Prices are average price per night of stay and may not include taxes and fees. "Total" includes our estimate of the taxes and fees. Please verify the total cost on the provider's site before you complete your reservation. Prices and availability are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller
At KAYAK we don’t set prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We aggregate tonnes of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we don't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car hires can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find on occasion that certain prices are no longer available.

More questions or if you have a bad price to report to us
Please send us an email and someone from our team will get back to you promptly.

Düsseldorf, a city rebuilt from the ground up

Düsseldorf graces the banks of the River Rhine in Western Germany and is known for outstanding shopping, fashion, nightlife, carnivals and events. Much of the city was destroyed in WWII, leaving very few old buildings in the modern cityscape. Where historic buildings may otherwise have been, Düsseldorf embraces contemporary public works of art and newly refurbished public spaces. In order to preserve some of the past, the Old Town area was rebuilt from scratch according to original plans and the remaining foundation walls. The mix of nostalgia and modern construction found across the city make Düsseldorf a captivating place to visit.

Famous beers, superior shopping and a charming cityscape

The carefully reconstructed Old Town is now a popular shopping mall that transforms into a popular nightlife scene in the evenings. With 260 bars, cafes and brewing houses jammed into one square kilometre, it is the perfect place to soak up the vibrant atmosphere or tickle your taste buds with a famous Altbier. The Burgplatz, or Castle Square, is worth a stop. Although the castle tower is all that remains, it houses a charming navigation museum and coffee shop with lovely views over the Rhine. Düsseldorf is home to many museums and the perfect way to visit a bunch is during the annual Night of Museums. From the Burgplatz take a stroll on the riverfront promenade along the banks of the Rhine and enjoy the sunniest place in the city. Towards the southern end of the promenade you’ll find the Media Harbour, one of the newest landmarks of Düsseldorf and packed full of restaurants, bars, cafes, clubs, and hotels. Close by, more spectacular views of the city can be gained from the Rhine Tower. For shopping in Düsseldorf you can’t beat Königsallee and its selection of international and high street fashion brands. Any extra time should be spent wandering the city and discovering its beautiful parks and rare Art Nouveau architecture that survived the war.

Best areas to stay in Düsseldorf

Düsseldorf has an excellent selection of hotels to suit most budgets. The Old Town is home to some lovely independent hotels and is close to Königsallee for shopping enthusiasts. Alternatively, book a luxury hotel in the centre of the city for a little indulgence. The area around the central train station is extremely convenient and plenty of comfortable accommodation options exist here. Those making a short trip to Düsseldorf may prefer the high quality hotels near the airport. The charming countryside around Düsseldorf also boasts a number of tranquil establishments perfect for an escape from the city.

Arriving in Düsseldorf and getting around

As Germany’s third largest airport, Düsseldorf International Airport offers flights to 175 destinations worldwide. Located just fifteen kilometres from Düsseldorf’s main train station, the airport is an easy twelve minute train ride from the city. The main train station, Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof is also a major hub for national train links, so travellers coming from within Germany can arrive directly by rail. Düsseldorf is connected to other German cities by a number of highways, making travel by car a viable option. Within the city many popular attractions are walking distance apart. For most other destinations, the local bus, tramway and subway network has you covered. The suburban S-Bahn railway is convenient for trips outside the central areas.
