Good location, Right by a lot of night life and good restaurants.Overall decent hotel.
The hotel is in a great location and was easy to get around and the anytime anywhere concierge service was handy during our stay. I regret to say that I doubt I'll be staying in a W again, especially given I'm a consultant who spends lots of time in hotels and am a Starwood Hotels fan. I paid my own money for two rooms to stay in a W on this special occasion in NYC; it definitely wasn't worth it.

It had character
There was a bar with a courtyard below my window, there was noise till 1:30 am. You could also hear the beds creaking!!!!A very nice hotel with unique rooms. A nice country inn feel, with comfortable beds.
Afternoon tea, furnishings, nice staff. I could leave my luggage after check out until I picked it up late afternoon.

Cleanliness and location.
I didn't like that housekeeping was very stingy with their products. I had to rest more and ask for hand towel as they were remiss in giving me any.Only thing I didn't like was the space between the sink and the faucet but was was manageable. Also I would have appreciated one more trash can in the bedroom portion of the room.
Cleaning of the room was not consistent day to day.Toiletry products were not replenished when used up, some evenings there was turn-down and some evenings there was not, note paper was not replenished when used up. Lighting in the bathrm was terrible.

big dissapointmentreally not a good or pleasurable experience
Location is great. The girl when I arrived was really helpful. I wish I could remember her name. The bed was also comfortable.
No heating in the room when I arrived (it was 64 degrees inside). The only way to heat it up was with a little plugged in heater and it took forever. 2 days without hot water. The safe didn't work. Missing lightbulbs. Loud music until 11h30pm. Rundown.Although the hotel is in a great location, I had numerous problems with the room. First, when I arrived at the hotel, there was no heating in my room (64 degrees). I had to use a little heater and it took for ever to heat it up. Then some lights were actually didn't work in the room. The safe was missing batteries and had to be careful when using it because it was missing a part and my stuff could have been stuck in there if the batteries fell off. I also had 2 days without hot water on a 4 day trip. Complained and they checked. It seemed fine but it was cold again when I too...

location, friendly staff, Inn was kept very cIean
NoChelsea Inn is very rustic, and might not be for everyone. One shares a bathroom, which didn't bother me. Room was quiet.
The breakfast sandwich at the discounted restaurant next door was excellent and VERY filling. I had the egg-sausage-cheese on ciabatta bread.
The shared bathroom situation was a nuisance. The baited pest traps on the floor of the room and closet were both unexpected and unsettling! The bedspread was stained and its cleanliness was in question.

Nice hotel, but not for the price. I don't understand why so many NYC hotels still have such poor HDTV programming (most channels are in analog#, charge for wifi #$16 a day at the Gramercy# and don't put coffee makers in each room #the Gramercy has complimentary coffee on the 1st floor, but who wants to get dressed in the morning just to get their first cup of coffee -- or worse, have the bother of dealing with room service?). Even the lower-end hotels in the rest of the country are now ahead of NYC hotels on the little things that actually matter.
It starts with an excellent reception from the staff and this standard is maintained throughout the stay. Yes its expensive, but its elegant and classy. We went for room only not least because you should get out and see the city and breakfast at one on many little nearby cafes is part of the experience. It also saves a small fortune to be spent on other things. New York - like so many cities, eats money.

Recently redecorated, traditional and somewhat dark style. Roomy and comfortable, but just a room to sleep in. Good breakfast very close in Grammacy cafe, and short walk to union square subway so very easy for broadway and other places in NY.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms and shared bathrooms were very clean. Overall good value for money - would definitely stay here again.

I liked that the hotel was close to the metro.
The elevator was incredibly slow & the shower doesn't have a door on it do makes a mess in the bathroom.Hotel was nice overall. I would not stay there again because there were a few things that bothered me like the shower & the extremely slow elevator. It was close to the metro stop at 14th & 6th.
Hotel is very charming. Well thought out decor.
Not really. The place is great as long as you're not expecting a ton of space. It's an older building in NYC so there are tight squeezes. Once you have your head around that, you'll be able to appreciate this wonderful hotel.
