Predictable level of service and comfort
The location can't be beat. It's near the entertainment, arts, and business districts. Union Station is right across the street. The hotel interior is gorgeous. In a city of glass and steel the old stone/marble really feels nice. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
My room was not renovated like some of the others mentioned by reviewers. The decor was dated but comfortable and good enough for the stay.
We were upgraded from 1 room - 2 queens size beds to a renovated 2 bedroom suite upon arrival! It was a special BD celebration so it couldn't have been a nicer surprise. The suite was gorgeous, with 2 king size beds, each room with separate luxurious ensuites, full living room, dining room and kitchen. The only problem was, we didn't want to leave to explore the city. The staff was exceptional. I'd come back in a minute and I'm in Toronto every day.
I very much like the fact that the UP Express is just across the street from the Royal York, making the trip to the airport just so easy. That convenience is such a bonus and should be a good part of your advertising.
Not much Not much.
Waited 4 hours In the lobby. Previous nights guests had trashed the room.
I love the old feeling with the comfort of modern rooms. Staff going the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your stay.
There is nothing to dislike at the Royal York
Location is great, close to transit. Pool was warm. Renovated room was nice.
The room is Cousy and very comfy.
It's the traffic it's hard to get around
This hotel has such a luxurious feel and look about it. Class and style describe it. Beautiful hotel, extremely courteous staff and they're very professional too. We came for a romantic Valentine's Day and the Royal York delivered.
No radio in the room and the sensor-controlled mini bar, but that's no biggie.
Clean, staff were very courteous, location excellent (but the continuing roadworks along Front Street is a headache).
Room size - Tiny room. We were informed that we were being upgraded but when we got there the room was tiny with a spacious adjoining bathroom. I would recommend that clients specifically ask about room dimensions when booking.
