Take a hike up Mount Srd and contemplate the beautiful town from above. Then hit the road, and enjoy the views along the way, take a nap on a beach, jump in the water to refresh, or stop by the gorgeous town of Makarska for lunch. 5 days in Sicily from only £220 pp
It’s impossible to pin Sicily’s greatness down to one thing: it’s not enough to just say the Italian island is populated with beautiful buildings and gorgeous architecture at every turn; or that the water is unsurpassable and the landscape as rugged as it is beautiful, or that the wide variety of food and wine offered is exceptional. Talking about Sicily without mentioning the beaches, the sparkling sea, the favourable weather, the historical heritage, the picturesque landscapes – one of the best examples being Mount Etna, the 3350m high volcano from which you can meditate about the big questions, high in the sky of Catania – is like going to a 90s retro night where they don’t play the Spice Girls.

4 days in Madeira from £230 pp
Ok, so you’re quite picky, yeah? If what you insist on for your ideal holiday is warmth, adventure, relaxation, tasty food, a mountain range and the ocean on all sides, I think that I can safely recommend that you get yourself to Madeira, ASAP. This volcanic Portuguese archipelago is located west of Morocco, and the main island is exactly the cornucopia that you’re after. The fantastic climate, temperatures range between 16° and 30° all year round, is exactly what the local flora needs to flourish; meaning explosions of greenery are perfectly coupled with thunderous waterfalls, sheer cliffs and gorgeous beaches. Paradise for the nature lover in you. This also means activities galore! Such as hiking in Ponta de Sao Lourenco nature reserve, kayaking, mountain biking, and diving, surfing or swimming in the Atlantic Ocean. To unwind, you can pay a visit to Porto Moniz and swim in the volcanic pools; and to relax even further? Maybe you can invest some time finding out why Madiera, with its long wine-making history, is also the namesake of a world-famous style of fortified wine.

4 days in Dordogne (France) from £216 pp
Living in the lap of luxury doesn’t have to break the bank. For the gourmets and wine lovers among you: the historic French town of Bergerac and its neighbours, Montbazillac, St Emilion and Bordeaux for example, are renowned for their wine. And because good things always come together, the area is equally famous for its fabulous food, beautiful hilly landscapes and an abundance of castles, which can be admired either as you take a drive in the countryside, or as you paddle down the Dordogne river valley. Visit some of the most beautiful villages in France and check out all of the food markets, rich with seasonal and local delicacies. Henry Miller once said about the Dordogne region “France may one day exist no more, but the Dordogne will live on just as dreams live on and nourish the souls of men.”, And I’m not one to argue with Henry.
