When it comes to driving around Porto Cervo and its surrounding areas, you’ll find that much like many Italian towns, the streets are narrow with tight bends. So naturally when navigating these streets it's best to opt for a compact-sized or medium-sized vehicle so you can negotiate turns and tight parking spaces with much more ease. Alternatively, considering the town is located on the beautiful Sardinian coast, choosing a convertible vehicle that allows you to drive with the top down in the sunshine is worth a shout.

When driving within and in the vicinity of Porto Cervo, it is crucial to observe the stringent speed regulations in effect. In urban regions, it is imperative not to surpass a speed of 50 km/h (31 mph), and you will encounter signs indicating this limit on most city streets and roads unless specified otherwise. Take note that in residential areas and near schools, speed limits are decreased to 30 km/h (19 mph), while on open roads on the outskirts of the town, you may drive up to 90 km/h (56 mph); however, caution should be exercised as certain road conditions may necessitate lower limits. Lastly, on motorways, the lawful speed limit is 130 km/h (81 mph).
