Only stayed one night the rooms where tied and the carpets stained in the hallways breakfast area hot and overcrowded food was ok didn’t have lunch or dinner outside pool area looked ok and had a nice view just didn’t like the hotel stayed at the grand the night before then got moved to the Carlton these hotels where much better would come back to these hotels but not the casino

The location was great - near the centre of Funchal, but with sense of peace and calm. Good food, and the room was lovely - though I didn't sleep particularly well and I'm not sure why - the bed was comfortable.
Only problem was not sleeping well.

The bed was comfortable and the breakfast area and breakfast offered was excellent! Service in the restaurants was also very good.
The daily maintenance of the room was erratic , not consistent. Every day something was not on... bath or pool towels not replaced . Room not made. Room made but got a knock on the door for room to be serviced ? Service not very organized and didn’t get the impression that the bathroom was being refreshed every day - a little disappointing.

the rooms are a little outdated but the rest of the resort is perfect, staff were so kind and helpful, the only thing i didnt like was i used the ohone to call portugal the mainland and they charged me almost 90.00 american dollars the desk had said if i called portugal there was no charge and they charged me at checkout.
