The Christmas Market at Kongens Nytorv is one of the first to open in November. Experience Christmas as in the old days with cosy Christmas stalls surrounded by historical decorations. Here you will find Christmas treats such as Christmas apple punch and mulled wine. For the best experience, visit in the dark so you can experience the magical Christmas lights.

3. Christmas Market at Højbro Plads

Højbro Plads is one of the biggest Christmas Markets in Copenhagen. Here, the stalls are surrounded by Christiansborg Castle and the square’s other historic buildings, with the statue of Absalon riding his horse in the middle.

At the Christmas Market at Højbro Plads you can treat your taste buds to Christmas delicacies from all over Europe. In addition to the traditional Danish Christmas treats, you can munch on everything from cheese and meats to German currywurst. If you need a few presents to put under the Christmas tree, you will find several stalls selling local gifts.

4. Flid Christmas Market

Flid’s Christmas Market is a special market where visitors can see the artists and their creative work processes. Everything here is created based on sustainable principles, from ceramics, and art to wood design, lighting, crafts, and jewellery. 5. H.C. Andersen’s Christmas Market

  • Where: Nytorv, 1450
  • When: November 17 to December 21
  • Opening hours: Sunday – Thursday 11-19, Friday and Saturday 11-20

In the middle of Nytorv you will find the cozy H.C. Andersen’s Christmas Market. The Christmas Market is named after the world-famous storyteller, just as the many stalls are also named after H.C. Andersen’s popular stories.

You may even spot an impersonator of HC Andersen who you can get your photo taken with. If you are visiting with children, they are guaranteed to love the nostalgic carousel or a ride on the beautiful Christmas carousel.

6. VÄRK’s Christmas Market

  • Where: Design Museum Denmark, Bredgade 68
  • When: 1.-3. and 8.-10. December

At the Design Museum members of Danish Craftsmen & Designers are invited to VÆRK’s popular Christmas Market. Here you have the opportunity to buy unique Christmas gifts of high artisanal quality from over 80 different stalls. If you’re hungry, you’ll find traditional apple slices and mulled wine.

7. Christmas Market at Store Godthåb

  • Where: Godthåbsvej 79, 2000 Frederiksberg
  • When: 29 November – 23 December

If you are looking for a cosy and intimate Christmas Market, you must stop by Store Godthåb in Frederiksberg. Here, the farmyard is filled with beautiful South Funen Christmas trees, while the old, listed barn is abundant with greenery, wreaths, and Christmas decorations. In the courtyard, you can enjoy mulled wine, hot cocoa, and apple slices.

8. Christmas at Fasangården

  • Where: The pheasant farm in Frederiksberg Have
  • When: Every Sunday in Advent
  • Opening hours: 13-16:30

In the heart of Frederiksberg Have, you will find the Fasangården, which in the run-up to Christmas is transformed into a magical place for children and adults. Every Sunday in December, the atmospheric farm is filled with everything from Christmas crackers and an oyster bar to visits from Santa Claus and Christmas choir. On the farm, you can munch on Christmas treats while in Fasangården’s rooms, you can sink your teeth into the farm’s delicious smørrebrød.

9. Christmas Market on Værnedamsvej

  • Where: Värnedamsvej

On the first Saturday in December, the traditional market day on Værnedamsvej between Frederiksberg and Vesterbro is transformed into a Christmas Market. All the local shops, cafes and delicatessens move out onto the street to sell their delicious products. At the market you can find great vintage wares, handicrafts, books, and of course plenty of food.

10. Vesterbro RAW Christmas Market

  • Where: DGI Byen
  • When: December 2
