Old, outdated room in very poor shape. Unclean bathroom, carpet and linens. Smelled like smoke
The staff were very helpful and wonderful. It is right near the freeways and also if you want public transportation is also near by.
The rooms are very small and thier Tv is out dated facing mostly one of the beds.

The location was great..pool ect...wonderful
The resort fee and parking fee....obsered .....Small rooms in the towe, but nice...just hated the parking fee of 35 a night and resort fee...just a joke
The hotel was nice with the Marina so close and the location was centrally located if you have a car.
The staff was somewhat helpful but the fee for parking was extremely high when there was no one enforcing the parking situation and they said that it would let use have a spot at our room which it didn't. Also housekeeping was pushy. The resort fee is not worth the fee for them not providing anything special. They just need to increase the nightly rate and not charge a resort fee. They did a lot of kids events at the resort, but the kids event they did was immediately in front of peoples room and in the morning we had someone in front of our room doing activities and it woke us up.

It was the only attractive sounding one available at 3 stars. Definitely not 4 stars and barely 2 stars
The rooms from 1970's need a lot of work to meet the high cost. The sewer gas smell. I did not use the resort so the resort fee was just a rip-off
This hotel is located in an excellent area for visiting most of the sites in the area.
The rooms are definitely not four star rooms; two stars at most. The rooms are very dated. The floors and bathroom could definitely have been cleaned better. Excessive parking and facility charges.Overall, my family and I were very disappointed with our experience at this hotel. After checking in, we went to our room and immediately realized this was not a four-star hotel as advertised; it was maybe two stars at best. The room was very dated and the floors and bathroom were not as clean as you would expect. I immediately realized the room provided was not the 'premier' room we had reserved. I called the front desk and they explained the hotel was sold out for the night and we could change rooms the next day. We did change rooms, but never received any sort of credit for the first night's mistake. The new room wasn't much different than the first other t...

The view. The room was larger than your typical hotel room which was needed as we had two teenage girls with us and needed space for a roll-a-way bed.
Too many little kids. If you are not traveling with little kids this will probably not work for you. The pool is extremely loud and there were at least 10 to 15 kids in the jacuzzi at all times which is pretty much capacity so adults cannot enjoy. It is on the bay so you do have to drive to the beach. The remote in the room did not work so we had to change chanels and volume on the TV manually. They were very busy. Kids everywhere and we actually did not even attempt to use the pool area or jacuzzi as there was no seating available. Check-in was at 4:00. We arrived at 2:30 and our room wasn't ready until a little after 4:00 and the staff just kept saying they were very busy and completely booked.
Location was great... it's 10-15 mins away from other attractions in the area and amenities at the hotel were good.
The decor looks dated and some furniture was worn. My dresser did not close properly and the mini fridge door was jammed and also smelled. Parts of the bathroom looked new but some fixtures like the toilet looked old. At least, the bed was comfortable. The hotel property itself is nice, centrally located, and the staff was terrific and accommodating as you would expect from a high-end brand. However, for the price I would want a room that doesn't look like a cheap motel room. Hotel fees and parking fees are rather high though similar to others in the area.

The atmosphere and location
Having to pay 17 for garage parking and 22 for valet everyday of the stay.
There was a loud noise that woke us up both mornings around 5:30am. Possibly a washing machine on the next floor up?

Old building looking, charges for facility use daily. The room we stay was good and they didn't charge extra for 2 queen beds. I don't mind the parking fee but dont like the daily facility fee.
Easy to get to
Bed was poor. Parking was very difficult.Too much of a hassle, too many folks, too little parking, only adequate quality, they ding you an extra $14 a day for basics, plus ding you for parking. Overall It was not a pleasant stay.

Beautiful room and grounds, even smelled wonderful everywhere!
A few too many kids running around but hey its a family resort. I was there on business.
This is a lovely hotel and I would stay there again. Wish I stayed longer to try their spa but it was a quick 2 day business trip and literally in and out. I did dine at Avant and had the crab and pear salad. Very good but not big enough for a meal alone. My CEO had the lamb and my friend had the free range chicken and they very much enjoyed it. For dessert we had the delicious chocolate trio and it was enough for 2-3 people so we shared. My CEO learned of a death in his family upon arriving to the hotel and they sent a complimentary bottle of wine and cheese to his room. I thought that was extremely generous and kind. The staff really went above and beyond at every turn to make my stay as pleasant as possible. Thank you RBI!
I stayed in the Greens on the top floor. Nice view of the golf course and fountain; however, my room was in the middle of the building and you had to walk to either end of the long building and climb stairs with luggage to get to the top floor as there is no elevator. The parking spots are very small and I had rented a standard size suv so I had to park further away from the building than desired. Overall, just small stuff.

Beautiful setting and architecture.
Smoking policy inhibits enjoyment of fresh ocean/pine air. Priceline customers are put in the few rooms without a balcony. It was obvious the room we were given is rarely used as it was the farthest from the lobby, the stuffy/mildew smell could knock you over, and there were dead flowers in the bathroom. I was surprised the receptionist gave us this room after she asked us if we had been at the hotel before and we informed her we had been married there 9 years ago after the hotel first opened. The hotel was nowhere near full. After sneezing for the first 15 minutes in the room from the mildew, we called and asked to be moved to a room that at least had windows that would open to let some fresh air in. We were moved to the room directly below ours. However, every time we opened the balcony door, the guest on one side was smoking a cigar or the gust on the other side was smoking a cigarette, which filled out roo...
The Lodge at Torrey Pines is a fine hotel that pays attention to the details. The staff at the front desk was very helpful. The staff at The Grill was very attentive and despite the number of guests they seemed to remember you the moment you entered the restaurant. My only regret was that we were unable to dine there before we left for our flight. The turn down service left small gifts that I found very useful including chocolate and a jet lag therapy kit. After flying cross country to get there the hospitality was very much appreciated.
