Pros: Breakfast was always delicious. Pastry du Jour was really nice to have as a snack throughout the day. I have a sweet tooth however, and one morning my partner was craving a savory breakfast option. The room and bathroom were clean and very comfortable. We hung out in our room for a good part of the day without feeling like an annoyance to the other guests.

Pros: High quality linens and toiletries, a wonderful fireplace, great skylights, outstanding food and a relaxing environment.

Cons: It is a house not a hotel therefor walls are house walls not hotels walls and you can hear things.

Pros: Idyllic setting, delicious breakfasts, Amanda was very accommodating of individual needs and requests, socially distanced seating arrangements out on deck and inside!

Pros: Very relaxing setting, even saw 2 beautiful deer walk out of the woods and come upto us on the deck. Relax Amanda and her breakfasts were amazing. Everything was so fresh and flavorful.

Cons: Due to the design of the building the window are covered for privacy. So you can't see out. Euro 1 had a peek through window. We had the communal lounge to ourselves with a lovely view of the water.

Pros: Several friendly pre-arrival texts to determine our arrival plans and provide necessary information. Actually talked with me on the phone for several minutes about activities and restaurants! A staff member immediately answered my text regarding early access to our garage parking spot since the ferry was running late and we had minutes to get to our whale watching boat when we docked. They had also texted me about the ferry schedule change. The staff here are the kind of professionals that I wish were everywhere. We stayed in Euro 4. It was spacious and clean with tasty treats in the refrigerator. Thank you, INN 123!

Pros: The location was just a short walk from Friday Harbor and in a quiet neighborhood. Our room (The Eagles Nest) had a view of the harbor. Nick and his family were gracious hosts. The breakfasts every morning were super tasty and unique compared to the normal eggs and sausage. Every morning there was a different freshly baked muffin or bread that was warm and delicious. In the afternoon their banana/chocolate chip cookies were so good we are still talking about them. Really enjoyed our stay!

Nick and fam are a font of information. The community created with the other guests is so welcome after 16 months in isolation. Walkable to Friday Harbor. Must try the banana chocolate chip cookies & homemade granola!

Pros: My husband and I decided to spend the night up in the San Juans and we are so glad we picked Hillside House. It is owned by a very nice couple it was cry well kept and the breakfast was delicious!

Pros: The host was amazing. He brought fresh-baked cookies to the room at 7 pm and played an informal concert of classical music on his amazing grand piano in the living room each evening, even offering a glass of wine at that time. He is an accomplished pianist AND is the mayor of the town. His friendliness and interest in our welfare, both general and in specific to our visit to FH, made us feel comfortable and "at home." The room itself had a good kitchenette with a refrigerator that actually kept things cold, unlike some other places where we stayed. A Keurig coffee system in the room meant that the coffee was tip top. Breakfasts were sumptuous and included offerings from a wide selection of recipes; the host obviously is a talented cook.

Cons: In our particular room there needs to be a little table or stand to hold toiletries. That is a very minor lack, easily corrected. Perhaps other rooms have them.

Pros: Breakfast was interesting and somewhat non-traditional. Room was immaculate. Host was friendly and very helpful.

Pros: The B&B is centrally located, walkable to town. Farhad, the host, serves a delicious, homemade breakfast with eggs from his chickens and fruits and vegetables from his garden. In the evening, he serves cookies to each room and guests are invited to hear him play the piano.

Cons: We had booked family suite so we were good as we had a separate entrance but was wondering how would other folks who had rooms within the property be able to take their dogs inside the rooms since dogs are not allowed in main room of the property even though it says pet friendly

Pros: Breakfast was wonderful Great Chef, all natural ingredients from the property including the eggs. the 7:30pm piano & wine was a huge bonus. The little dog Roxi was a sweetheart and fun to watch. We had the gGarden Suite ad it was gorgeous fully equiped. Faran was amazing on all levels justa terrific gentleman.

Cons: Our room inside was very clean but had an odor in the bathroom that was realy strong and in the room it smelled like animal. still We felt the rooms were very clean but they do allow pets. I suggest taking out all throw carpets in pet rooms. I dont want this to discourage you from staying at this remarkable place over all we would deffinetely reeturn.

Farhad was a most interesting host I’ve ever come across, a truly renaissance individual! He practically renovated his B&B with his own hands. He is a fabulous chief, a self taught pianist who also tunes and refurbishes the instrument, a gardener, an airplane pilot and, a 50 ton boat captain. My wife and I will definitely be back!!

Pros: The breakfast was great. They took my girlfriend's food intolerances into account. They didn't have cell signal, but the wifi signal was great. Our room had access to a hot tub. The innkeeper was very nice and was out of the way, to make you feel like it was your space for your stay. Equally between the harbors on either side of the island.

Cons: The trail to the parking area was tough to navigate around and between with a larger vehicle. I ended up backing into the exit to avoid making the loop. No complaints otherwise.

My wife and I had another wonderful experience! It was our second stay in March - both for one night. And both times we were upgraded to a room with an amazing view of the harbor! Staff is professional, helpful and friendly! Just a great place to stay! Thank you!

