Met some new mates everywhere, the facilities were perfect for a backpacker and the bathroom were clean
Uncomfortable beds, the bathroom was very smelly, not clean and a lot of insects were in it, kitchen was okay but sometimes also very dirty
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the lounge area was really nice. The toilets and shower facilities were also in good shape. It just needs a bit of love, a bit like Rotorua.
The hostel seemed to reflect the town of Rotorua. A little bit battered with plenty of closed shop fronts. For somewhere that should be busy in the summer for activities the kitchen was not in the best nick. One fridge was broken and there was only one knife for chopping food. The bedrooms only had a single dual PowerPoint and under the beds were dirty.
Location was in the center of town.
The room was shabby, not like the photos. The lamp fell off the wall and was not even wired. The bathroom was not so clean. And a “family” of about 20 senior citizens lived on the property making it feel less like travellers accommodations and more like invading a family’s home.
Nice common area, very friendly staff!
Kitchen without windows, sticky!
