1/ Perfect localisation - one of the main streets in Montecatini, but not noisy, short distance to main cities of Toscany, 2/ very helpfull staff, 3/ quite good breakfest, although only cold dishes, 4/ nice room and very comfortable bed. The hotel as well as the whole town is focused on eldery people (typical termal city), so there are only few pubs, restaurants and no clubs. Additionaly, driving by car in Montecatini is quite difficult due to the fact that majority of streets are one-way.
Very good location. Excellent staff. Has private parking which is very convenient. Extremely clean hotel. Comfortable room. Abundant breakfast.
The Grand Hotel Tettucio is a very good hotel. The location is ideal, on Montecatini's main promanade opposite the Terme Excelsior (where you can get health treatments, such as massages) and moments from relaxing park land. Rooms were a little small and primitive, given the four star rating, but the shared areas were pleasant. The breakfast area was particularly impressive, a ground-floor balcony surrounded by flowering trees, and the choice of food was excellent, (including many homemade pasties and tarts). Don't expect a particularly chatty reception from the concierge (their English is only adequate), but given the hotel is only 1 minute from the Tourist Information Centre, this is hardly relevant.
Terrible experience. My single room was a dark dingy hole in the wall and nothing in it worked. Atfirst I was told they overbooked agreeing thAt the room was infer, and then they put off changing my room. I checked out after one night but had to pay a penalty for another night.
great food no internet
beautiful spa city, many parks, relaxing, central location easy private parking, large superior room,no noises from the road needs a serious renovation especially the bathrooms and closets
rather noisy early in the morning as other guests and staff passed by our room and not keeping their voices down/ sound was not sufficiently absorbed by carpets or walls.
1) location in a lovely SPA town, between Pisa, Lucca and Florence 2)reasonable set menu for dinner (only one choice) nothing to do with the hotel - but the access through the narrow streets of Montecatini can at times be difficult.
Very clean, linen and towels changed daily, location good, free parking Hotel good but one way system in Montecatini makes it hard initially to get to hotel
Luxiry spacious room and bathroom, friendly professional staff.
Location Faded and a bit tired, needs some renovation
Excellent service, facilities, well located in its environment, helpful staff, very clean, pleasant stay, calm, relaxing atmosphere.
Although looking tired from the outside, the hotel was more than acceptable internally. A very pleasant stay and ideally situated.
Very good location thin walls, you can hear the neighbours
The service is exceptional, the staff wonderfully pleasant.
The food;the position
staff courtesy and room comfort noisy
some of the rooms didn't have shawer, they have bath without curtain
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The food was good. The rooms, although clean, were very scruffy and certainly not worthy of a 4 star grade.
The staff were great and the Hotel was 100%. The location is lovely.
Roof top pool had amazing views.Meal in restaurant not bad for 15 euros (special offer) Hotel showed signs of faded glory-parking could be a prob.-we were lucky to get space outside hotel.(3 euros till 8am).Don't drink the water in fridge as you get ripped off-we thought it was complimentary as previous hotel. Not a minibar-just 2 cheap bottles.Cosmos used hotel-not a prob. but could be.
Very friendly and professional service. Very good room service/cleaners.
I liked its location; Montecatini is interesting and easy to access from Florence airport. Liked the smaller town feel. Liked the access to spas and old town. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful. Breakfast had good choices. At first it was difficult to find the hotel in the town. Better directions for travelers using cars on website would help. The staff does respond readily to emails with questions, however they could be more specific.
The peacefulness despite being near the centre of Montecatini Term
The location was very good. The swimming pool was unpleasant surprised because we expected better based on the photos of your website. The breakfast was very poor.
friendly welcoming staff
The building and the room is very nice, the hall, the bar is beautiful and everything is quiet, perfect to relax. Maybe the minibar could have more drinks and snacks, besides nothing to mention.
Staff very helpful. Breakfast good and room clean.
Nice surroundings. Room was very small. Poor breakfast and unfriendly waitress.
friendly and helpfull staff, good breakfast small room size for triple room
perfect hotel for reasonable price. very good breakfast menu. it has been changed every day.
free parking near hotel, close to city center, pub, restaurant, shops, great breakfast, "sjajne krafnice"!
Great hospitality at this hotel. Marco and his staff made me feel very welcome and nothing seemed too much trouble, he even made room bookings for my next destiniation. My room was large, modern and clean. Definate value for money. Free Wifi in room was also a plus.
