For travellers keeping an eye on the budget this half-term, some of Europe’s most charming cities offer excellent value for a full week-long escape.
Based on KAYAK’s data for average return flights and hotel stays, these destinations offer the best all-in pricing. Krakow boasts an average total cost of £401 for a return flight and seven hotel nights, assuming the room is shared by two people. This makes a week in Krakow 50% cheaper than the average costs for a trip abroad during half term week.

Methodology
Insights in this report are based on flight and hotel searches made on KAYAK.co.uk and its associated brands in the period between 01/01/2025 and 11/09/2025 for travel between 24/10/2025 and 02/11/2025 from any UK airport. They were compared year-over-year to searches in the period between 01/01/2024 and 11/09/2024 for travel between 25/10/2024 and 03/11/2024.
All flight prices are average prices for economy, return tickets. All hotel prices are average for one night in a double room. The room price was then halved to identify the average price per traveller based on two people sharing the room. Prices may vary, percentages for changes in searches and prices are approximate.
To calculate the price of a one week trip for one person, we summed up the average price of one return economy flight and halved the average hotel price for seven nights in a double room.
Weather data is pulled from the third-party site: https://weather.directory/ and has not been verified by KAYAK. Monthly average temperature is based on historical insights derived from ECMWF’s ERA5 reanalysis dataset, one of the most comprehensive and reliable sources of historical weather information.
