Prices were quoted in CAD and were asked in USD at a way worse rate than what I anticipated, and with no internet on the spot to verify and show my reservation I had no choice but to accept and go with whatever they were saying. The car was in rough shape and not particularly clean, with the radio inoperative and bits ands broken inside, and at drop off they charged me 190$ for a cleaning fee because there were some dog hair on the floor in the back. Overall when I should have paid 425$ Cad I ended un paying over 1100$ cad. I should have stuck with the competitor’s rental, this was way overpriced and will definitely not recommend to anyone.

I was overcharged. I will be disputing credit card charge. KAYAK booked me the van at a price $300 cheaper than what I was charged and Budget said I needed to contact KAYAK. Very bad experince

Budget tried to give me a sedan even though I paid for an SUV. This was right after they gave away an SUV at no extra cost to the person in line in front of me. They took an hour to find another SUV.

Acceptable. We didnt inspect the vehicle together and sign it off before leaving from pick up which was a bit of a worry. Car interior a little worn/tired but clean. No sixt branded car hire stickers/signage? I selected wrong airport for pick up. Additional charge was a bit high in my opinion but understandable

After 30 minutes of waiting in line they refused to rent me a car because I could not prove that I live in Canada - the country where I received my drivers license. I have no Idea why I have to prove that, Ideally valid documents should be enough, but the result is disappointing: I did not get a car, the company did not receive my money.

My van that was reserved and pre paid in advance was given away due to my flight being delayed. Imagine the person in front of you in line is discussing how a van just became available as you stand there asking if the van being given away was yours. And yes it's in fact your van. Then no vans were left to rent and you have to rent a hotel and hope a van becomes available the next day. Fingers crossed as you are in a foreign country not knowing what to do next. I was also awake at that point over 26 hours. Tired exhausted and jet lagged. So my experience was 10 out of 10 the worst case scenario.

The car was fine, but we had a puncture on the tire and called the "accident" line. Cars are not equipped with spare tires. They said someone would come out to assess the problem, but probably wouldn't fix it. Then we'd have to get a new car the next day. So we would be abandoned on a rural road without a car 30 miles from our hotel and then have to travel 50 miles the next day to pick up a new car at the airport using public transportation or a taxi. After giving us our options, they disconnected the call so we gave up. It was 6pm on a Friday. We called a 24-hour repair service and they came out and fixed the tire on the spot, which we paid for, and we were on our way. I don't understand why Europcar could not dispatch a repair service like this.

The place is a total scam. PLEASE be very careful if you deal with them, especially at the moment of signing where they will try to distract you In Order to lock you into some crazy extras. Do yourself a favor and bring your business somewhere else. Feel free to read their google reviews and you will see dozens of clients like me that were duped by a very dishonest sales team.

In the end it was good but to get to the car hire desk and be told no car because I'm late when I let the telephone head office know what time I was going to pick up the car .The person on the telephone did not pass on my information so my car was gone but the staff at the northampton branch found me a car and saved the day.

My scheduled pickup time was 11:00 am but our flight was early and ended up getting to the ticket counter at 9:30 am. They wouldn't issue me the car until 11:00 am so we had to sit there for an hour and a half waiting. There has to be a better way.

They wouldn't allow me to inspect the vehicle before. They said it was too dark. I came back, and there was a tiny scuff evaluated by a non-Hertz employee. I have outside insurance purchased, but I bet it's going to be a hassle.

Price was good for the 12-day rental. It was exhausting at the time of car pickup, the lady kept trying to upsell me on a bigger car, more insurance coverage. What could take 10 minutes for signing the rental agreement, took over 30 minutes. Everything else was amazing.

Had a Mercedes lined up for $500 over four days and was told we could get a van for much less with much more room. Took 15 minutes to switch the reservation around, and only at the end was I told that it was almost $290 more, despite the agents assurance it would be less.

Pros:

Drop off is so easy. Pick up takes somewhat longer than expected, perhaps due to my booking was not doen directly with Hertz/thrift. They asked me to write down typical info such as address, cell number and email which was given when booking was made.

Car was very comfortable, clean , more than enough power, pick up was sooo easy, drop off a little disappointing as there were no persons on the counter and we really wanted to know about the deposit return. In the end we had to drop the key and run for our boarding, but was sorted very easy next day by phone call.