Beautiful, clean room, parking very close, very welcoming atmosphere, good breakfast, easy to reach Toscany's sights ... just great!
Clean and tidy - both room and the hotel itself, excellent and very helpfull staff, free parking which is behind closed gate opened only by a key given by the hotel staff, great breakfast, good location in Tuscany - easy to get from and to the autostrade and is in the middle between Firenze and Pisa, the price is very low comparing to hotels in Tuscany. Room is very clean and tidy but isn't organized correctly - the bed was too close to the desk and it very hard to move the luggage into the room. In spite of that - this is an excellent hotel.
The staff went out of their way to provide friendly, good service. A family owned and run hotel that I would be delighted to revisit.
The staff was verying welcoming and couldn't do enough for us to make the most of our visit to Tuscany. The hotel is spotless and very modern with flat screen televisions in the rooms. You had a great choice for breakfast and it changed daily. Marco provided great restaurant and touring recommendations that were top notch. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Hospitable, helpful people at the reception. Good location. Not bad (as for Italy) breakfest. Very small room, with elementary equipment. Looks poor - just a place to sleep, not to stay long.
Very good value for money. Lovely lounge area in foyer. Close to park and good scenery. Wi-fi did not work very well most of the time. Road a bit noisy.
Great location close to city center but relatively quiet. helpfull staff rooms might be bit bigger
We stayed only one night, due to a terrible thing that happened that night to one of our closest relatives( in Romania). So, we had to leave in the next morning the hotel and Italy, even we intend to spend one week here. In such conditions we noticed the warm, sympathetic and nice behaviour of the hotel staff and the owner. We will remember this, we thank them and we hope that once we will come back.
Helpful staff. Off street parking is controlled by the Hotel. You pay a daily fee but it is better than on street parking which you generally pay more for if you can find a spot.
Excellent central location for exploring sights such as Lucca, Florence Piza etc. Hotel excellent value, with comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast and helpful staff. An ideal base to travel to and from. Deserves more than the 3 stars.
the hotel's owner was very nice. He loaned us bicycles, gave advice on local sights. The hotel has free wi-fi, and a computer to use for a nominal fee.
It is well situated in the town adn had good standards of cleanliness The breakfast was very basic and we didn't have any hot water in our room in the evening. Also there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room and also no iron - even when I asked at reception if there was an iron that could be used
they put a group of 27 tourists in the same floor as my room and you can imagine what happened when they wake up and when they go to sleep. too much noise and talking loudly. the groups should be in different floors than individuals.
Wireless internet was not working.
The room was extremely clean and large. There was almost no choice for the breakfast.
great location, good design, room warm! -- temp could be adjusted, helpful staff, good beds, overall very pleasant
Location to Bus and Train station, also Shops and Town Centre is very good. Bedroom, bathroom and large balcony, fridge & safe provided everthing needed. Good breakfast with lots of choice. Reception staff varied from excellent to poor.
The large balcony, and the view from the swiming pool
Large and quiet room, good breakfast.
It was in a good location and the pool was a real bonus. The air-conditioning system at this ageing hotel is dated and does not work properly. Our room was never cool and I should also add that for several hours during the day (and for three hours at night) they simply turn it off. Given that the temperature was in the 30s (celcius) when we were there this was simply unacceptable.
This family run hotel welcomes its visitors by giving a very good service Excellent restaurant, although we would suggest some fresh fruit would impove the breakfasts . Very clean, comfortable rooms. The owners and their staff are always available to help with local information. Easy walk to the train station with plently of trains to Pisa , Lucca, Florence, Seina ect. Would recommend this hotel to ensure a comfortable stay in Montecatini.
The hotel staff was very helpful and could speak good english. The hotel was clean, comfortable and in a good location close to town.
its location it did not have enough tour brouchers and the front door was locked very early.
Hotel staff was very nice (mostly the girls). I don't think that they can do anything about it but they have the smallest bathrooms I have ever seen in my live.
Poor TV reception and choice of channels (no satellite/cable TV).
Beautiful, tranquil location. Very easy access via train service to Lucca, Siena, Florence, Viareggio, San Gimignano.
The hotel is very well situated, staff were friendly, helpful. Breakfast set up ideal for a busy day. Local restaurants and bars excellent. we would highly recommend the Da Vinci.
