I WAS LEFT ALONE. IT WAS THE PERFECT WEEKEND. THE STAFF WAS AROUND, BUT DIDN'T BOTHER ME. I WAS ABLE TO HAVE A QUIET WEEKEND AWAY. I LIKE THAT WHEN I CALLED I WAS TOLD I COULD CHECK IN EARLY, BECAUSE THEY HAD A ROOM READY.
NOTHINGI HAD A GREAT STAY THERE AND WAS PLANNING TO BOOK ANOTHER ROOM TO GET AWAY ONE DAY. I REALLY ENJOYED THE AREA THE HOTEL WAS IN AND I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED THAT THE RESTAURANTS STAYED OPEN LATE AND I WAS ABLE TO EAT ON MY OWN TIME.
The mattress was very uncomfortableOnly two pillows provided.

unfortuatately, we had to leave a couple hours after check in due to issue with babysitter so we did not stay over and saw room for 5 minutes and no other amenities.
Friendly helpful staff. Somehow I had been booked for a king sized bed when I wanted two beds. The desk man made the change without question.
no, except the rooms were really small but that was not a problem and was to be expected.close to subways and fast food places. In-house restaurant, 'The Bullpen', served good food for dinner.

Super-comfy bed, free wi-fi and the room rate, which was not excessive by NYC standards included breakfast. Good and safe neighborhood, within walking distance of nearby subway station to connect to midtown and immediately near a very lively pub area.
Breakfast selection was rather limited. The staff, while they did respond to our questions and requests, always seemed unhappy to do so. A smile wouldn't hurt.
fitness machines, steam and sauna great, location excellent, near many restaurants
Small rooms, charged for internet, elevator breakdown three times during stay

Room design and decorations were great. Sheets and pillows were excellent. Bathroom was well designed and very classy.
5th floor reception area was awkward. (changing elevator banks each time to enter and leave hotel). AC vent blew directly on the bed, so it was uncomfortable to sleep when the ac unit was on.I'v stayed at the Millenium downtown, which is rated as a 4 star and the W is a 4 1/2 star. Based on room quality alone, the Millenium is nicer (better views and overall room experience). I didn't check out the hotel amenities, so maybe that is why W is rated higher.
Only the beds.
Small bathroom. Small room. Low beds. Small TV. No proper lobby. Had reserved and paid for a King size bed but upon checkin was told there only two full sized beds left. Almost no apology. No trying to make up for it with a credit or free movie etc. Very matter of fact. Wasn't expecting that from W brand.

Great location, great price
The bed was a trifle small but otherwise fine
The hotel was perfect.
The location of the hotel was an absolute train wreck. The streets in that part of Manhattan are almost entirely one way, and the construction with the WTC makes it much worse. I will not stay in this neighborhood again.

Modern and clean. Very secure.
The location to our destination and the staff members were very nice.
The room had one face cloth and when we called for more they only brought towels. The ice machine and bucket was located on the third floor. We had to make several trips a day to refill. One day there were no buckets and it took 40 minutes to get one.The buckets were dirty and the elevator was excruciatingly slow. While we understand the need for security in the hotel given its proximity to ground zero, it became a pain to need to have your room key to operate the elevator every time you needed to select a floor. To further add to the frustration of our stay. I noted today (after returning from the trip and not driving my car at all) that damaged had occurred to my vehicle while it was in the possession of the valet parking. It looks like my car was parked near a yellow divider and the front end of the bumper is scraped and would only be visible upon a complete inspection of the...

Very friendly and accomodating staff. Received a complimentary glass of wine immediately upon my arrival. Nice after 10 hrs on the road. Very good vibe. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, good location.
The hotel was a bit hard to find despite having a GPS. Not really, the hotels fault, I guess. The bathroom wall was made of a transluscent mosaic panel, which did not offer much privacy. Ended up doing our business with the bathroom lights off most of the time. While this may not be an issue for some, with 4 adults in the room it was definitely a bit awkward at times.
Tremendously helpful staff! Genuinely friendly, professional, and helpful. They seemed to actually care! They were also very accommodating when I made some requests for the room (an extra cot).
One of the two elevators was out of order during the stay, but this is a temporary problem and isn't a deal breaker. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place in the Financial District. The hotel is charming, has character,is unique, and is definitely not like a cookie cutter hotel like the big chains. To a person, the staff are superb and very helpful and friendly. The room I had (King Suite)was HUGE, clean, and the ceiling must have been 18 feet tall! No kidding! This hotel is a keeper and I'll definitely be returning.

The bathroom was so new and the huge shower with the glass doors was pretty cool.
pretty much all the furniture looked like it was purchased from Ikea. I'm over the "modern" aka cheap ikea look in hotels.
Staffs are very nice. The hotel is very clean.
The water is easy to leak out from the bathroom.
