My experience with hertz was fine. My experience with kayak is what I’m unhappy about. The kayak reservation didn’t go through so hertz had no record of our reservation even though we were provided a reservation number by kayak, so we had to re-reserve and luckily enough we were given A free upgrade for the inconvenience that kayak created for us on our trip.

The price that was quoted was much lower than the price they wanted to charge. When I showed the price that was quoted prior to pickup he said he was going to check with management but he never did. We refused to sign the credit card receipt but he said he was going to try to match the price anyway, Hertz sent us a final receipt via email with a lower price but still higher than what was quoted initially before picking up the car. Another thing is that the sum of all charges in the receipt is lower than the total price in the receipt. The clerk told us it was a computer problem. We will have to dispute the charges.

Hire amount has been booked of twice after the car has been given back and finale invoice has been received. There have been no issues reported from hertz to me after drop off inspection. The customer service said only I have to be patient but did not explain why this happens.

Incorrect pickup location address provided and when calling them they were very rude and kept hanging up the phone before being able to ask them any questions. Had to call 4 times to be able to get the right pickup address.

I arrived, and they had the wrong car. They had an SUV-type 7-seater, but I booked a people carrier van. They didn't have any available, so I had to wait 90 minutes with 3 children for the car to be ready. They claimed the issue with the booking was with Kayak/Expedia, and they made me pay the difference in upgrading the car. I showed them the booking confirmation and the picture of the van/people carrier with 9 seats, but they still made me pay. I was so tired and knew I needed the van that I had to pay to get out of the place. The manager was helpful, and the people were lovely. But I find all car rental places to be borderline crooks. This just confirmed it again for me. There are ridiculous add-ons for mileage, car seats for kids (a legal requirement), insurance, and excess. The list goes on.

Predatory practices around car damage, and didn't accept the 3rd party insurance coverage that I had purchased. At the point of pickup I then needed to provide additional coverage through my credit card. Poor communication and customer service throughout.

Pros:

the staff at the Luton Airport office were friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The car which I was supposed to rent was not available and I was provided with options which I was told were upgrades. However, the car that was provided me was definitely a downgrade from the car I was supposed to rent. It was the cheapest, most underpowered Skoda I have ever had the displeasure of driving, compared to the Peugeot 308 I was supposed to rent. It was fine for a day, but will not be renting from SixT again this bait and switch.

They failed to deliver the deal - closed at my scheduled pick up time - no apology - and now they dispute my claim for a refund as they say they cannot refund after the scheduled pick up time - probably the worst ever rental car experience you can ever have

Pros:

The ease from we arrived in Luton to collection of car and quick return everything was very smooth.Staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Car had a stale smoke smell which did not leave it all weekend. car was a Vauxhall Mokka classed as an SUV but was quite small for 5 of us and not very comfortable.

Cons:

Other than pricing nothing negative - I paid a lot more for the vehicle type I got plus adder extra - was not worth it.

Excellent friendly staff, offered an upgrade (but at a cost), efficient checking in and out. Car all fine.

Cons:

I was originally told at booking that we had the option of a pick -up and drop off from Luton Airport to City Centre but turned out we didn't.

Pros:

Upgraded to a bigger car (no small ones available) which turned out to be a dream to drive. Gave me their local telephone number so I wouldn't have to pay premium rate as I knew I would probably have to extend hire. I did extend but there was no hassle abot that - just paid an extra day's hire at the rate I'd originally booked. No delay at check in or check out. Was I just lucky with my timing?

I tried to get a refund from dollar because our flight was cancelled and never made it to our destination to use rental so I cannot say it was good or bad. Trying to get ahold of the company through email and no reply.

It was hard to get a hold of them in the morning. I was on hold for 30+ minutes. I gave up as I was first in line according to the recording. I called back and no one called me back. At noon I left a message and none called me back. At 2 I called and finally spoke to someone. Once I spoke to someone it was excellent from there all the way through.

When I pay money to reserve a vehicle and I get to dollar to check in and was told there is no more 7 passenger vehicle available and there's three people ahead of me also waiting on a 7 passenger vehicle. I think it's poor on Dollar and the third parties Dollar works with. I was not refunded my money for the service I could not use.

Everything was fine. There was a bit of a wait to pickup the car & mixup on car itself compared to the rental agreement. But everyone handled it fast, smooth, & positively. Drop off was smooth. No issues at all. The only inquiry or recommendation is to enhance the Dollar rental experience to be more like renting for Hertz, but there might be reasons I am not considering. Anyway, all good. Electronic car rentals themselves need some help, but that's the car & EV charging station issue not the rental company. Thanks

Pick up seemed okay, I felt I knew more information that I received from online than the employee did. Our vehicle was all beat up on the outside, no floor mats, sticky stuff on the inside. Had good a/c and got us to and from locations which was the main thing. Wished it was cleaner and not so dented prior. Made us nervous we would be charged after. Check out was not so good. Employee checked car in and sent us to get printed receipt which we needed and the employee at the desk had an attitude huffing and puffing as if we were annoying her by asking for our closing receipt. Not very personable on the trips to and from airport on shuttle but each trip they did help load and load luggage and opened doors.

Overall, this was a horrible experience renting through Ace. I made a reservation while on vacation with my family. Once I arriving I was advised that my reservation had expired because I was 4 hours late. I explained to the representative that I call after noticing my pickup was at noon, but my flight arrived at seven. I was told it wouldn't be a problem. The representative told me that the customer service team I called is not connected to their center. He said it's nothing he can do and sat down. I Uber to the hotel and rented from Buget then next day. Horrible customer service!

My friend rented car at the airport for 650 at the airport. I recieved one for $72 and after adding the windshield protection, it worked out to $142 for the same amount of time. Same car and same year.