Helpful friendly staff, centrally located.Price Lack of bathroom soaps, shampoos you'd expect in 4 star hotel. lack of seating in room
Excellent facilities (including the pool), very helpful staff (even we made a mistake in the booking the staff made sure that we got two doubles instead of the singles we booked). The breakfast buffet was excellent as well. The location, the hotel is close to the center of town and close to the different spas around Montecatini. We can highly recommend this hotel.
Good size room, most staff able to understand and assist with queries. One particular female member of staff was not particularly friendly on Reception, seemed our questions were a chore.Asked about swimming pool and again she seemed off hand at having to take us to see it in building opposite. On asking about using stairs, she said had to be the lift as stairs were blocked. My friend has a phobia abouit lifts,so managed to go up with her,but on coming down found stairway was accessible and got back to ground level safely. Never greeted or said goodbye like other reception staff..barely looked up!!On arriving were told we were in Hotel Boston. On explaining I had seen a review where another had been put in the other hotel, rather than their booking at Da Vinci, she was very defensive saying thats where our room was,and no room in Da Vinci. Shame as all others were very friendly. Felt breakfast was very basic and would have liked to see some fresh fruit in such a country. Also my friend being vegetarian..limited choice.Bread very hard each day.
the location and the breakfast the food and the owner was very helpful and friendly
Nice hotel, good location, breakfast was adequate, room nice with the added luxury of a balcony although without much of a view, staff were helpful at all times.
Wonderful hotel and delightful room. Staff very courteous and helpful.Great location for city.
Facilities/services, location, hotel staff
The staff consistently went out of their way to be helpful. There was nothing I did not like about the hotel.
the staff was wonderful to us. They were extremely attentive and helped us out when we needed it. they were great, and made us feel welcome. i think that a person could stay on line at no charge for longer than 10 minutes.

I stayed at the Hotel Columbia for a week in June and it was very very nice. First of all, their restaurant on the top floor is excellent. Wonderful food, top class service, and setting and a great view of the mountains from the very large windows completely covering one side (and more) of the room. Secondly, the employees at the reception desk were kind and helpful while being professional and efficient. The rooms were also cleaned very nicely. And the hotel is in a central and convenient location. It is also very close to the Congress center where I had business. They also freely gave me wireless internet passes. And I didn't have time to use myself but they also seemed to have excellent facilities for spa, massage, and beauty treatments. I was very satisfied so this is not really a negative point, but the room I happened to have was not so large, but considering the great price I got, I think I received a great bargain. There seem to be many room types for different needs.
Amazing Room. The best we had in Europe! The Hotel is beautiful. Staff us friendly. Food was excellent with a great view You had to pay extra and book for the spa. I thought it might be part of the Hotel.
Very nice vibe in the hotel, really polite and friendly staff. Breakfast was good and nice and peaceful. Great location. Very clean and modern hotel, had everything you needed. Our room on the fourth floor was under the main dining area, when staff came into work at 6am to prepare for 7am breakfast, you good hear them, the rooms are not very sound proof, I was awoken a fews times because of the noise penetrating through the ceiling. Also, not all reception staff offered the same information. For example, one day we asked the receptionist if they had a pool, she said no. The next day we asked another receptionist where the nearest pool was and he sent us to a sister hotel, therefore, if we wouldnt have asked him, we would have never known you could use other hotels. Lastly, I felt the room didnt have enough details about the facilities available, ie. The welcome pack in the room was not updated, it should clearly state correct breakfast times etc..usage of sister hotel facilities etc.. I was not too impressed with the Spa, the treatments were nice and the staff lovely, I just felt the spa was very small and the decor was too dark. I felt the actualy spa rooms to be too dark and suffocating, I didnt relax in them. I feel the rooms to be redecorated to create a more relaxing, less suffocating feel.
the hotel is situated in the heart of the town and the car parking next to the hotel only held six cars so it was a first come first served basis. we were always back late so we never parked there.the very long street opposite has ample parking as long as you move the car before 8 am and you have to pay 1euro per hour up until 8pm remember to only park in the blue areas as the white lined parking is for residents only the hotel itself was a big surprise to us. it is very modern and the rooms have recently been done up. a shower cubicle replaces the old bath and the sink and bathroom suite are very contemporary. we had a single and a double room which both had ample room and comfort there is also an l.c.d television with about five english speeking channels we did not use the spa facility but were surprised at the low price of the services the only downside was the breakfast which didnt had loads to choose from but being scottish i am used to the cooked breakfast and the top floor restuarant overlooking the town makes up for it
Position and size the room and bathroom. Furnitur and TV.
