The location couldn't be more ideal. The rear opens up to the beach and there was a great amount of privacy It was unfortunate that the weather was terrible.
Unfortunately, the bad severely outweighs the good. First when I checked in, I was sent to the wrong room which was already occupied. Don't know why how that could be mixed up. There are two towers and we were placed in the ground floor in the older tower. I had already put in a request for a non-ground floor room, but clearly that wasn't honored. The older tower looked unfinished inside and out and the elevator looked old and ratty when walking by. There was a stain on the fitted sheet that appeared to be urine, and we had to take that sheet off. It was called in, hoping that it would be changed, but we're not 100% sure anything was changed as it may have dried up while we were out. Lastly, I didn't understand the COVID protocols, now that all fully vaccinated individuals can go mask-free. Obviously we can't prove that from visitors, but nothing was being enforced. I didn't see many staff members wearing masks either. I assumed that housekeeping cleaning would return back to normal, but it wasn't being done because of "COVID". So - nothing public is being enforced, but the buck stops at housekeeping? We called for towels, but they weren't sent, as promised, and we had to go to the front desk. All in all, I just didn't feel the hotel disrespected the health and safety. We'll stay elsewhere next time.
Beach was nice surf club ocean grill restaurant food was great
Pool was a swamp, rooms were unfit and nasty, we had to be moved to a different room and it wasn't any better I could go go on but needless to say they ended up discounting our stay by 25% but should have comped the whole stay
Dirty and needed work
They upgraded us for free. The oceanfront view.
Housekeeping rarely came. Never could get them to change the bedding or sweep the floors. The place was very dirty. Elevators stopped working at times. Had to ask housekeeping multiple times for towels and toilet paper.
The view of the beach was amazing
Visible water damage and smell of mold. Overall dirty feeling, especially for high off season price I expected more. Beds horrible. There was a metal part of the bed frame that stuck out and hurt me and my child.
we could check in early. location quiet, shuttle to the entertainement/boardwalk very nice beach pet friendly (we did not have a pet)
poor room service not enough towels (3 in a 4 person room) telephone not answered
The sheets were dirty and when housekeeping came in to change them. The new sheets had a bug crawling on it as they were putting them on
They gave us connecting rooms as requested. All the staff was a delight.
My husband and I came with our son and his family. This was the grandchildrens first time at the ocean. We ask for an earlier check in when we booked but no one at the desk had record of it. I emailed them and also spoke to them weeks prior to coming. Also the indoor pool was closed. This was one of the reasons we picked the hotel. Very disappointing for the kids.
Courteous & friendly staff
In room coffee was not refreshed every day. I had to call housekeeping. They delivered coffee but no cups.
Room was clean
When we rented the room it said waterfront . We got a side view of the water front . Not what was expected. We were put in the "Tower" I hope this is not used for manorties. Disappointed
2 Roaches, No hot tub
Easy check-in with friendly and efficient staff. Room was standard c.1980s, but that's no problem with me, as furnishings were slick, clean, and undamaged. Bed was extremely comfortable, and heater (though a bit noisy) did a great job keeping the room comfortable. Outstanding location and environment, sufficiently removed from the central blocks of busy tourism with a broad semi-private beachfront. Oceanfront room had a 180º panoramic view w/ small private balcony. Water was wonderfully hot, and fridge wonderfully cold. No microwave.
Within minutes I got changed into my swim trunks, ready to enjoy the hot tub advertised on the website as an amenity. NOT IN OPERATION was the sign greeting me there. The indoor pool (thankfully vacant) was adequately warm, with depths ranging from 3-4.5 feet. Additional disappointment came when 2 roaches greeted me in my room's sink, a surprise given the otherwise spotless condition of the room. I expressed these concerns upon checkout, and was told the inoperative hot tub was posted on their website. Well, I didn't see it before arriving, and I can't find it today...a day after checking out. Was given an "I'm so sorry...did you notify the desk?" about the roaches. I typically pack a fogger when I travel, but this was a short 2-night stay, and I didn't want to evacuate the room for those 4 hours of fog. Next time, I'll pack the fogger and splice that 4 hour vacancy into my plans.
Hot tub/indoor pool
Prices of the soda vending machines and restaurant breakfast. Not having a guide for channels in the room.
