up the street and liked our choices of several excellent Sushi restaurants in walking distance. For us Philadelphians, this place was perfect!

If you stay on the second floor just be prepared for really loud music coming from the restaurant/bar from downstairs until about 1:00 am.
Location is good. Bed was comfortable. Staff was good. I Would have given it a better rating except for:
The room smelled like a 3 day old burnt cigarette. Smoking is not allowed now due to Canadian laws, but man can you tell there used to be 20 cigs a day smoked in my room. I'm an ex smoker of about 2 years, so my nose might be a little more sensitive then others. But my friends who ere staying on the floor above me said the same thing.
