Albir is a delightful beachside resort in south eastern Spain. Located on the Costa Blanca, Albir has a unique landscape in that there are no apartment blocks or high rises to obscure the magnificent sea views. The area is surrounded by the beautiful Sierra Helada mountain range, tropical palm trees and long, sandy beaches.
The climate of Albir is typical of the Mediterranean region with hot summers and mild winters. An ideal time to plan Albir holidays is during the summer months of June to September, when temperatures range from 25-30 degrees Celsius. Arrive to Albir by flying in to Alicante Airport, located around 60 km from the resort. Upon arrival, there are buses, taxis and car hire options available. Albir is in the European Standard Time Zone.
The main beach of Albir is called the Playa de Racó de L'Albir. The sand is a mixture of soft grains and small pebbles that meet with the crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean. Holidaymakers will find plenty of beachside facilities such as showers, toilets, lifeguards and sunbed rentals. The beach is overlooked by a stylish promenade named the Paseo de las Estrellas, offering a wide selection of bars, cafés and restaurants. The best views of the surrounding landscape and coastline can be seen from the Albir lighthouse, just a short walk from the main shore.
For families with children, there are a wide variety of leisure and theme parks available on Albir holidays. Animal lovers can experience a live dolphin or sea lion show at Mundomar, or watch lions, tigers and leopards roaming free at the Vergel Safari Park. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy a round or two at the spacious Albir Golf Course, located in the centre of town. By night there are plenty of restaurants offering local and international cuisine to suit any budget.
