Palma Nova is a Spanish resort on the Balearic island of Majorca. The resort is near both Palma, the capital of Majorca, and Magaluf. It is an upbeat and buzzing resort that was specifically built as a tourist destination.
The resort is approximately 17 kilometres west of Son Sant Joan International Airport. From the airport there are shuttle services that take visitors to the Palma Nova. Alternatively, visitors can also reach Palma from the sea. Barcelona ferry crossings connect with Palma, and cruise ships also stop there. In Palma Nova visitors can change their watches to one hour ahead of GMT (GMT +1). The best time to visit the resort for Palma Nova holidays is in September and October, when there is still plenty of sunshine, but less crowds. Although there might also be a few more rain showers than in summer.
Palma Nova has three beaches. The main beach at the resort is Playa de Son Maties, a Blue Flag beach that extends 1.2 kilometres. Two smaller, somewhat quieter beaches at the resort are the Cala Blanca and Es Carregador, which have crystal clear waters and fine-grained white sand. The beaches offer a variety of water sports for visitors, and include sun umbrellas and showers.
Aside from the beaches visitors should also check out the minigolf course at Golf Fantasia on their Palma Nova holidays. The minigolf course is surrounded by waterfalls, caves and tropical gardens. Marineland is located at the coast of Portals Nous - here families can glimpse sea lions and dolphins and watch a parrot show. On the other side of the Palma's bay visitors can also visit the Aqualand water park.
