Pros: The staff did exchange our car for us when we brought it back after a day because it had a piece of the window missing.Cons: Staff was incredibly slow at pick-up. Plus, when we switched out our car they didn't carry over our satellite navigation that we originally booked, but we didn't want to wait another hour to try and get them to switch it.

Pros: Nothing.Cons: Rental desk was absolute chaos. No one had a car ready for them, and waiting 45 minutes for reserved cars led to a lot of frustration. When our car finally arrived it had not been washed and had 1/2 tank of gas, but no one said this to us. Customer service was poor.

I appreciated the labeling on the fuel tank so people can know what fuel to put in the carCons: I didn’t like that I was quoted one price online then given an inflated amount when I showed up in person. The woman who handled my rental knew I didn’t speak or write French but had me signing and reviewing documents in French.

Pros: Car was clean and comfortable. Mini Cooper had pep and speed that delivered on Germany’s Autobahn.Cons: Upon picking up the vehicle in Paris at the airport, I was told to hand-deliver my keys to a Sixt attendant at Munich’s airport. One problem: no Sixt attendants were working in Germany. When I visited the counter inside, an attended told me to take the keys back to the car as she couldn’t take keys.

Pros: Unbelievable nightmare with the return. The gas stations were all on strike and Sixt demanded triple the price of a full tank. When I took the car out again in search for gas, they changed an already approved undamaged car and claimed a scratch on the front bumper. Only one attendant was there.Cons: I would avoid their CDG location at all costs.

Pros: Martial, who helped us with our car return at the airport, was fantastic. He was wonderful, friendly, and warm, and explained everything to us very clearly. He made the process of returning the car quick so we could get to our airplane on time. Thank you, Martial!

Good car horrible staffPros: Car was great. Good on gas. Clean. Nice setup with Bluetooth, nav, etc. very responsive and quick. Two scratches which I noted to employee.Cons: The receipt was in French, obviously, and that not being my mother tongue and went to issues. I've Been renting Cars four times a month for 13 years. This was by far my worst experience and I've even had a rental car stolen before if that was easier. Since the reception location is quite removed from where the actual car is and I paid and got my receipt and then walked out to do my own inspection. I noted to scratches as the employee mention, one on the hood a very large one, and one on the front right bumper. I walked inside and asked if these were the scratches since again, the receipt is French and the scratches were noted in French. She'd knowledged that these were the two scratches so I took my car and left. After a week of business I returned an hour early yesterday to a very rude man would rather yell and shout at me for trying to turn in a scratched car and laughed when I told him I didn't understand the French on the receipt and that is why I asked when I originally rented it about the scratches. He said it was not his fault and not his problem that I was going to be charged for it regardless of if I had paid the €27 for the insurance. That like a typical American I was just trying to get something for free and put the problem on somebody else next time, that I didn't care about the other customers or his job. He continued to shout at me in the parking lot that it didn't matter how many pictures I took of it or that I had asked his fellow employee that it was still my problem and I would be held responsible regardless. He been snatched the keys out of my hand threw my receipts in my arms and told me to have a good day while saying something in Arabic to his friend who was hanging out with him near the booth.

OverchargedPros: car was as advertisedCons: Final cost was $50.42 higher than I was quoted. Also car required a chemical called adblue which I had to learn about and purchase or the car was going to become inoperable. I was told I would be reimbursed for the adblue, $17.26, and was not.

It was very clean, rode and drove very well, and looked good too!Cons: Pick up at the airport was not pleasant--the agent could not verify the insurance I already purchased for the rental car (he and she referred only to the 3rd party insurance); it was raining and no one helped us find the car quickly; and no one checked the car for damage (perhaps because it was raining).

The 4 phone lines we could find were either unattended at the time we called, or blocked to international callers (we have a US number). Other location in Dieppe was also closed.

Pros: Staff were helpful and nice enough. Service was okay given the location and time of day.Cons: We rented a van for 6 people. The cover for the back did not fit in with all the seats up, and we had to store it in our hotel as the rental staff would not take it from us. This was inconvenient, as we could not have fit 6 people in the car with the cover in place.

could not have been worseCons: Three charges appeared on my card. In addition I was sent a €300+ bill for damages that Indid not cause and that don't even appear to be damages. Moreover, the registration process was very disorganied and time consuming. Overall, this has been the worst car rental experience of my life.

Cons: They are accusing me to have stolen the air pomp. It was not even part of the tour when I was in Roissy. Now I have to deal with that issue. In addition I paid for 6 hours more than I usually pay for a week!

Pros: The staff was amazingly kind and helpful. The staff spoke English and never made me feel inferior for not speaking French.Cons: It was very difficult finding the storefront; we had to ask Budget for directions. The National office is tucked away deep inside of the building off of the ground floor with no signage on the street side. I recommend providing directions within the rental confirmation email.

Reserved a van - we don’t have vans at all ever - AWFULPros: Driving in FranceCons: Our reservation indicated a Mercedes style van, “or similar”. It specified 7 passengers plus 4 bags. I looked up the seating for the Mercedes model and our 6 passengers + bags would fit. Upon arrival National indicated they don’t have vans at all ever and we would have seen that from the website. What they had was a Ford Galaxy which had a 3rd row for either seating or luggage - not both. They blamed Kayak. I blame both as neither was interested in rectifying the situation. Never again.

Car was never ready or available even after 1 hour waiting. Charge the full amount plus plus and amount not yet refund though the promise to do it immediately.

Car not availableCons: When we arrived, our large family car was not ready even though we had mentioned our flight details. Very disappointing from Alamo, especially since we needed a large car fo the family and luggage. They offered a smaller car and still wanted to charge us extra! Normally, I am a happy customer of Alamo, but ;avoid the Paris Charles de Gaulle location. Very poor service and not up to Alamo's international standards.
