  • Night owls looking to stay in the thick of things need look no further than Avenida Dr. Francisco dà Carneiro, a busy nightlife area known as the Strip. The liveliest hotels are found along its southern end, in Areias de São João.
  • For families looking for a calmer vibe, quieter accommodation can be found along the Strip’s northern end, in the laid-back neighbourhood of Montechoro.
  • Those searching for an all-inclusive holiday on the beach will find it along Albufeira’s golden coastline. Hotels in developed eastern areas like Praia da Oura, just off the Strip, or Praia de Valesia, offer excellent value.
  • If you prefer your beaches quiet and cove-like, Praia de Galé to the west of Albufeira features an array of 4-star and 5-star resort properties.

  • An authentic stay in Portugal, can be enjoyed in a rural farmhouse. Traditional properties like Quinta Do Mel, just outside Albufeira, offer a quiet break away from the crowded resorts while still providing access to the beach and outdoor activities.

NAU Salgados Palm Village Apartments & Suites8.4/10 ratingout of 6 reviewsGalé · £136 avg price/ night
PROS: the bed was comfortable but it seemed to have a plastic cover on the mattress. the room was spacious but no kettle etc. Reception and bar staff were very good and friendly and efficientCONS: food mostly poor, meat overcooked.and cold, no warm plates. out of 10 pools they should have one quiet/adult only pool .Need more parasols. The one plug socket I could use was loose in the wall. Not good value for money. Complex far from anywhere.

PROS: Amazing hotel... Good staff, excellent facilities, service and food. Overall, a wonderful stay. The grounds are also beautiful, with access to a wonderful beach.CONS: I wish the hotel was further to the east near Tavira/Vila Real. I know this is not the hotel's fault, but Albufeira was a bit of a hell hole over-run with the worst kind of package holidaymakers. With that said, you have everything you need at the hotel, so it should not be an issue.
