Lots of mould in the shower and constant water running from the upstairs apartment. A full ashtray was left on the balcony.

Pros: the caravan park and chalets looked nice but the motel room we stayed in was way smaller than it looked on website and the bed was on wheels and everytie you moved it moved. it was cold the nights we stayed and no extra blanket in room. and in the shower there is nowhere to put even a small bar of soaplet alone your shampoo. we only had a duffle bag and could not fit it in cupboard to place on rack so had to leave it out and there was no room to put it. i would suggest that these rooms should be a hotel room only with out the table chairs ect. PS thr fridge froze everything on the second day.

Pros: The sheets were very clean and the towels were quite nice and soft. The location to the beach was great if it had been summer, but as we were there in cool weather, we were not able to use this facility.

Cons: The cottages/chalets were not particularly clean. Under one of the beds in the one bedroom cottage was a large area of torn lino. As it was a one bedroom cottage, I think they had added bunk beds to cover up the lino. The windows were kept shut by a piece of dowel placed in the window slot, and the windows had not been cleaned for a very long time. We actually stayed in 2 chalets over the four nights we were there and neither was up to the standard of the price we paid. In the two bedroom cottage that we paid extra for to stay on the first night, the kitchen cupboard doors were not closing correctly. They were both very tired and they lacked maintenance. The bathroom shower recess in the second cottage was tiny and although reasonably clean, it was not up to a good standard that I would expect. We have stayed in this park previously, and at that time, it was much nicer than it is now. when we enquired on the second morning if our booked cottage was ready, the receptionist informed us that it was still being cleaned, but as we were going out she would ring me on my Mobile Telephone to advise us when it would be ready for us to occupy. This did not happen. We had to return to the park to find out that our booked cottage was then ready. I don't think that is very good public relations. During our stay I swept the floors of the second cottage and in my humble opinion, nobody had bothered to sweep behind the doors for some time. There was quite a large amount of sand and dirt behind the kitchen and the bathroom doors. In all it lacked in cleanliness and maintenance. We would never go back there again for a holiday.

Cons: Room very close to the 24 hour laundry....🙄...I'm a light sleeper so heard the low rumble of machines and people chatting, whilst waiting for their stuff. Advertised as breakfast included but nothing said about it just being continental (not keen on cereal, settled for raison toast which the automatic toaster proceeded to burn). No mention of having to pay for a full english, bit disappointing really. 😒

Hospitality Geraldton is a great location to be based out of to explore Geraldton and surrounds! Rooms were very clean and comfortable, the onsite restaurant The Emerald Room had superb food and wonderful service! Highly recommended, we would choose to stay here again next time!

Room was decent in size, had a small table with 2 chairs, small bar fridge. no microwave. Bed was comfortable with soft pillows. Linen and towels were clean. We ordered room service for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. Delicious. Hotel was located just out of town 20min walk to Geraldton information centre. Continental breakfast was included and could buy a cooked breakfast. Had everything that we needed for our one night stay.

We enjoyed our stay en route to the North the West. Excellent evening meal in the restaurant.

The room was clean and modern and we were very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed our meal - however although the prawn bisque was delicious we thought it was very overpriced at $37 each. A larger portion and a serving of garlic bread would have been appreciated. If we hadn't ordered an entree we would have gone home hungry.

The manager was very rude, she parked her car on my slot. Few times asked to move the car and finally she moved it but wiyh argument.

I already called to reception about I will delete to check in, and they said they will send me sms how to check in, and we receive nothing and I called so many times after that, and no-one receive phone call, finally, we have to call after hr phone no., when we arrive there, and we wait long time to have security to come to help us to check in, it’s no good for that

Motel room very clean location on route made it easy for accessibling. Room was better that some we have stayed at.. Clean Room could have improved on the pillows - we always bring own anyways. Staff in the restaurant VERY FRIENDLY, VERY ATTENTIVE, VERY ACCOMMODATING. Food was lovely had excellent chose of breakfast. Because staff great will be visiting soon. Ensure you bring your alcohol with you as can be expensive. The staff can make or break a over nite stay but this place has EXCEPTIONAL STAFF... Big Congratulations to them all.

Hotel location is a bit far from attraction areas.

Pros: Location was close to the water and dining facililties. The accommodation was very clean, bed was comfy and plenty of storage space.

Cons: The tiles in the shower were a little slippery. The shower head was quite old and could do with an update. There was a fridge in the shared kitchen with a shelf for each room, however the light in the fridge was not working and as I could not find the light for the room (it was behind a cupboard), I put food in the fridge but was not aware of the shelf allocation. This is not really a big deal, just a bit of feedback. Also, you are expected to do your own dishes (there is no dishwasher) but there are no gloves for those who prefer them for reasons of allergies or sensitivities.

