Today Bing announced KAYAK as their travel technology partner.
Since launching in 2009, Bing has relentlessly innovated the search market with a new and different experience that focuses on helping people make faster, more informed decisions. Along the way, they’ve been partnered with some amazing vertical partners including Facebook, Twitter, and Wolfram Alpha, just to name a few. This partnership is a great endorsement of KAYAK as a leading innovator in online travel.
In the coming weeks we’ll provide Bing with flight search results from multiple cities, airports and airlines. Going forward, Bing will have access to all of KAYAK’s travel search services globally.
Here’s how Bing describes the partnership: “Bing Travel is getting more powerful and comprehensive when it comes to helping customers plan and book travel. When combined with Bing’s own tools and technologies such as Price Predictor, rate indicator, flexible search tools and Flight Answers, we are really doubling down on giving customers the tools to make faster, more informed travel decisions,” said Krista Pappas, Global Travel Industry Director at Bing.
We’re looking forward to benefiting from Bing’s global reach and innovation in general search. We’re already evaluating replacing our current map content with Bing maps (and we’re going around the office making sure everyone has Bing selected as the default search engine on their browsers).
