Good 7.0
Pros: The location and the beach ⛱😎👌😍
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amazing location, the best sunset of the Island and totally good vibes!!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Mattias and Riki made us feel at home.....nothing was too much bother.....we really appreciated the use of the bicycles for free......although 1 speed and not new we managed to get all over the island with them.....great advice from the hosts on what to see and do......we also appreciated their awareness of the fragile island environment and the need to live sustainably on Aitutaki.
Cons: We thought everything was appropriate for a rustic beach house experience.....for example the 2 shared toilets were incredibly clean and the drinking rainwater was great.....but the showers understandably did not have a lot of pressure.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: As our first trip after the pandemic, popping over from NZ and arriving at Matriki Huts was the most amazing feeling. The location was more than we had hoped. You step out of your hut and you are right on the beach in front of a crystal clear lagoon. We stayed in the upstairs of the treehouse and loved the rustic vibes. It's simple but it's all it needs to be as you spend so much time outdoors. The feeling of the place is the best part, it has a real community feel. We spent alot of time chatting with other guests, we even had a happy hour one evening after our snorkel trip. There is only a handful of huts so there was only 6 - 8 of us staying there which was lovely, much nicer than the busy resorts nearby! Would highly recommend the Matriki Snorkel boat trip, it was the most amazing day out on the lagoon!
Cons: Nothing, we absolutely loved our stay and would come again!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great beach for swiming and paddle boarding . Could walk to at least 3 places for dinner. Bikes available free of charge.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Mat and Riki are amazing hosts. Highly recommend.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Super, friendly, attentive and helpful operators. Clean facilities. Great value and situated on the beach.
Cons: Beach was a bit hard to swim at on account of the sea cucumbers but other places to swim on the island so no biggie
Excellent 9.2
We had a great stay at the beach shacks and would recommend to stay here. The only thing I would recommend is if the owners can’t book you a boat tour and confirm a date prior then book elsewhere as had a nightmare with bad weather and almost didn’t make it out onto the lagoon and motus even though I had emailed weeks prior to our arrival to try and organise, I managed to amend flights and get out in the end and it was stunning!!
Excellent 9.4
Pros: Couldn't have ask for a better beachfront hut if we tried. Great beach and snorkeling right outside the front door... and like others have said, we too think it was the best beach on Aitutaki! Great access to local shops and stores for all that you need and a basic, but functional, little kitchenette perfect for breakfast and lunch to keep the budget on track. Bicycles for Island exploring and Paul (Lisa was out of "town" during our stay) was always available to answer questions or book activities as needed. All the amenities you could ask for in a true AFFORDABLE little beach hut! Thanks for a great stay Paul - we'll DEFINITELY be back!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great beach location Good to have the bikes which is the only transport needed Nice rooms
Cons: Quite expensive but reasonably priced food.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: breakfast superb, a la carte, available of sports equipment, very comfortable accommodation
Cons: get rid of the roosters!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful location and charming accommodation.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The Villa was excellent - right on the beach with beautiful views.
Cons: Needed a few more paddles for the kayaks.
Good 7.0
Pros: The room had a comfy bed, good fitout and porch.
Cons: Not enough privacy between bungalows, maybe more landscaping / gardens.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amazing resort in an unbeatable location... Beautiful rooms and facilities right on the edge of a wonderful lagoon, with paddleboarding, kayaking and snorkeling at your doorstep. The restaurant is pretty good, the island night was loads of fun. If you want to relax this is your place.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Authentic, friendly island hospitality. This is the only locally owned resort on the island, so if conscious consumerism is your thing, know that your $$$ are going back into the island and it's people, not to offshore owners. Restaurant had good food and the island night was amazing - the most enjoyable I've been to in the Pacific. It wasn't a kitschy, touristy "island culture" show, but felt like an authentic celebration of food, family and performance. Although it was only the second island night since Covid struck in May 2020, the performers and staff of Tamanu did incredibly well. Whares were well laid out, spacious and had everything needed. The proximity to the sea and the privacy was unexpected and appreciated. Pool was immaculately clean and chemicals were beautifully balanced - no chlorine smell or sore eyes.
