The staff was friendly and helpful, rooms adequately clean, and the location close to the mountain village was convenient. The area was pedestrian friendly and we enjoyed walking around the area.
The breakfast was lacking in variety and quality. A waffle maker would be a welcomed addition. The property is older and definitely showing it's age and lack of quality construction.
I would not recommend this hotel for any reason. Steamboat has both condos and hotels for less money
Broken toilet, cracked floor, strong odor in room. Broken furniture.
Friendly staff. Walking distance to a lot of things. Area was beautiful.
They say they are pet friendly but they don't tell you until you arrive that you are not allowed to leave your dog in the room unattended. "Pet friendly" is a little deceiving and it made the stay a little more difficult. I would have liked for them to let us know about this ahead of time. Pet fee was reasonable though!
Great hotel location for skiing but we were not th
It is an okay hotel with everything you need as well as free continental breakfast.
It is away from downtown steamboat springs and we would have to drive quite a distance for everything. We stayed at the hotel when the ski season was just over. There is no restaurant and nothing to do around the lift base area and we need to drive to downtown for food and supply.
Close to the base
A tad noisy due to small children running the halls and numerous babies
Old and needs updating
Best part was the comfortable blanket. Location great ..by gondola.
Everything else.. I rate location a 10. Everything else a 1. Very uncomfortable bed. Pool looked dirty. Floor and carpets very worn.. Clunker tvs and clunker computers in lobby that looks like 20 yrs old...room compatible to a motel 6 or worse..way overpriced in my opinion...
Friendly people and excellent location
It isn't fancy, but it is a great place to stay. The location couldn't be better - just walk outside to the lift or play on the creek or eat at restaurants. A short bike or car ride will take you downtown. The staff is so helpful and friendly. Really happy we stayed there.
Wifi was spotty at best in an area where cell coverage is the same.
Free breakfast and very friendly staff.
The decor in the room was dated. They had a tube TV and a VHS player.
Staff was very friendly.
Was in poor maintenance. Ugly old carpet. Bed was very hard.
Steamboat Springs is a beautiful ski town in the mountains of Colorado. The Ptarmigan Inn is located in the quaint little village below the lifts. The location is very popular in the winter and spring, but it also offers a lot in the warmer months of the year.
This hotel has 77 rooms, of which some offer ski-in/ski-out access. During the summer months, that same access can be used for bike-in/bike-out. Rooms are equipped with refrigerators, private bathrooms, TVs, coffeemakers, hair dryers, and blackout drapes to hold out the light in the morning. The rooms can be chosen with one bed or two. There are cribs available upon request.
Guests can have breakfast in the morning at The Ptarmigan Inn for a charge. There is a restaurant on-site and a bar. There’s also a microwave in a common area for all guests to use. Steamboat Springs has many dining options that aren’t far away at all. The bottom of the slopes area has many bars and grills and specialty restaurants an arm's length from this hotel. There is a free shuttle that runs through the main drag of the town also so guests can have access to the entire place.
Skiing and snowboarding are available all throughout the winter months. There are many days when there’s live music playing in the lower lift area. The summer brings about time for mountain biking, hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities. This town is beautiful in the summer just without the snow.
Steamboat Springs offers a world of things to do for travelers who want to visit at any time of year. From snow sports to river sports, The Ptarmigan Inn gets guests access to everything with ease.