Cons: Perfect location in town, on a hill, looking over the beautiful harbor. Our room led out onto a grassy area set up with chairs and fire pits. Bar & restaurant were trendy and the food was very good. I would go back here in a minute!

Pros: The location is awesome and the breakfast delicious! The kitchen area was nice - we didn't use it though. This was a small place for 3 adults... better for a couple!

Cons: The room was quite small and a bit awkward. It was okay, but not particularly comfy... could have used a couch & comfy chairs. Beds okay, but again, not well set up. (When bed was pulled out, was in the middle of the room.) AND It was expensive - island prices here!

Pros: Every Detail was well thought out. There were creature comforts covered in every room, i.e. cotton swabs, makeup pads, tea, coffee coffeepot, coco, sweeteners, granola bars, filtered water, electric teapot, a dog treat, even a robe and a cookie for each of us. The items available were local business supported so as to give us a real taste of the area products. The décor and amenities were definitely over the top on a scale of 1-10 it's over. We will book again and tell everyone we know to visit this establishment.

Cons: Only thing we can think of is that the queen bed was against the wall so it made it hard to get into by the second person and it squeaks enough to wake others that are sleeping in the room.

We liked that we could walk to the town center, about 3/4 mile one way. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was good for exploring the beauty of San Juan Island.

Pros: Had a nice room, very clean, in a quiet part of the resort area. All the rooms, where we stayed, had a view of the water, the boats etc. Had a good meal in the restaurant with very good service.

Pros: Every room has a water view! And the view was fantastic! The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The Museum was very interesting that explained the historical facts of the hotel.

Cons: We still had to make appointments to use the pool or hot tub. We were just staying one night. All spots were taken up for the next day already so we did not get a chance to use them. Maybe they could have notified us in advance so we could have made an appointment before we came?

Pros: Brunch at the mansion restaurant was very good. Bed, bedding, and towels in room were very nice.

Cons: The rooms are sorely in need of renovation. Furniture is of 1960s vintage and in only fair condition. For such a storied location and a beautiful setting, I expected higher quality room decor.

Pros: We love Rosario Resort, especially the Moran Mansion! We love the history of the building and strongly recommend the Saturday afternoon music and history "lesson" in the Music Room upstairs! The room rates are especially good in the winter time (compared to high season in the summer). The staff have always been extremely friendly and helpful for any needs. It was great to be there in the off-season and experience the Mansion decorated for Christmas.

Pros: Unbelievable views!

Pros: I recall the food from prior visits as being good, but the new Exec Chef, Raymond Southern, has taken it to a whole new level. The food was excellent, and the staff friendly and helpful. The view from my room was incredible, and the off season rates made it very affordable. The comments about the front desk not being friendly are puzzling to me - they (and all the other staff) were very warm, all the more impressive as they had given up Christmas Eve and Day to show a nice time to guests.

Cons: The soundproofing in my room left a little to be desired - I could clearly hear the conversations of my next door neighbors. But if you're hanging out in your room on Orcas Island, you're doing it wrong.

Pros: Being able to stay on a boat gives you a unique experience compared to a hotel or typical B&B. It offered everything we needed. Loved the location and being able to walk to so many restaurants etc in Friday Harbor.

Cons: Nothing really...the only complaint is probably that the bed is a bit softer than I prefer, but I have a bad back so it can get a bit cranky on me sometimes.

Pros: Location, location and did I mention location? This place is premo for being right in the heart of Friday Harbor the town and marina. It also a unique experience to stay in a boat. Host was very attentive and looked to answer and questions/needs. Rate was very fair relative to other options.

Cons: We were very aware that staying on a boat is A very different experience than staying in a hotel - Parking is not right outside your door, quarters are smaller, etc. These are small and trivial sacrifices to get to stay on a boat. What disappointed us was the state that the boat was in. Of course a 50+ year old boat is going to show wear, this boat also showed lack of maintenance and some of the maintenance done looked shoddy.

Pros: We got upgraded to the forward berth, but in the end, would have preferred the Captain's quarters in the stern because of the light and windows. Other commenters have slammed the stern stateroom for being cramped and having a low ceiling; but you are on a ship for goodness sakes! Tight quarters and low ceilings come with wooden sailing vessels - UGH! We would have had plenty of room in the stern for two. The forward berth comes with the salon (living room), which is quite spacious, and has decent headroom, if that's what you are looking for. Bathrooms are tiny, but that comes with boats. If you need a larger bathroom, there are great showers in the Marina facility (which is standard). We are sailors, and we didn't use the bathrooms on board, knowing that Fabulous vessel! Sure, she's an aged lady, but the hosts' pride of ownership shows throughout. Well worth the $$ for the experience and the history. It isn't modern, it doesn't have central air and heat, there isn't a lot of light on deck (doesn't need it with Friday Harbor's ambient light gently illuminating the deck); but.......it's a true live-aboard experience with tons of style, character, and history. Hosts have provided an outstanding library, lots of games, musical instruments, and eclectic furnishings in the salon to keep you busy. It's a true, 100% sailing vessel experience, without leaving port. Great experience. Great hosts. Great marina.

