I was delighted with my experiencing renting from Sicily by Car in Olbia. The desk agent was exceptionally friendly and helpful - even giving me local tips! - and gave me a vehicle upgrade to a nearly new car. I loved driving around the island in the vehicle and found it a good value for the price. The only thing that could have been improved was the ability to return the car an hour later - I had to spend my last day sitting in the airport because of the strict rules around a later dropoff. I would have been happy to pay 10-20 euros for an extra hour or two, just so I could enjoy my last day in Olbia.

Scam company. Rejected my credit card on pretense the number poorly visible even though clearly visible by all. Still were happy to go ahead with the same card if we get the upgrade and buy expensive insurance. Declined the refund and still charged my card . We with family not only wasted our time and money had to go and find the car in a different place.

Staff at the office was very professional and friendly, unlike the staff at the garage/car pick up point. I had to wait with my 5 year old child at the parking lot for half an hour for the car keys to arrive. When the guy eventually arrived with car keys he was pretty rude to us for no reason. So, that spoiled the experience.

I rented a car but they won’t give me the car because im 20 and not 21. they i told them i want my money back… they said its impossible. I don’t understand that!! When i pay for something and dont recive the service why its impossible to give my money back.

Pros:

Honestly nothing. We were lied to. The best part was the rep from the other rental car company we ended up using.

Cons:

This was the worst possible experience I could have imagined. We chose to use kayak and budget because they are supposedly reputable companies but this experience was a total scam. We were told our reservation wasn’t valid and would need to book a different car for 3x the price once we arrived.

Pros:

Honestly nothing. It took nearly two hours to get the car. The line was incredibly slow and a total mess. We had reserved an Audi, but they only had a Ford Focus, and tried to claim it was in the same class. Then they tried to up sell us. They were doing the same thing to everyone.

Cons:

The pick up process was a total mess. They are very deceptive in the classes of car that they advertise. It took about two hours to actually get a car. Would never rent from this Avis again. Allow yourself time for the return as that also takes longer than it should.

Pros:

Efficient and quick. Good instructions and signage. Drop off employee was very friendly and communicated our small issue to the manager right away. Manager was friendly and open to resolving our small issue with a previously damaged windshield wiper.

Cons:

The pickup employee in the lot was told that the windshield wiper was damaged but he did nothing to change it or repair it, leaving us with a wiper that left streaks whenever we used the wipers. The Fiat 500L is great but takes getting used to for North American drivers since it's a Manual/Automatic hybrid. The rolling backwards when in Reverse and slow acceleration on the highway were scary at times.

I got the impression that they were looking very hard to find fault with the car on return so that they could charge us. We took photos of every part of the car on collection and I would suggest that you do the same. That aside the car was cheaper than any of the main rental agencies.

We got the insurance that Kayak recommends through Allianze, and the staff were annoyed that we didn’t get insurance when we picked up the car. Upon return, she ‘found’ damage on the hubcap, and charged me 320 euros, saying, just get it paid back through your insurance. The spot she found was so tiny, it is barely visible on a picture. That seems like a money grab to me, Also, they were the rental agent t the furthest away from the airport, and difficult to find.

Pros:

The seats were comfortable and and it had a great pickup and the trunk space was adequate

Cons:

The car was dirty, was in an accident that wasn’t repaired ; it needed fliud called AdBlue and nobody told us about that feature and we needed to buy it. The tire pressure was low and akarmed constantly.

Great car in a good condition at a great price. The “office” is quite hard to find, at the back of a car park without signage directing you to it, not accurately located on Google maps and there’s no desk in the rental terminal with the other companies. The drop-off took almost an hour because they were very short staffed (one person) and their systems do not seem exactly fluent.

Unfortunately they did not make it clear that unlike other international companies you must have a PHYSICAL international driver’s license to rent the car. Additionally they have zero flexibility for arrival time despite attempting to call multiple times. Ended up not giving me a refund either after not accepting my virtual intl drivers license and physical American one

They didn't have a car for us when we got there because we arrived a few hours late due to a delayed flight. They said it was a no show so they gave the car to someone else and then tried to charge us double to get another car. And they still charged us for the one they gave away and have not refunded

Finding the pick up and drop off was a nightmare and we lost hours of time. Not clear where to catch the shuttle bus in Rome. The locations are not proper on google maps and the address provided exists near the wrong airport in Milan. We loat 1. 5 hours. Also, terrible experience with Marco in Milan, so rude. Receptionists were nice. Car was fine.
