If you're a Tolkien fan visiting New Zealand, the world-renowned recreation of Hobbiton after the movies were shot here is located near Matamata in the Waikato province on North Island. The nearest international airport is Hamilton Airport (HLZ), so make that your destination when you want to find cheap flights to New Zealand.

All your international departure airports in the UK are part of the country's national limited mobility assistance programme. They all have accessible amenities, are wheelchair-friendly, and offer personal assistance if you require it.

  • Are there non-stop flights to New Zealand?

Pros: "The food we were served was of excellent quality which is so unusual when it comes to airline meals, crew and service was great as well. Obviously Air NewZealand have a far better understanding of what there customer base require compared to their competitors"
Cons: "Could not fault anything"
Pros: "The crew was great. Really friendly, we got skycouch and it was really comfortable"
Cons: "Food was a bit too rich, maybe a lighter option in the menu would be useful as both were quite thick sauces."
Pros: "The crew was wonderful, very hospitable and friendly."
Cons: "The seating in economy class is abysmal. The seats are extremely small and the rows are to close together. There is no leg room. The seat cushioning is almost nonexistent. It's like sitting and leaning back on a board. On this last trip I had a window seat. I'm 5'4" and 115 lbs."
Pros: "Crew were always friendly and just looks happy to do their job. Seat were comfortable enough for what I paid for"
Cons: "Breakfast"
Pros: "The food in Premium Economy was good and there are plenty of movies to choose from. The staff were lovely."
Cons: "I had paid for Premium Economy and was seated in Row 30. The passengers were boarded up to row 28, then from to back of the plane forward then I was boarded with the last remaining passengers. That was not what I feel should have happened. I did not like the footrest on the seats."
Pros: "The crew was great. The seats were good but not as spacious as some other business class airline seats."
Cons: "The TV screen interferes with the tray table and could knock off food from the table."
Cons: "Very Slow meal service, had to ring for sparkling water when we had asked the attendant during the meal service. Took 20 minutes."
Cons: "Air NZ serves the special meals first but never offers passengers a drink. By the time the meal and drinks trolleys come round for the rest of passengers, most people have eaten their special meal."
Pros: "I liked that there was food available and that they offered complimentary snacks and drinks. Some of the crew members were nice and offered good service. I liked that they offered some type of entertainment and free wifi."
Cons: "I didn't like that some of the crew members were not very nice. I also disliked that some of the crew members drove the food/beverage cart violently through the isles and saw as one of the crew members rammed into another person's leg, to only say "oh sorry" and kept on going. This same crew member missed picking up the trash from an entire row and was throwing trash on the floor. She was more interested in caring for a baby on board (not sure if it was her daughter or family member) than the rest of the passengers. I also didn't like the seats were so close to each other, the person in front of me almost hit my face when he reclined his seat all the way back. There wasn't much room to breath let alone stretch."
Pros: "Air NZ is fantastic start to finish and airport security doesn’t make you take off your shoes in the airport. Flight was on time start to finish."
Cons: "Everything!! My seat was not extra wide, it was broke and would not recline...14hr flight!! Entertainment system didn’t work right."
Pros: "Emirates is a top airline for comfort and extras. Even on short flights customers are treated well."
Cons: "No suggestions"
Pros: "The entertainment was really good. The movie options were good. It was really nice that the movies were free. The pilot did a nice controlled landing and take off"
Cons: "N/a"
Pros: "The crew helped us get seats together as a family and also made a request for that seat change. They allowed us to board earlier which really helps since we have two kids under 4 years of age."
Cons: "The announcements at Chennai airport are not always audible"
Pros: "Crew was average food was below average service was below par. Emirates is slipping. Boarding and deboarding was the worst."
Cons: "Lots to be improved. Crew food boarding on board service."
Pros: "Good leg room, comfortable"
Cons: "Food not that good, mostly cold, games for children didn't work, service used to be better"
Pros: "Good selection of food"
Cons: "Having to listen to everything in both English and Arabic"
Pros: "Crew is great and on their game"
Cons: "Stuck next to and surrounded by crying babies on a long haul flight is terrible. So uncomfortable! Wish I could afford to upgrade but I suppose I must tough it out:/"
Pros: "the entertainment options"
Cons: "The crew, instead of the usual isle by isle service kept the food trolly at the service station and bought back trays to passengers. This doesn’t have a clear logic to it, but the worst part was, was that they forgot where they were and I had to use my call button for a meal. People were skipped over and they mixed things up. Shockingly disappointing decline in Emirates service standard."
Pros: "Friendly crew"
Cons: "Service from crew slow and when you ask for something they sometimes forget to bring it"

