Blanes has five unique beaches surrounded by rocky cliffs, lush vegetation and quaint coves and inlets. The longest beach on the Costa Brava, Platja S'Abanell, is located just 300 metres from the city centre. The beach areas are well equipped with facilities such as showers, sun bed rentals and 'Chiringuitos' where snacks and refreshments can be purchased. Blanes is also famous for its beautiful Botanical and Tropical Gardens. 'Mar i Murtre' is a picturesque garden overlooking the Mediterranean sea, whilst 'Pinya de Rosa' showcases over 7000 species of plants and flowers from around the world. By night visitors can choose from over 150 restaurants to dine at offering traditional Catalan, Spanish and International cuisine. Be sure to try the freshly prepared tapas, seafood and the varieties of local wine produced in the region. On Mondays there is a weekly market selling fresh produce, clothes, homewares and souveniers.
