7.1 Good
Pros: The location, property/rooms were stunning, very clean and modern. We stopped here one night on our way up from the east midlands to Glasgow, the owner was very welcoming when we first arrived and shown us to our room. A car is needed to travel anywhere but that wasnt a problem for us.
Cons: Food - stated a full English breakfast would be served in the morning. We went for breakfast at 8.30am and before we sat down the abrupt lady behind the counter said help your selfs here first then go sit down. Asked if we wanted tea/coffee ect and felt very rushed. She then said "Now its just a full English for breakfast" to which my partner said oh sorry is it ok if i could have no mushrooms or tomatos please and very sarcasticly got a reply of well what do you want then?! I felt the tension and i said he'll have just meat, toast, egg, no vegetables (typical man ay) When it arrived the 1 slice of toast you got each was cold, and my partner got 2 small slices of very over cooked bacon, a fried egg and 2 very small thin sausages. No hash browns, beans, nothing. I had just the standard breakfast and again mine, 2 rock hard bacon, 1 tiny sausage, an egg, 1 half grilled tomato and some mushroom which i didnt eat as i dont like them however felt too gulity to say after the way she acted earlier on when my partners asked for no mushrooms ect. Clearly our "Full English" has a different meaning down here than to up there. It was ok -

Pros: Lovely owners - the girl had left homemade rocky road with a welcome note - really sweet! The decor was fab. We'd booked two rooms as we were a party of 5 - both rooms very nice - beds were super comfy. Innovative bathrooms added to the rooms so both were ensuite.
Cons: There was quite a bit of noise later in the evening until about 1pm - sounded like some young girls running up and down the stairs screaming - it certainly disturbed my night sleep - people saying 'goodbye' loudly at 1am and doors slamming. Could have done without that - noone around in the mornig to mention it to. No-one else in the family cared though! Parking was on the street and needed a permit - but the owner sorted us out with one of those helpfully. Despite the noise it was all in all a really nice place to stay!

Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic place and host will definitely be back
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cornerways is a pleasant, spacious building, and has been well looked-after by the owner. Arriving to check in at 3pm as advertised, Adele (the owner) arrived a little breathless having experienced a 'bus "incident", but was a model host. The room was large, quiet and comfortable, and the breakfast outstanding. Carlisle is a pleasant (small) city, and Cornerways is ideally located to arrive - as we did - by train, and to explore - as we did - on foot. There are excellent restaurants nearby too.
Cons: There really wasn't anything to complain about! So we won't! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Cons: Signs pointing which number rooms were would've been helpful, although after the first time finding it; it was pretty easy to remember.

Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Really great host, really friendly and helpful, great central location and sparkling clean

Everything seemed like the very best quality and plenty of it and I’m a harsh critic. The best eggs benedict that I’ve ever had and the nicest blue cheese in the cheese board too. Lovely coffee.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Traditional style hotel and service, the sat afternoon have worked there for a long time and therefore care that the guests are being looked after. Very quiet location.
Cons: Although the squeaky floor boards are quaint they can be a bit of a nuisance at night!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was a little tired and needed some TLC however it was more than adequate for our stay, The hotel is carrying out many capital improvements and the total project should make this hotel one of the best in the area. The quality of the food is superb and all the staff go out of their way to please. Having a quality GM does make a difference.
Cons: It is easy to blame someone when works are being carried out on the site but I must say other than the leisure facilities undergoing a makeover and not available the smile on staff faces made up for most things.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The food served in Walton's bar was excellent, supported by great bar/kitchen staff! We also enjoyed a fabulous breakfast in the conservatory, it was just what we needed to kick start our day. Our room, which had a new walk-in shower with modern, quality, and comfortable feel to the bathroom. The bedroom was warm and comfortable with adequate storage facilities for our two night stay.
Cons: During our visit, we couldn't ignore the building work, that said, I believe it is due to finish at the end of November(possibly December?). Hopefully, we'll be back when it is all done and dusted. Also, on the downside, we experienced a fair bit of noise from the bar (which we slept above) on the Sunday night, a tiny bit of an issue! Then on the second night we couldn't really ignore the creaking of the floor boards from the upstairs room. Finally, in the morning, we heard a fair bit of noise from the leaf blowing machine at the property opposite?! Timing is everything! Perhaps, we'll keep away from this part of the hotel next time?
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Charming room with nice complimentary bathroom and tea/ coffee making accessories. Comfortable bed with nice linens. Food ( both dinner and breakfast ) were super.
Cons: There was nothing which we did not like.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and grounds are stunning. The staff are lovely and helpful. The rooms are beautiful, clean and well decorated. Our room (number 5) was spread across two floors of the tower connected by a stone spiral staircase, loved this layout. It was like living in a fairytale. Lovely surprise finding a social space for guests with a pool table, few board games and books about the hotel. Good selection of drinks at bar and not extortionate prices.
Cons: Huge gorgeous bathroom let down by a shower with little power and no heat. Vegetarian/vegan/gluten free/ other dietary requirements not clear on menus and also limited choice. We ended up going to a pub down the road with more options. £15 per person far too excessive for the bog standard breakfast received. Didn't sleep well as mattress was as soft as a marshmallow though that's more about preference.

Pros: This hotel is 5 star plus its a top of the range hotel faultless
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Food was very good, a nice pub.
Cons: Bed so uncomfortable I had to sleep on the floor, the noise from the kitchen, and I travel frequently so take ear plugs always, was unbearable...the last night despite having paid I slept in my car!! Great pub, great food, dont expect any sleep though. No response from the pub when I emailed, no one there in the morning to help hence I checked out a day early...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here for a family wedding and was allowed check in early and check out late which was great. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was great with even a gluten free full English and perfect milky coffee. Great place would love to go back and stay and spend some time in the the Hotel.
Cons: It was a bit cold in the room and in bed

Cons: Rooms a little cramped but bed v comfy

Pros: With only 2 months to go I'd rate this place as my find of the year. Located in a village only 6 miles outside Carlisle, it is easy travelling in and out. The Pub is traditional. Has a good range of Beers, Ales and Lagers that would suit any taste. The regulars are friendly and engage in conversation easily around the open fire that was fuelled up on a very frosty night (-2). The food is also very good; a wide choice of traditional pub food combined with many dishes you'd find in a restaurant menu. The breakfast is the best I have had in a long time. Good quality ingredients well cooked and prepared. The room I had was really big. Had a large comfy double bed, plenty hanging space, 40" flat screen TV, and the usual hospitality tray including biscuits. The bathroom was fantastic.....looked like something out of a showroom; everything polished, gleaming and spotlessly clean. I can recommend the Fox and Pheasant to anyone.
Cons: Looking at the place in my rear view mirror

Pros: Very comfortable generally, single bed a bit tight for me! Breakfast good. Owner was kind and helpful.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Adele was very friendly and welcoming! The bed was really comfy. First time in a b&b so was a bit anxious but it's so much better than staying in a branch hotel, it feels more homely and you feel cared for rather than just a number. Thank you it was awesome!
Cons: Signs pointing which number rooms were would've been helpful, although after the first time finding it; it was pretty easy to remember.
