Love the idea of camping under the stars but hate the thought of fumbling with a tent and a deflating air mattress? I feel you. Luckily, there is a solution: glamping.

There are plenty of glamping in the UK options – whether you fancy waking up to vistas of a Scottish loch or rolling English hills. From cosy cabins with hot tubs to glamping pods set in private woodlands, these are my selection of the very best Glamping UK options – including some of my personal, tried, and tested favourites.

First things first, what is Glamping?

Glamping, short for ‘Glamorous Camping,’ is a way to experience the great outdoors with far more comfort than traditional camping. Glamping is camping prepared for you; whether you’re staying in a luxury tent, yurt or a futuristic ‘pod’ or ‘dome’. Luckily, there is a bunch of great glamping options in the UK.

What to take glamping?

Most glamping sites will have amenities on-site or within your accommodation, including flushing loos, hot showers, power outlets and kitchen facilities. Of course, for many, the most important feature is a proper bed and mattress to sleep comfortably on. Some sites will ask you to bring your own bedding and towels. Usually, though, all you’ll need to do is bring yourself!

Glamping holidays in the UK

Glamping in the UK is becoming increasingly popular – and it’s easy to see why. It’s one of my favourite ways to soak up the UK’s rural gems without compromising on comfort. More and more glamping sites keep popping up, with costs ranging from around £100 a night to about £600 a night depending on your desired level of luxury.

Want to keep it low cost? Consider looking for midweek stays as they will often be cheaper than weekend trips. As we all know too, the UK weather can be unpredictable. Remember to pack sunscreen and rain gear at whatever time of year you’re travelling.

Best glamping options across the UK: from yurts and domes to pods with hot tubs

From the rolling hills and breathtaking coastlines of England and Northern Ireland to the peaks and islands of Scotland and Wales, glamping options in the UK are numerous and varied.

Here are 10 options, perfect for experienced glampers, dog owners, families, friends and romance alike.