Me and my wife checked well before time. we were amongst the first to check in. When the flight landed in London our AirTag showed that the luggage is left behind at Toronto. We caught the onward flight and landed at Bangalore, India and are still waiting for delivery of the four pieces of checked in luggage.

Cons: "Must have been an old plane; the seats were a bit worn and the screens are tiny."
Pros: "Crew did their job that’s all. Not very friendly."
Cons: "My flight Rome to London - I was very surprised to learn we had to buy water, tea or coffee. To give it to your passengers is the least you could do. We didn’t travel for free. This was the very first time I have ever been told, as your partner Aer Lingusdid as wel, that I needed to pay for water."
Pros: "Price for seat was very good. We left 30 minutes late but arrived early."
Pros: "Check-in at BWI could not have been nice/more courteous. Great flight and crew!"
Cons: "We love this BA flight out of BWI."
Pros: "The staff on the plane could not have been more professional, courteous, and helpful. Not only did they serve me well, but perhaps even more importantly, they created a great atmosphere in the cabin with the cheerful, playful rapport they had with each other. I wanted to take them all out for a drink afterward!"
Cons: "The cabin was extremely hot for almost the entire flight. I had my pants rolled up to try to stop sweating. I asked for some ice water to help cool down and although promised, it never arrived. I was not able to sleep as a result."
Cons: "2 Hours delay I lost my connection it took like 10 more hours to get to my destination I finally got to my destination my luggage was misiing today is Tuesday July 24th and I’m still waiting no luggage and dress with the same clothes since Sunday"
Pros: "Flight crew was very friendly."
Cons: "They lost our luggage and then located in another country but wouldn't fly it out to us until 12 hours later. We could not stay in the airport that long with a toddler. Food was terrible, no breakfast provided and not even water provided on our connecting flight to vce."
Pros: "N/A"
Cons: "I understand the flight was delayed because of the thunderstorm, but even then, the boarding process was horrible, at the airport they didn't know what was going on and people could board with no logic. It's also unbelievable that with a flight with such a delay, where we were told that at the gate that there was a limited amount of food on board, whatever was available (even water) was not kindly offered, but was on sale only."
Cons: "Thank you so much really was the best price I got"
Cons: "I lost my bag, its untraceable right now . The airline was not that supportive and i haven't heard from them till now."
Pros: "Plane left late from Manila and was asked to run to catch the connecting flight to LAX. Monitor did not work. Flight attendant/s were rude whenever their asking to stow away foot rest. Never say please. When I got to LAX, I needed to wait for the very last luggage for me to find out that my luggage was left in Guangzhou. No apologies whatsoever and was given a direction to file a report. Very sad experience."
Cons: "Focus on customer service. More training with staff since they are dealing with different nationalities."
Pros: "Should provide strong internet connection on board. Food should be world standard and option for HALAL food."
Cons: "No wifi and HALAL food."
Pros: "Good lay flat business seats on A380, great bang for the buck, lounge at GZ is nothing special, staff was good though."
Cons: "Poor inflight entertainment options - make sure to bring your own pre loaded device They deplane and board the A380 onto busses via a single two-story stair case. Yes - all 500+ people...with all their kids and bags, old people young people, all going up one single stair case, up two floors."
Pros: "Did not get online seat selection and online check in. Not satify at all with customer service over the phone."
Pros: "The aircraft looked newer. Toilet was a bit roomier & appeared generally cleaner compared to same flights I’ve taken before. Seat in economy seemed more comfortable. I asked for aisle seats with no problem. On one leg, asked for premium seat (more leg room) & was provided with no problem. Noise level seemed lower. Snacks were at the galley when needed. Food was generally good (I usually feel nauseous with smell of airline food, but didn’t feel it). On one leg, asked for just fruits (instead of the regular meal), & attendant offered 2 apples (apparently personally brought by an attendant)."
Cons: "The flight attendants don’t speak much English, so you couldn’t carry a conversation to pass time. Couldn’t get the English audio on movies to come out. One attendant kept limiting the wine serving on my small cup."
Pros: "The plane was awesome. It was very spacious and very smooth ride."
Cons: "There system wasnt like this before. We had to take the transit visa for 1 day and it was way too much work. You have to stand in the que for two different lines and for almost more than a hour. We visited there earlier and it wasnt like this."
Pros: "They did work with us to help with the seating."
Cons: "We flew from NYC- JFK to Siem Reap Cambodia and back with the airline. On the way back I was unable to choose seats online prior to boarding. We were placed in Row 63, which is the LAST row on the plane and does not recline. For a 15 hour flight this seating should not be used. It is completely unreasonable to think people will be ok not reclining, and honestly the seats felt more straight up than the normal seats. After discussing it with the crew for half an hour on a full flight they were able to move us to other seats. But were unable to move us to business or first for a discount. End point: these seats should not be used! It was so miserable even thinking we might get stuck with them. And if they do stick people there you should be comped, that was not worth the same fare everyone else payed for coach."
Pros: "The crew was friendly and the entertainment was plentiful. I had a coach window seat and was able to sleep for a solid 7 hours or so without being uncomfortable."
Cons: "They ran out of wine and didn't have any snack option available (even for purchase) between the two meals that were served. The food was bad the portions were small for a 16 hour flight."

