Hotel "König von Ungarn" has been managed in its present form since 1746. Before then the building served for around two hundred years as a stable and guest house for the high officials of St. Stephan's Cathedral. The hotel, which was mentioned for the first time in a Viennese newspaper in 1746, has remained extensively intact and is a listed building. This and much more mark it as an extremely stylish superior category downtown hotel with an unmistakable atmosphere in a top location. Under the spire of St. Stephan's and right next to Stephansplatz The name "König von Ungarn" (King of Hungary) is well deserved. In the days of the Austro-Hungarian Empire from 1867 to 1918 Hungarian aristocrats and magnates lived permanently in the luxuriously appointed apartments. Some guests stayed there for decades. We are proud to be able to maintain these standards today. The restaurant "König von Ungarn" has been managed in its present form since 1746.
