The Fairmont Waterfront is one of the best hotels in Vancouver due to its prime location near the historic Gastown neighbourhood and Waterfront SkyTrain Station. I loved the floor-to-ceiling window in my room, where I watched boats sail by the harbour with mountains in the background.

All the rooms come with cosy bathrobes, pillow-top beds, and stocked mini-bars. Amenities include a heated rooftop pool that’s open year-round, an indoor hot tub, and a fitness centre. The Health Club offers spa services and a personal training option for those keen to work up a sweat while on the road.

One of my favourite things about the Fairmont Waterfront is that guests can borrow hotel bikes at no charge and cycle to the legendary Vancouver Seawall for a fun workout with a view. Before heading out, have breakfast at ARC Restaurant – the Berry Smoothie is delicious.

Get ready for an exceptional experience at Exchange Hotel Vancouver. Located in the heart of downtown, this historic property is the former home of the iconic Vancouver Stock Exchange.

For almost a century, guests have loved the hotel’s custom design, which include handcrafted furnishings, large marble bathrooms, and a stunning collection of 20th-century museum-quality artwork sourced from Europe and the UK.

Stylish rooms feature wall murals, luxury linens, large TVs, mini-fridges, and superior amenities. Guests also have access to a state-of-the-art fitness centre, including spin bikes.

After checking out Vancouver’s live music or theatre scene, I suggest returning to the hotel and unwinding at Hydra Estiatorio Mediterranean & Wine Bar.

Located on trendy Robson Street, Hotel Blu Vancouver is one of the top hotels in Vancouver if you’re looking for a stylish place to stay. Those travelling on business will also appreciate the sleek and functional meeting spaces.

Top amenities include an indoor pool, hot tub, dry heat sauna, and open-air terrace to enjoy a morning coffee. Or head to the Azure Breakfast Lounge for a delicious à la carte meal created with locally sourced ingredients. Pet-friendly rooms feature smart TVs, soaker tubs, Nespresso machines, and mini-fridges, and some also come with private outdoor terraces.

I suggest taking advantage of the hotel’s complimentary hire bikes to explore the city and admire the stunning views of the waterfront.

If you’re looking for an elegant and luxurious place to stay, L'Hermitage Hotel is one of the best hotels in Vancouver to book. Located just steps from Vancouver’s shopping and entertainment district, the modern and sophisticated rooms here are all about West Coast sophistication.

This is one of the best boutique hotels in Vancouver, with 60 rooms and suites. My top pick is the Boutique Solarium Room with a king bed, marble bathroom, fully equipped stainless-steel kitchen, Nespresso machine, and plush terry bathrobes and slippers you can wear in front of your own cosy fireplace.

When you get hungry, head to the warm and inviting L’Orangerie Dining Room & Lounge on the fifth floor, which has a timeless vibe. I recommend L'Hermitage High Tea for the ultimate indulgence of dainty sandwiches, French preserves, and authentic teas.

You can’t beat the location of Embarc Vancouver as it’s situated within the Sheraton Wall Centre in the heart of the city. It’s close to the unique stores on Robson Street, attractions such as the Vancouver Art Gallery, and restaurants including MeeT in Gastown, one of my favourites for delicious plant-based comfort food.

There’s a range of studios and suites to choose from, including a one-bedroom suite with a spectacular view of the city via floor-to-ceiling windows. This spacious suite is perfect for families as it has two baths, a kitchenette, a separate dining space, and a large seating area. The suites are designed condo-style, so you’ll feel right at home.

I suggest packing a swimming costume to take a dip in the refreshing indoor swimming pool, sauna, and hot tub. Don’t forget to bring your workout gear to make the most of the fitness centre, too.

You’ll find the Hilton Vancouver Downtown right next to the buzzy Yaletown district, a cool neighbourhood with old redbrick warehouses near the seawall. Make sure you save time to admire the colourful public art along the waterfront and nearby parks.

If travelling with friends or family, the hotel’s bright Queen Studio Suite sleeps four and includes a seating area with a sofa, mini-fridge, microwave, and connecting rooms. Business travellers will appreciate the meeting rooms and business centre at this location.

The outdoor heated rooftop saltwater pool is open year-round, making this one of the best hotels in Vancouver for those looking to get a few laps in. Don’t miss the chance to dine in Hendriks Resto Lounge, an old-school cocktail lounge and restaurant. I suggest ordering the roasted veggie bowl with grilled tofu and yam, washed down with a Hendriks cocktail.

If you’re looking for a stylish boutique hotel in Vancouver, the St. Regis Hotel is a great choice. Art lovers will appreciate the original abstract works on display throughout the public spaces of the property, which has been welcoming travellers for over a century.

This Canadian-owned hotel is located in a renovated heritage building and has won several service awards, bolstering its reputation as one of the best hotels in Vancouver. I’m a big fan of the luxurious Junior Queen Suite, which includes a large work area, separate living room, mini-fridge, Nespresso machine, marble bathroom, and luxury bath products. You can also enjoy a complimentary full breakfast and free movies.

Sports lovers can visit The St. Regis Bar and Grill to watch the game, while the award-winning Beaucoup Bakery & Cafe serves pastries and coffees. I recommend the delicious vegan 'peanut butter jelly cookie' sandwich with a London Fog tea.

North Vancouver is linked to Vancouver via two bridges, one of which is the stunning Lions Gate Bridge. If you’re looking for outdoor adventures and mountain experiences such as walking across the Capilano Suspension Bridge, Seaside Hotel North Vancouver is a fabulous spot to book.

One of the best hotels in Vancouver for luxury lovers, this stylish high-end property includes custom wall murals, natural wood trim, and designer carpets. Their iconic Ocean View Corner Suite has stunning views over the water, as well as a sitting area with sofa bed, bathroom with rainfall shower, and a soaker tub overlooking the harbour.

I suggest visiting the spa on the third floor and getting a massage or facial to rejuvenate you, body and soul. After your treatment, admire the panoramic views of the sea and boardwalk from the spa’s magnificent floor-to-ceiling windows.

Located in Vancouver’s West End near Stanley Park, the Blue Horizon Hotel is locally owned and operated. If you’re looking for fabulous views of the North Shore mountains, you’re in luck: many rooms are corner units featuring two walls of windows and private balconies.

One of the best hotels in Vancouver for a romantic escape, I recommend couples book one of the private suites on floors 29 or 30 and watch the sun set over English Bay. Each room comes with a Nespresso machine, cosy bathrobe, TV, and mini-fridge.

Don’t forget your swimming costume for the indoor swimming pool and your workout clothes for the fitness area. You can also enjoy brunch at the hotel’s on-site restaurant, ABODE, where you can sit outside soaking up the sun. I suggest ordering the Impossible Eggs made with Indian spiced tofu scramble and crispy potatoes on the side.

Wedgewood Hotel & Spa prides itself on authenticity and is a second-generation, female-owned and operated establishment. There are 83 rooms and suites to choose from with balconies, pillow-top mattresses, and plush bathrobes.

Make time to visit the Vancouver Art Gallery, a two-minute walk away, and popular Robson Street, just five minutes away. The hotel’s on-site spa features a peaceful relaxation lounge and luxurious treatments such as the Espresso Coconut Purifying Scrub. I recommend arriving early to try their invigorating eucalyptus steam room. There’s also a wellness centr with state-of-the-art equipment including a spin bike.