Cons: The only thing that could be improved here, is a place for teens to hang out. Apart from lounging on the beach or by the pool, there is little "third space" that teens can hang... the whares are wonderfully private, but in this respect, it hinders the ability for teens to "bang" into each other. A pool table and/or table tennis table with some chairs/tables/couches around would be a great addition. Or a volleyball net and ball? Perfect area between restaurant and carpark for it. Hint hint.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Annie and Maria are absolute gems! We loved how the resort is so small and friendly - we’re not fans of the big busy places. The villas are all stand alone and very spacious – some people have said basic, but hey, it’s Aitutaki, who’s staying inside anyway, it has a fridge for the champagne what more do you need! Super clean, comfortable, fantastic location right on the beach, omg the colour of that water …. Best (and cheapest) Pina Colada I had anywhere. Only downside is that we weren’t there for longer. Thanks for making my birthday so special. Definitely coming back. Soon.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: I was a little apprehensive due to some poor reviews. Ignore them. Changes have been made and I found that the issues people complained about no longer existed. The pickup and drop off at the airport went very smoothly. Reception and management - Maria was excellent. Very informative, friendly and cheerful. Her communications by email before we arrived were excellent. Unprompted she asked about any dietary requirements and arranged for the local bakery to bake a special loaf of gluten free bread for my wife. On enquiring about a tour of the island, Maria arranged one of the staff, Allie, to take us around for a private tour for nearly two hours at no cost. Allie was able to answer all of our questions and we also had time for a walk around the main village area. The Blue Lagoon in-house restaurant breakfasts were perfectly fine continental style. Three cereals and at least 3 fruits - usually pawpaw, guava, passionfruit, banana and coconut. yoghurt. Bread for toast and butter with a choice of 3 toppings. When any item ran out the staff on duty were happy to provide a fresh batch. The evening meals were of a slightly better standard than the nearby Boatshed restaurant. We ate twice at both places. The service at both was equally excellent. The sunsets were amazing. The swimming off the beach was excellent. We swam twice most days.. Coral sand underfoot so no need for reef shoes. There were always loungers free. Beach towels were provided in the villa as well as bathroom towels. Kayaks also available at no cost. The villa was very good. Basic but everything you needed. A good size with both overhead fan and air conditioning. Bathroom adequate with plenty of hot water and satisfactory shower pressure. The large king bed was a little firm for our taste but no so much as to cause a problem. The villas are far enough a part to ensure privacy, yet the setting provides a village atmosphere which encourages social interaction between the guests.
Cons: On 2 nights the Blue Lagoon had no fish on the menu. Bed a fraction firm. The price was expensive compared to Rarotonga but that goes for all of Aitutaki.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Staff are fantastic. Excellent room, shower etc. Food and drink very reasonably priced (cheaper than NZ). Great restaurant location over water and close to other options.
Cons: Beachside lounges were a bit hard
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Wonderful staff and atmosphere, really made us feel at home and went over and above to make sure all our needs were met; good local information; lovely food although not a large selection; all staff welcoming, friendly and efficient; accomodation very comfortable; individual 'villas' well planned and positioned so didn't feel on top of one another; certainly would recommend and definitely hope to return in the future.
Cons: Really cannot think of anything
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The manager and staff were brilliant. Lovely beach and environment.
Cons: All good.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The best evening meal we had in the Cook Islands. Very well priced too
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We received the most outstanding service from Maria during our 4 night stay. She was so helpful and attentive, and went above and beyond. The best service I have received in any accommodation I have stayed.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The owner and staff and family were amazing and super helpful

Excellent 9.0
Pros: staff warmth and service. location is very private and clientele is quality too. no loud trashy types
Cons: food could have more options. prices for rooms too high. Bedoorms and bathrooms are a bit dated and could be more resort like.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Warm & friendly but by far the most comfortable property in Aitutaki and superb restaurant
Cons: Didn’t have a cultural night or any form Of activities I.e yoga etc.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful bungalows. All staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the massage was amazing. We loved the pool area, and restaurant.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Beautiful grounds, very comfortable and well appointed rooms. Exceptional service and friendliness from all the staff. Great location to the lagoon. We loved the peace, quite, and privacy. No dogs policy. It was nice to motorbike around island without worry of dogs barking or running after you. This was our 7th time to Aitutaki but haven't been here in 20 years. It still has it charm and warmth it had way back then. We went to Church on Sunday and the singing was magnificent their voices are so beautiful. Aitutaki is such a special place in our hearts. We do plan to return to Pacific Resort Aitutaki.