Pros: Weelaway Homestead is an historical, stone-built house from the convict era of Geraldton's past, and is beautiful with original wide board Jarrah flooring, large rooms and a well-equipped kitchen for guests to use. Furniture is mostly vintage or antique to be perfectly suited to the building. Thanks to picking the wrong taxi 'service' on our arrival at Geraldton airport (13CABS 132 227 - do not use this company!), we were almost 2 hours later than our expected check-in and the lock box with the key made our arrival at Weelaway easy, although a key to unlock the front door which is adjacent to the Regency Room would have saved us lugging our suitcases around this large property to find the main entrance at the rear where there is parking for guests' vehicles. We would certainly stay at Weelaway again, but preferably in a renovated room - its location is excellent and the atmosphere is very pleasant, as were the few guests we encountered.

Cons: The room we stayed in (the Regency Room), the separate bathroom and toilet which are assigned to that room are in serious need of upgrade and maintenance. In the short term, they need the services of a handyman to fix minor (but irritating) problems such as missing curtain rod ends which caused the curtains to come crashing down when I attempted to close them. The rooms have very high ceilings, the curtain brackets were out of reach without a ladder and the curtains remained where they were for our 2 night stay. Another irritation was the assortment of light globes used. We put lights on so we can see when daylight is not available, i.e. at night, so we don't need hard white or daylight globes shedding blue light at a time when we are preparing for bed (or getting up in the night) as blue light is well known to be a cause of disrupting the circadian rhythm. Some lights had compact fluorescent globes and some had LED lamps - both of which are available in warm white options. Some light globes in the bathroom and toilet/wash basin areas were missing or not working. It does appear that renovations are planned, as all the rooms, except the Regency Room where we were staying, have had ensuites installed, but we weren't able to check these for comparison as they were all occupied.

We knew from the photos that Weelaway would be a gem, but it turned out to be even better than we'd imagined. If you love antiques and books, this is the place for you! Comfy beds; great location; quiet and peaceful environment. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful heritage house - can't wait to be back!

The staff where really helpful in finding us local takeaways which would deliver to the room for us. Family room is great with 2 adjoining bedrooms. Continental breakfast was good, but lacked a butter and milk alternative for the vegans of the world. Overall, good value for money and would stay again for sure. Very pleasant staff member on the phone. I jumped onto the Wintersun website and brought the menu up. I knew what I wanted to eat before we got there. But on arrival and looking at the menu, the item I saw on the website was not on the menu. I therefore had to pick something else and was extremely disappointed by my choice. I did not enjoy what I had ordered, because I had my heart set on something else. We will return, as the other 3 people enjoyed their meals.

I was in Geraldton overnight and this property was easy to find. The apartment was quiet and clean. Although a little dated it was more than suitable for an overnight stay. Everything is within a 5-minute drive. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

The hotel kindly provided a head torch in the event electricity to the city was shut down (it was). We were upgraded to their two bedroom suite which for only a small amount of money more is certainly worth the upgrade.

Last minute accommodation. Was cheap for just a 12hr stay. Had everything u needed. Very outdated, remote didn't work for TV, toilet holder held together by tape. Bed was comfortable enough, pillows very thin remember to bring ur own. We were in a room next to the main road it was very noisy with lots of traffic especially trucks starting from 3am along with the birds so don't expect a sleep in. You can also hear the toilets and showers from the rooms next door. I guess for $100 can't expect more.

Very old facilities, in a time warp to the 70’s. Sticky green carpet, minimal kitchen facilities, curtains and towels missing and very uncomfortable beds for a “deluxe unit” were features far below expectations. The security screens on every window will be enough to show the type of clientele that would frequent this establishment. I did not sleep well at all.

Photos online are deceiving. Family cottage was filthy, smelt with insufficient cutlery and toiletries. Bedding was uncomfortable and questionably not properly clean. Pool was not clean enough for swimming. Cloudy, leave debris and mould around the edges (not like the photo).

I chose Abrolhos Reef Lodge because it has a kitchen and a stovetop which served it's purpose. There is a smell coming from the bathroom so we kept the bathroom door closed when we slept.

Don’t waste your money at this terrible hotel! Booked online through Agoda but when we checked in Manager demanded we pay more than the booked (and already paid for) rate. Claimed it was Agoda booking problem, even though we had photo proof of original booking screen and the voucher. Being Xmas eve and the whole town booked out we had no choice but to pay or drive another 5 hours after the 12 we had done already. We paid the extra and have lodged a complaint with Agoda. Unfortunately, the next travellers to check in were also scammed by the manager with the same “booking problem” and also had to pay extra. The facilities are absolutely disgusting. Mould, faulty repairs and broken taps, dirty marks on most walls and high touch areas, the kids beds were sunken in the middle, patched up walls, dust and grime on all surfaces. The towels were old, worn out and stained along with unwashed bed covers with obvious signs of food and whatever on them. The upstairs (2nd level) bedroom window was totally unsafe for children with a broken fly screen and no obvious way of locking the window securely to make it safe. Carpets and the only sofa were stained, dirty and smelly. Read the reviews, cancel your booking and get a refund before you check in at the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in. There are much better options out there.
