With each airline having its own fees and extra charges on its fares, having a detailed guide comes in handy. Depending on what you bring on board, Eurowings has varying baggage costs. In this guide, you will find all the information on Eurowings’s hand luggage rules.

Remember that you might be required to pay extra fees for sports equipment and certain items. Still, there is an applicable fee for overweight and oversize bags depending on the size and weight categories.

The dimensions of your bag must not exceed 40 x 30 x 25 cm. The small cabin bag for BASIC, SMART, and BIZclass fares is taken free of charge. The SMART fare includes one large cabin luggage, and the BIZclass fare can bring two large cabin luggage. The maximum dimensions for these items are 55 x 40 x 23 cm.

Every traveller is permitted to bring at least one cabin bag with a weight not exceeding 8 kg, which could be checked in if need be. Travellers with SMART class can bring their 8 kg hand luggage on board. Meanwhile, those flying BEST/BIZ class are allowed to carry two pieces of hand luggage, each weighing at most 8 kg.

You can bring an extra item, such as a musical instrument, into the cabin, provided it is within the defined dimensions of a small item of hand luggage (40 x 30 x 25 cm). However, if the instrument is larger than the hand luggage, book for hand luggage (55 x 40 x 23 cm) in addition to the BASIC fare. Remember that each musical instrument you bring into the cabin qualifies as one item of hand luggage. If you’re not sure that your item fits these requirements, try using KAYAK’s Bag Measurement tool, featured in the KAYAK app.

Eurowings observes relative strictness regarding hand luggage and allows travellers to bring only one bag into the cabin in addition to a smaller personal item. Any bag on board must fit in the sizer or be kept in the overhead compartment. Besides, personal items must fit in the space under the seat.

The hand luggage allowance on Eurowings depends on the fare. For BASIC fare, passengers are allowed to bring one small cabin baggage. The SMART fare includes, besides small cabin luggage, one large cabin bag (with 8 kg maximum weight). With BIZclass fare, it is allowed to bring one small item and two large cabin baggage.