Everyhthing worked very well. The rooms were very comfortable, the staff attentive and helpful, and it was excellent value for money One small criticism. On our last evening we had booked a table for six for dinner at 8-30. We were made to hurry our meal because the restaurant was quiet and the chef wished to go home.
Friendliness of staff. It was the best value hotel that had a pool that you had on your website.. Good restaurant and excellent evening meals. breakfast was adequate, and served beside the pool. parking on site was free. Bathrooms were a bit dated, but clean.
Breakfast is poor, room are smell, minibar empty, TV - old 15 years. It is 2 star hotel, not 4 star. Avoid.
Location superb. Decor very elaborate ! Reception staff excellent - friendly and helpful. It was clean and our room was lovely Breakfast could be better. Mini Bar was empty,
Competent and helpfull staff, good location close to the park and town center but relatively quiet, always most of sunbeds by the swimming pool vacant rooms reqiuire refurbishing, continental breakfasts
Extra large rooms for Italy!! Had two of everything They turned off the ac between 5 and 11 pm!!! Got back from dinner at 10pm and died in the heat. As usual--no ice--got some in a plastic bag.No tissues.
Proximity to Finucolare Proximity to park Good pool area, although pool is small Good air conditioning Food was mediocre - not much choice Bathroom basin cracked; bathroom in need of upgrading Bar was poor - and closes at 11 pm sharp No light snacks available at lunchtime Seems to be geared towards transient tour clients - one or two nights stay Uphill from town centre - difficult in hot weather
Central - close to centre of town in delightful park area . nice walk into town also close to markets and fanacolor No complaintas except left without bathtowel on one night
Yes, I really liked it to stay in the hotel for 11 nights. Some noisy for the first days, but after ac was switched on all was ok.
Nice location, good helpful staff. I made reservation for a room for 3 persons and the room was for 2 + added bad. The room was too small, would be uncomfortable if I stay longer. Very high prices in lobby bar and for mini bar. Breakfast - small choose. In season time - July - they still were making renovation in hotel, swimming pool out of order.
Well situated, nice large extra comfort room. Spotlessly clean towels daily, sheets every other day Breakfast average, no fresh fruit. Minibar didn't work, Parts of the hotel were shabby.
We were not there long enough to take advantage of any of the facilities, but the room and bathroom were both good for the price. The breakfast was very good. The receptionists were friendly and welcoming. Nothing bad. Just a feeling that the decor in the corridors, bedrooms and bathrooms were ready for re-doing.
Superb location with outstandingly unbelievable view Friendly staff, Elegant ambiance Excellent breakfast Fabulous private deck with view of Monterossa & the sea Bedrooms a bit dated
Well situated for the amenities of the town , but still a peaceful location. The decor and lighting was a bit dull and the bathroom needs an overhaul.Overall it was pleasant , but 4 star a bit exaggerated by most standards.
Very friendly staff, good service, very good brekfast and our room had a nice balcony with terrific view of a big park and recreation area. Rebuiding activities during our stay
Beautiful hotel in the best part of town. Frigo bar didn't work in any of the three rooms and the staff wasn't able to resolve the problem. Hot water took 5 minutes to arrive in one room and in another the shower head broke, but was immediately tended to by staff. No a/c was available and the rooms had a "closed up" smell that never went away. Bathrooms smelled damp and musty. Noise from other guests was considerable.
The swimming-pool was cloused
This Hotel was perfect and staff went out of their way to provide helpful information about how to visit the local sites, the pool area is new with a lovely spa, towels are provided and the area is lovely for relaxation, breakfast was good,i have nothing negative to sayabout this hotel. My teenage children also enjoyed it very much Liked everthing-nothing negative to say
Very welcoming personnel, incredible meal and breakfast, nice balcony in the room the madrass was a bit too soft
well located for day trips to tuscany and liguria sites
Front desk staff were very helpful and responsive. Parking is proximal and good. Definitely a three star maximum, more likely two star. We had an expensive room and it was mediocre at best. Supplies were inferior, staff left room door open. Breakfast is minimal. Hotel is overpriced. There are minimal spa facilities and they are expensive.
comfort and hospitatlity nothing
The guy on reception was very helpful. Doesn't look too good on the outside but modern reception.
