Prices are average price per night of stay and may not include taxes and fees. "Total" includes our estimate of the taxes and fees. Please verify the total cost on the provider's site before you complete your reservation. Prices and availability are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller
At KAYAK we don’t set prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We aggregate tonnes of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we don't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car hires can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find on occasion that certain prices are no longer available.

More questions or if you have a bad price to report to us
Please send us an email and someone from our team will get back to you promptly.

Frankfurt am Main, more than finance and skyscrapers

Frankfurt, Germany, is located on both sides of the Main River. The city is unique in Europe for its skyline, which is shaped by a significant number of skyscrapers and high-rise buildings. While Frankfurt is the largest financial centre in continental Europe however, it is also a thriving cultural hub in Germany and home to many museums, galleries and Germany’s largest forest within a city, Frankfurt City Forest.

Things to do in Frankfurt: Green city centre escapes and spectacular views

The skyline of Frankfurt can be surprisingly beautiful at dusk, especially when viewed from a great height. Favourite locations include the viewing platform at Maintower, the spire of the Kaiserdom and the Zeilgalerie shopping mall platform. Back down on the ground, Palmengarten, Germany’s largest botanic garden, is a green oasis among the skyscrapers and well worth a visit. Between checking out the international greenhouses you can also rent a row boat on the pond and forget the hustle and bustle of the city. The Städel Museum houses a spectacular collection of classic and modern art as well as an extraordinary underground extension that is a must-see. To escape the city, rent a bike and enjoy one of the many bicycle routes, including the Main River path which will lead you all the way to the city of Hanau if your fitness level can handle it. Glimpses of many different eras can be seen at Römerberg, the central square of Frankfurt. Here you can attend a concert at the old St Nicholas Church, or at the right time of year, delight in a traditional German Christmas market. Also along these lines is the Kleinmarkthalle traditional covered food market which runs all year round and serves guests a delectable array of local specialties.

Planning your accommodation in Frankfurt

Given the popularity of trade fairs and other events in Frankfurt, reasonably priced accommodation can become scarce at different times of year. Booking ahead will help avoid a stay in an overpriced hotel. Many of Frankfurt’s hotels are located around the Hauptbahnhof, providing easy access to public transport and a central position for other sightseeing. Bear in mind this area is also known as the red light district of Frankfurt and has its share of unpleasantness. There are many alternatives in cleaner areas in the city so don’t despair if this isn’t for you. Although many visitors to Frankfurt are there for business purposes, budget rooms in the form of hostels and basic hotels are still easy to find.

Get in and out of Frankfurt without fuss

Frankfurt Airport is the busiest in Germany and services flights from across the globe. Train and bus connections from the airport to Frankfurt am Main and destinations further afield are frequent. By train, the commute between airport and city centre is no more than 15 minutes. Due to its central location within Germany, Frankfurt is easily accessible by road. Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof, the central train station, is a major hub for long-distance trains, however, bus travel within Germany is also a great option, cheaper and sometimes not much less efficient. Within the city, travellers can choose between public transit systems including the S-bahn, U-bahn and trams. Along with the public bus network, these systems cover most locations quite effectively. Deutsche Bahn also provides bicycle hire stations all over the city at economical prices.
