Pros (+) The greeting at Reception with hibiscus juice! The excellent service from all staff. The pool area in the courtyard surrounded with palms and plants. The gardens with Mayan sculptures. Mayan artifacts displayed all around the hotel. The cleanliness of all areas and the peacefulness.
Cons (-) The size of the room, a bit small but comfortable with everything you need.

Pros (+) We liked how close VA was to the ruins--you can walk to the back/side entrance! The room was quaint and pretty clean. The restaurant was hit and miss, but the shrimp ceviche, guac, spicy salsa, fresh made tortilla chips, and margaritas were the best I had during my stay in Mexico. The pool was pretty quiet, a nice little oasis after a hot day in the bustle of CI.
Cons (-) My main complaint is that one of the two days we stayed, the electricity was out for the majority of the morning and afternoon. We were told this would happen when we arrived, but we were merely informed, and no effort was made to compensate us for this huge inconvenience. We spent the morning at the ruins and returned during the hottest part of the day to no air-conditioning, no frozen margaritas...