Cons: Our beds were a bit on the hard side. The food was good to very good and value was fair and wine prices were dear. We thought the menu could use more selections. But overall the experience was very good to excellent.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: First class facilities. Magnificent location and views. Friendly efficient happy staff
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.6
Pros: All meals, including breakfast were of a very high standard. The service was very friendly and generally to a very high standard. We enjoyed the poolside cocktails, snorkelling and kayaking in the lagoon and exploring the island by bicycle and scooter. We were able to find swimming beaches and experience local cafes and fast food when exploring, with the promise of absolute comfort on our return.
Cons: One problem we experienced on our second night was, despite a specific request, a spicy meal being served to someone who is spice intolerant and could not eat the meal. The staff were very apologetic. We were not quite as satisfied with the Bishops cruise to One Foot Island. The snorkel gear was old/broken and dirty (mouthpieces and screens) - detergent not supplied to clean the screen with: so we could not enjoy the snorkelling as much. The food was disappointing and so was the absence of water from what is included in the tour. - Just charge a bit more (if you need to) and include it!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: This acconodation was everything we needed
Cons: I have visited Ginas garden for quick a few times now. The whole place looks better every single time i come back, fresh green paint on railing, lot of landscaping done, fresh towels and. Bananas regulary. Thank you for everything Sally!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Nice garden lodges in the middle of the island (you need a car or scooter to visit the beaches and rest of the island). Lovely host, very peaceful, at 6am the roosters will be starting to get active (just like on the rest of the island). Managed to arrange a motorbike, took less then a minute to arrange! Nice unit, clean, amazing garden. Nice cafe on a 2 minute drive. Excellent value for money
Cons: Internet (3g) choppy, but in Aitutaki you need to maximise your off-line time anyway!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Beautiful settings well presented functional room... plenty of space . Close to Tekings lagoon tours pick up and drop off
Cons: A little far away from town .. could have easily been negated by providing a bicycle. Pool wasn't working
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Awesome
Cons: Bed a bit short
Excellent 8.0
Pros: It is located in a garden so it is beautiful to be around all of the Greenery. It is a lot of space for the price
Cons: Difficult to get around the island from here by foot
Excellent 8.3
Pros: As described, great low budget accommodation. Best on the island.
Good 7.1
Pros: Facilities good to use although old time. Plenty of hot water.
Cons: Cleanliness can be improved. Ants everywhere and some giant cockroaches, even crawling on to bed and into suitcases, house should be fumigated before receiving guests. Mosquito killing incense is being provided.
Okay 5.4
Cons: The toilet seat needs replacing, the towels were marked and needed to be renewed as the fan needs to be upgraded the light oven the bed needs a shade to stop the glare the dangerous corner coming into the property needing clearing ,

Good 7.0
Pros: Nice beach and lagoon view
Cons: Very old facilities Even at first day I called them 2 times to fix shower hot water For 3 days internet completely disconnected The kitchen and food are below average they haven't have a coffee maker to serve customers The staff not trained well to serve guests For sure you don't service even u paid very high price
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Nice and private Island, very quiet and awesome for relaxation. Very friendly staff, clean facilities and so much more. Our overwater bungalow was amazing. Cannot fault at all. We were gutted we didn't have enough days to fully explore the island but will come back definitely.
Cons: More selection and quality of food and drinks is definitely needed but understand the situation we are all in. Staff and service were outstanding.
Excellent 9.6
Great location, staff and loved having bikes and kayaks to use. Only downside was the food - average quality and disappointing that the menu was the same as The Rarotongan
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Large property with magnificent views of the green/blue lagoon, good amenities and a nice laid back vibe.
Cons: Some buildings are getting a bit aged but still great feel to the place.
Poor 1.0
Pros: We liked the spacious gardens - that's all what's left of the former glory. Nothing else.
Cons: Oh boy. Where do I begin???? Non-existent room service. Dis-interested staff. Slooowww dinner service. The resort is just appalling and unpleasant. Everything about that place is just not nice.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Good location
Cons: Facilities very poor for the price, restaurant is really just a cocktail shack so meals are very hit and miss.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great location, very well kept, staff were ex room very clean and comfortable. Great for kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming. My husband and I stayed in buree 8 first then moved to an overwater buree 35 both were ex.