Pros: Friday Harbor is quite nice . Drove around the island which was fun . Winery , War of Pigs sites , lighthouses . Etc .

Cons: The ship was moored in the harbor . The rear stateroom is to small , to old and just cramped . We were there . Low ceilings , no way to walk around . The forward stateroom has an easier to navigate bedroom , shower , updated toilet . Higher ceilings . And a galley right off the bedroom or way more room , slight updates and just more comfortable . Was 2 spacious rooms vs 1 in stern . So do not stay in the stern . Avoid it . Not worth the money . We were in the stern . Owner was sick came and fixed a good breakfast anyway . She being sick should not have come on board .

Pros: We loved being in the harbor and the breakfast included in the room price. The king size bed was comfortable. Hanging out topside having a drink was nice too.

Cons: We were under the impression that we were staying in the larger room with the salon. The aft stateroom doesn’t have enough headroom to stand up. From what we understand, it’s a Booking.com issue. Having a lighting source to be able to use the deck after dark would’ve been nice!

Pros: The room was very nice, though I'm sorry we didn't opt for our usual desire to stay on the top floor. It was fine until our last two nights, when it seemed like the people upstairs we're having big a party until about 1 am. Because there are just hardwood floors and no real soundproofing, the noise was pretty bad. Other than that, the water pressure in the shower and the nozzle were really great, akin to 4 stars. The heater in the bathroom was also a great touch, it actually warmed the whole bedroom just fine, which was nice because the bedroom neater was way too loud. Carly was really terrific, provided exceptional customer service, and got back to any text (which is the mode of communication there, we sent. Earthbox was really right in town, yet in its own little oasis.

Cons: Floor was really cold due to no rugs, though understandable during Covid. Lack of down pillows was also an issue for us, luckily we could borrow a couple from the friends we had on the Island. The bathroom needs a fan as the window is solid in place.

Pros: The rooms were tastefully decorated and well laid out. Everything was incredibly clean and neat. The property was nicely cared for, and the Christmas lighting is beautiful!

Cons: Absolutely horrible!Room converted from a patio.Exterior siding on paper thin walls,barely a ceiling,cables running free.Room not cleaned AT ALL 1 day,dirty towels folded back on rack next day, dirty sink, hair in bathtub (NOT mine).Awful bed,no parking!

Pros: Has free parking. The rooms are nice and cozy. They have lavender soap and shampoo conditioners from local lavender farms.

Cons: the air conditioning is too loud, and goes on and off repeatedly. Difficult to sleep at night because of this.

Pros: Loved having the pool and bikes! Location was up the hill from the harbor but just a short walk. Staff was great - holding our bags after checkout while went on whale watch. Also, they let kids use pool while we waited for ferry after checkout!

Pros: The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful providing great tips for us during our trip. The hotel provided bikes to ride around the island and had a coffee cart open each morning. The pool was also an added bonus.

Pros: Loved the location, the rooms, the spa, the service. Everything was great, I'd totally recommend it to anyone!

Cons: TV was a little small, but that was pretty much it.

Pros: The staff was great and very helpful. Really enjoyed our stay.

Cons: The beds were too firm for our tastes. Had some issues with the spa but they were resolved.

Cons: Our room didn’t have a functional window. The only window was blocked with the air conditioning system. The room was quite small for my wife and I.

Pros: I loved this hotel! It was clean, comfortable and felt very cozy and quaint. The location is right in the middle of the downtown area so we could walk to just about everything. It was clean and the lobby area was well stocked with towels and other room essentials for us to grab if we needed more.

Pros: Well located, room is large enough and comfortable.

Cons: Aged facilities, the faucets in the shower/ bathtub did not work properly, we notified management and nobody showed up to fix the issue during our stay

Pros: Bicycles available for rent. Two-person jetted tub in our room.

Cons: Bed was uncomfortable, scratchy linens. Room was crowded with oversized furniture. Lighting and decor were dated.

Pros: Location is great. It is clean and breakfast is provided.

Cons: Definitely not a 3 star. 2 Star at most. Small rooms, very thin walls, small bathroom. Noisy interior hallways.

Pros: Very stylish furnishings & comfortable bed. Also, a nice continental breakfast provided & helpful staff. Location was good for walking to restaurants & close to Friday Harbor.

Cons: The shower was in a large jetted tub, which required stepping up on tiled stairs & then a big step down to the floor of shower! A bit difficult for someone with short legs & crickety knees, even with a grab bar. Also, no off-street parking.

Pros: Centrally located near food.

Cons: The room, Cypress 14, came with earplugs for when the grocery store behind hotel gets loads from suppliers at 6:30 am. The room faces the west and gets warm, since there is no A/C and it on the 3rd, top, floor. Can see view of the bay...from bathroom.

Pros: The staff are INCREDIBLE! The location can’t be beat! We stayed in the bay view suites - the room was spacious, well appointed and perfect!

Pros: The setting was gorgeous and the historic hotel was extremely charming. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Will will definitely go again.

Cons: No one sold stamps

Cons: Way too expensive for having to share a bathroom with other guests staying on the floor.
