You’ll find the best waterparks in Italy scattered all around the country. This makes it easy to reach one from virtually all the major cities that have international airports. Some are in these main urban centres, while others are in smaller coastal cities. No matter where you land, you can hire a car and drive to a waterpark in a few hours.

Italy has a wide variety of waterparks. These range from smaller traditional waterparks to modern waterparks that are part of large amusement complexes. These have all manner of rides, with intimidating names that your kids won’t be able to resist. It’s up to you whether you join them or prefer to watch from the relative safety of a refreshment outlet.

Best waterparks in Italy near Rome

Hydromania

Rome has two major waterparks; Hydromania is the larger one of the two. It covers over 950,000 square feet and has a large number of swimming pools, including a wave pool. For pampering, there are no less than three hydro-massage pools. The kids can take on the water slides, and if you want to keep your fitness up on holiday, there’s also a half-Olympic pool.
Hydromania has a constant list of organised activities on offer, suitable for all ages. This includes water games with prizes to be won, group water dances, and water aerobics lessons. For refreshment, you can look to one of several bars and a self-service restaurant. It’s one of the best waterparks in Italy, and you’ll find it on Vicolo del Casale Lumbroso.

Zoomarine Italia

Zoomarine Italia is a combination of a theme park and a waterpark. There are lots of rides here and a waterway that you can travel along in log-shaped boats. There are also slides galore and organised games for children. Adults seeking more sedate activities can relax on a sunbed, sit in whirlpools, or take a therapeutic shower.

There’s a lot more on offer here, too, making Zoomarine one of the best waterparks in Italy. For the brave, there’s a 4D drop tower that’s over 80 feet high, and you can watch professional divers plummeting from the top in thrilling exhibitions. There are marine life shows, too, including dolphins and sea lions. It’s on Via dei Romagnoli, in the Torvaianica neighbourhood. Best waterparks in Italy near Naples

Isola Verde Acqua Park

Located in Salerno, on the coast to the east of Naples, this is one of the best waterparks in Italy for the whole family to visit together. It offers an unusual combination of swimming pools, pizzerias, bars and tobacconists. The youngest kids can take part in lagoon games, adults can enjoy hydromassages, and there’s a river pool with doughnuts in which to lounge. Drive to Pontecagnano Faiano to find it.

Valle dell’Orso Naples

Valle dell’Orso offers a combination of a waterpark and a wellness centre, alongside an event centre and an adventure park. There are wave pools and exciting water eruptions to thrill the kids, as well as water toboggan rides. There’s also a chill zone, where you’ll find serene picnic areas or can enjoy a nurturing hydromassage. It’s in the Torre del Greco neighbourhood of Naples, on Via Giovanni XXIII.

AcquaPark Odissea 2000

This is one of the best waterparks in Italy, in the south-eastern town of Rossano, which you can reach in about 3 hours by road from Naples. It’s also one of the largest and offers kids’ rides with irresistible names like the Skyron Rocket, the Krono Kamikaze and the Titano Roller. Younger ones can play in safe paddle pools, and you can relax in a deckchair while keeping an eye on them. It’s located on Contrada Zolfara in Nausicaa Villaggio, Rossano.

The best waterparks in Italy near Milan

Acquatica Park

This is the most popular waterpark near Milan, on its south-western outskirts and within easy driving distance. It has a range of age-rated water slides, to keep everyone nice and safe, and a baby lagoon. It’s located on Via Gaetano Airaghi. Note that it’s only open in summer, from June to September.

Ondaland

This is another huge waterpark, covering over 1.5 million square feet, making it one of the largest and one of the best waterparks in Italy. It has a range of sectors, each with its own theme. The Water Adventure area has over 15 water slides and other attractions; the Kids Area has playground equipment; the Sport & Wellness area offers therapeutic water activities. You can get there by heading to Via Case Sparse, in Novara, about 45 minutes from central Milan by car.

The best waterparks in Italy near Venice

Aqualandia

Venice is where you’ll find Italy’s most popular waterpark, which has also found itself included in official lists of the world’s best waterparks: Aqualandia. It’s been voted top of the waterparks in Italy many years over. You’ll find it on Via Michelangelo Buonarroti, in the coastal village of Lido di Jesolo, which is just under 30 miles from Venice.

Aquafollie

Aquafollie is one of the more traditional waterparks in Italy, located on Viale Aldo Moro. It’s designed for all ages, with kids’ water slides, fun activity areas and organised games in the kids’ club. You can either relax in a deckchair or take an AquaGym class. This waterpark is only open from the beginning of June to around the middle of September.

Caribe Bay

Caribe Bay is a wonderful pirate-themed waterpark that children absolutely love. There’s a small pirate cove and lots of thrills and spills to be had on the trails and jumps. If you’re really feeling adventurous, you can even go bungee jumping. Caribe Bay fully deserves a place amongst the best waterparks in Italy, not least for its enchanting Caribbean Island design and atmosphere.

The best waterparks in Italy near Pisa

Acqua Village Follonica

Acqua Village Follonica, in Livorno, is a little different to most of the other best waterparks in Italy, given its tropical theme. It also has some of the most elaborate facilities, like a multi-track slide that starts 60 feet high. There are wave pools and hydromassage pools, set in wonderful green scenery.

The waterpark offers far more, too. There are daily contortionist shows and children can take circus lessons. Beach volleyball is also available, and for refreshments, you’ll find an ice-cream shop, fast food, a fruit shop and bars. Livorno is just under 30 minutes from Pisa by car, so you can fly in and stay there.

Aquafan

Aquafan was one of the first water-themed amusement parks in the country and remains one of the best waterparks in Italy. It’s another vast one, measuring over a million square feet. It’s evolved from a traditional park to one of the most modern in the country, hosting what purports to be the biggest foam party in the world, featuring international DJs. You’ll find it in the town of Riccione, on Viale Ascoli Piceno; Bologna is the nearest major city.

Caneva the Aquapark

If you’re looking for more thrilling rides, one of the best waterparks in Italy for daring visitors is Caneva the Aquapark, near Lake Garda. It’s hugely popular with locals and tourists alike, thanks to the wide variety of experiences on offer. Rides like Twin Peaks and Stukas Book beckon those with a strong constitution, and once you’ve had enough, you can go next door and visit Movieland. You’ll find this waterpark just off the A4/E70 highway from Verona – take the Peschiera exit to reach it most easily.