Cons: Not alot
Okay 5.0
Pros: The resort offered some of the best views of the Aitutaki Lagoon. The 2 person canoe was good as was the stand up paddle.
Cons: First issue was no drinking water available in rooms - I was told there was salt water in the water system and when I asked what we were to do for fresh water the answer was buy some from the shop at $7.00 a bottle. At no stage where we told that the system was fixed so we continued to buy fresh water to drink. We went to the restaurant for dinner twice - We were at the resort for 6 nights but chose to eat elsewhere after the kitchen lost our food order for 45 minutes and when the food did arrive it was stone cold. Second night we arrived for Happy Hour but no ice and no spirits except gin ! We stayed for the buffet dinner you had a choice of a few salads and/or rice and the waiter offered grilled fish, chicken or Steak. I chose the steak, which was thin and tough. It was a rainy night so the cultural show was cancelled as well. No Dessert offered No tea or Coffee. It was a substandard buffet Breakfast was included in the room rate was poor -3 of the mornings the food had run out by 9 am. Some of the food offered was a plain yoghurt and tinned fruit salad, boiled eggs, toast, cheese slices.
Excellent 9.6
Absolutely stunning in every single facet!!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Beautiful island paradise. From the very warm welcome from Maria and staff everything was just perfect. Must experience an overwater bungalow. Amazing and so beautiful.

Pros: The location straight on the beach with a swimming area before the coral start They gave a lot of fruit at your breakfast and because I have celiac the replaced my muesli with yoghurt. What I really appreciate. The free services to being you to town when you haven't rent scooter or car. The bar and food is great!!
Cons: Because of covid they can't replace or repair things at the moment. You can see at some spots that the hut needs updates. But don't want to complain because they did there best for everything.
Poor 1.0
Pros: The location
Cons: It was not as advertised!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The beach and palm trees
Cons: Friendly helpful staff

Pros: Beach and locations excellent
Cons: sandflies
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Every morning they would bring complementary breakfast to our room
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I LOVED this place! The view is GORGEOUS! It is an amazing value for your money and it is so secluded. The beach front is amazing and the location was very calm and quiet. The hut itself was great with an open balcony over the beach. Perfect for relaxing! The staff was amazing. I needed sunscreen and Aloe and the staff brought me some from home because the stores were closed. One of the staff members went out of his way and drove to me to deliver a message from a family member at home. They served a great local breakfast every morning at no extra charge. They also drove me directly to the grocery store from the airport so I could pick up supplies before my stay. They went above and beyond! I have nothing bad to say about this place.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The staff were terrific. The location right on the beach was just what we wanted. Small family run resort without the formality of larger operations. Picked up and returned to the airport was a nice touch.
Cons: The little rustic cabin could have been better maintained. Other than a very nice family restaurant next door the facility is quite a distance from stores etc. They do rent bikes and scooters on site.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I loved the location of the place and the rooms were just to my expectations. I loved the beach also and will be visitn again
Cons: nothing really
Excellent 10.0
These villas are fabulous, the location and view from the balcony was spectacular. Very peaceful and serene. The staff are lovely and the breakfast is a real bonus. A great choice!
Good 7.7
Pros: First off, the Paradise Cove Lodges are truly a wonderful budget option for Aitutaki. Many of the other places to stay are well above the very reasonable cost of the Lodges. The Lodges (beachfront ones) are very nice, clean, with a great ceiling fan, screens, kitchen facilities and a nice bed. Usually the ocean breezes keep you comfortable. They have a great balcony to watch the sunsets or for lounging around. The beach in front of the lodges is nice, but be sure you bring water shoes because there are lots of coral. There is a nice place to swim in front of the lodge (in fact folks came from places down the beach to swim here). The snorkeling is OK but compared to the other places to snorkel on the East side of the island in the stunning lagoon, there is no comparison. All in all, an nice budget option. The staff of the lodge are really nice and accommodating. They will go out of their way to help you. The restaurant serves good food, but in off season, it sometimes has sporadic hours. The drinks at happy hour are a good deal, especially the beer and wine. The breakfast we basic but they had good fresh fruit. And other than Puffy's (serving excellent fish and chips) there are no other close by places to eat. The paid Wifi at the reception area and restaurant worked very well.