Elderly individual shud be given priority to board the plane together with passengers with children and disabled. Otherwise things are OK.

Pros: "The lower level cabin attendant did her best to make a better impression than her supervisor. I am grateful to her."
Cons: "The purser was not even polite. Was it because she was veiled and I was wearing a cross? I really hope not. The normal economy seats are cramped to an unacceptable level. I will avoid flying MH economy again. Malindo, a low-cost flying the same routes (SGN-KUL and KUL-CMB) I often fly, has a much better level of service than MH, supposedly a full service airline."
Pros: "Our luggage missed the connection but the situation was well handled"
Cons: "Entertainment"
Pros: "we had extra legroom travelling with an infant"
Cons: "the staff could have been a little considerate when serving food to you while you're holding a sleeping baby"
Cons: "The flight attendants didn't ask me if I need ice cream or any drink but they asked another seat of passages. It's not fair..."
Pros: "There was a hot meal on this 1.5 hour hop from Kota Kinabalu to Kuching"
Cons: "The seats on the 737-800 have quite limited legroom"
Pros: "The boarding process was really fast and efficient."
Cons: "No IFE was provided on this flight, so sad. There was a headset port in my seat but the airline didn't provide the headset so it is useless. Well the only thing that I can do on the plane was just sleeping."
Pros: "New plane and spacious."
Cons: "No choice in meal for breakfast. Only one type available. Ran out of red wine. White wine wasn’t chilled. Poor service, no water was offered on a long flight. Have to ask it."
Pros: "The food was good on this flight . The entertainment was good I managed to get a good sleep as well."
Cons: "The beer offered was in a pre poured glass I could have asked for a beer from the drinks trolley however i wanted a vodka and tomato juice I couldn't see any so didn't bother asking"
Pros: "The seat I got was certainly comfortable enough."
Cons: "The staff was not enough particular in delivering appropriate food to correct people. In flight KL to Auckland, vegan food was served when Indian vegetarian food was requested. Long queues at boarding in KL."
