Fairly central location. Fairly quiet area. Cheapest option around
Inflated prices in SD mean this place is cheap but only relatively speaking. The term "resort" is generous. Beds and decor are old, fixtures are at a minimum and everything from the TV to the bathroom feels old like it's out of the '80's.

The grounds were gorgeous, the staff was very helpful and so pleasant. The rooms were spacious and had great little patios with lounging chairs. We very much enjoyed the restaurants, great ambiance and tasty! Would definitely recommend, and would stay here again in a heartbeat.
The bed/pillows were a bit uncomfortable.
Over all it was a nice place. But it was overpriced, bcuz of rooms we stayed wasn't all that for it price, $34 parking? plus resort fee? it has no water view unless of course you pay more.
We liked the adult pool it was salt water and was very clean.

The staff friendly and polite, responsive
there was signage at the entry that the resort is celebrating 50 years. It looks every bit like that. The carpets were in bad shape, there was a moldy musty stench in all rooms that was very hard to adjust to. There were moths in the room which is something I haven't seen very often in any hotel. No fan in the bathroom. Definitely the worst Hiton I've stayed at and not worth the money.

I hated it. I was assigned a room in a two story walk-up facing a parking lot, but my car couldn't even been seen since there were so many cars (I had to park in another area). The room faced a freeway. It was SO DISAPPOINTING that I immediately went back to the front desk to give the rude staff member his keys. Motel 6 would have been a much smarter choice!j Then there was the issue of how to get my money back. Jeremy at the motel & Sandy at "Get a Room" did a great job in getting me a full refund. Thank you to both of you! I hope Jeremy is promoted to general manager of the motel & then I'll go back! I hope "Get a Room" also promotes Sandy. Their employers have two awesome employees!
I hated it & would never recommend it to anyone. Waste of a trip down to San Diego--I drove back home to Los Angeles. My home is more relaxing than that dumpy old motel.
I didn't get the two bed that i booked but get king instead, can't get any sleep because we had to share the bed with our son.

The setting is beautiful, very peaceful
They advertise a shuttle to take you to and from the hotel within five miles (there is no means of transportation or anything within walking distance) yet there is no shuttle and while we requested the service several times it was never an good time for staff to drive you into town.
Beautiful room and grounds, even smelled wonderful everywhere!
A few too many kids running around but hey its a family resort. I was there on business.