Cons: Now the caveat - hot water. We did not have consistent hot water in the 9 days we were there. We were told a number of times they were working on it, but it got to be a bit of a pain (chill!) taking cold showers days after day. The hot water would sometimes come on for about 15 seconds, but that was usually it. In their defense, we used one of their family units the last day for late check out and we both had very nice warm showers, so I do believe them that they were working on fixing the problem (some parts of the property are on different hot water systems. Would I stay there again? Not until I got confirmation about the hot water. But next time we come back, we will probably go for a place on the East side (the lagoon side) of the island. But if you want a decent budget place to stay, I recommend the Paradise Cove.

Pros: Very friendly welcome/farewell at the Airport and the complimentary transportation provided both ways is a wonderful bonus. I'd mentioned previously it was my birthday holiday and there was a lovely surprise greeting printed out for me in the room. The buffet breakfast offers plenty of choice and is always fresh and tasty. It was good being greeted daily by Na (spelling?) who made the guest experience feel more personal. And Jenny in the office was very helpful in trying to organise a private boat trip for me. The Aitutakians are naturally super friendly people (e.g, they will stop to offer you a lift when they see you walking). My last two nights were upgraded to Room 8, directly overlooking the lagoon, and it was definitely worth my paying the supplement to escape the extreme humidity with air con during low season, and to relax in the shade with the tropical postcard views and the sounds of nature all around.
Cons: The ONLY thing was the noise from some heavy-footed guests pacing back and forth across their room above me while I was in Room 4 (hence my request to move to another room). But they did me a big favour in the end as I never would have discovered Room 8 otherwise...
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Got a very warm welcome from Nga, who picked us up at the airport and always made sure that we have everything we needed. The rooms were perfectly clean and serviced every day. The breakfast was delicious including pancakes, cereals, toasts, local fruits, juice and coffee and tea. We also rented a scooter for the whole week for a reasonable price. Thank you for everything!
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Can’t fault Rinos at all. Both Rino and Na were fantastic. If you’re considering staying anywhere else, don’t. This is the best Aitutaki experience you can have and the location gives you the best blend of island culture and relaxing paradise.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Family atmosphere, everyday cleaning, perfect breakfast. Thank you for everithing.
Cons: Just not best location, but you know before you book this accommodation.
Good 6.7
Pros: The bed was amazing and the breakfast was very big and delicious.
Cons: I was placed in bungalow 1, it was so windy the first day that I felt like the walls would fall down. The staff would come around 6 and they were chatting very loudly which would bounce off the walls and wake me up every day. They would also yell at some of the staff which made it very uncomfortable. I’m afraid I would not return here.
Mediocre 3.8
Pros: The fact that we had booked one night only and moved out of there fast
Cons: 1. Impossible to sleep with the noise of the roosters as of 5am. Plenty of them around the property 2. Too much noise from the road (adjacent to the property) 3. One lady of the staff is extremely rude
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location was amazing. Food was amazing. Staff were amazing - treated us like family.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Rino's staff make the stay, Nga and Ma and the team are welcoming, friendly, funny, caring, inviting, inclusive and a wealth of knowledge. They were more than willing to answer any questions, make any plans and give the best advice about the island and what was going on. The breakfasts are AMAZING! Pancakes, cereal, toast, coffee, island fruits fresh and tasty every day - but the best thing - EVER - is the freshly made juice, I wish I could have brought the recipe home. Having the rentals there also, just so accommodating and friendly. We had to change our rental plan and it was no issue at all. So easy. From the moment we got off the plane at Aitutaki and were greeted by Nga with the most fragrant fresh flower lei, and from then on things just got better and better. I am already making plans to go back within the next year and will definitely look to stay and Rino's again.
Cons: For what we wanted and needed, all expectations were blown out of the water in the best ways. It's mid range pricing with the best staff and great facilities. Nothing is far away on Aitutaki and the location is wonderful. I did run outta reading material on the one fully rainy day we had so maybe a few more books/magazines in the rooms or office would be cool (there was a few books lying around and some available at the store across the road)….other than that - hard to offer improvement advice.