Shopping, training (running up) too th Mote Catino alto. Swiming in the pool every morning and nightTravling around too anothers cityes, Pica, Firenze and Sienna. PS! the breakefast was werry good and Italien style :-) Aircondition at the room was not good. It closed at 0730 am - started 1400, and the temperature could not come down to 17-18 celsius degreads. It was to hot at this room and the receptions we think.
Great breakfast buffet included, nice pool and outside areas, helpfull staff, free parking, nice restaurant Signing bills when buying stuff in the hotel (to know what is included and what is charged), larger TV and international channels, 'opening hours' for breakfast and dinner could be extended
The quality of staff, service, and food.
Good room, friendly staff and wholesome food. external appearance a bit dated
Our room was excellent and the manager, Massimo, was courteous, polite, pleasant, friendly and very helpful with any advice or information we requested.
The location of the hotel was excellent, as were the facilities. The staff were extremely obliging and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them, including the taxi from the airport. They made our holiday an excellent experience for us.
location, lobby & public areas, porch, lounge, dining room. They seem to cater to large bus tour groups who come into he hotel and leave 40-50 people at a time. This yielded no hot water in the mornings or before dinner. The walls are thin. When 40 people are leaving first thing in the morning to catch there bus it is noisy.
The friendly staff and the pleasant atmosphere. It is an old hotel, but is in a pleasant and convenient position for this lovely old spa town.
Location, Rooms very very dated, pool was green, hardest bed ever, towels were like dish towels, no hot water the first day (they did fix this). Breakfast was very packaged.
The food was exceptional. Staff friendly and courteous. Swimming pool in a wonderful location within the garden.Quiet part of Montecatini, yet only a ten minute walk into the town centre. Will certainly return. Bathroom adequate, but could benefit from an upgrade.
This was our return visit to the Astoria, and was even better than last year. They have integrated a wonderful outdoor jucuzzi in to the swimmng pool area. We were impressed by the warm welcome back, but most importantly that they had taken note about my only negative comment about the bathroom, and gave us a fully modernised en suite. Give the staff respect and they will treat you accordingly.
Beautiful hotel, staff friendly and helpful. Excellent pool, perfect location, and excellent value. Rooms are small, and no english speaking TV channels.
The location was excellent set in the park area but a 5 min walk into town. For the price the rooms were good we had a budget room with balcony which was better than expected. The breakfast was very good (served in or outside) as was the pool and public rooms. Nearby a funicular takes you to a delightful village where we had dinner on both nights. We loved Montecatini and would return, very relaxing after trekking round Tuscany. Some guest left towels on pool loungers (mainly our American friends), this frustrated a few guests as some of the best spots were monopolised with towels!!!
the hoötel is in a great location for the main park, the fininculare to Alta, the spa, the golf course....i mean next door or across the street....just wonderful gentleman concierges...good dinning...also the hotel is part of other hotels in the city so you can take advantage of other hotels' ammemities,ie the dinng in one or the pool in another ...you should like this hotel for a relaxing ,quiet break from big cities... no complaints
very good bathroom and bedroom had a balcony with a chair. This is an observation only. The evening menu appears to be designed with North European tours groups in mind. It did not reflect Italian cuisine (my opinion).
Staff, food, atmosphere were all magical!
All hotel stuff was very kind for me. Dinner was very nice, delicious and not so expensive.
Location good Hotel shabby, pool area scruffy (grass not cut, loungers old). Very few guests, no entertainment, bar dead! Breakfast basic - required to pay extra for hot food (not good when the cost of b&b was high anyway)
Superb service. Excellent food. Lovely "belle epoque" decor throughout. Great location for travelling by train around Tuscany. No
The staff were fantastic No
It was central to many beautiful places of interest. Not far from the railway station and lovely centre of Montecatini and all it has to offer. The reception staff were extremely helpful and obliging as was the lady in charge of cleaning our rooms. Comfortable beds and good sized bathroom. Would of prefered a room with a view. Breakfast staff not very friendly or efficeint. When eating breakfast out side was besieged by birds on all tables. Not very hygenic to find bird droppings in your cereal bowl !
My stay at this hotel was most enjoyable. I would recommend it and would return to it.
Staff friendliness. Flowers & card in room were appreciated. Fact that pets are allowed. No.
Central Location, helpful staff, reasonable facilities, traditional Italian hotel Table de Hote dinner menue should have priced courses. The exterior painting was not up to a standatrd for a Luxury hotel. More care required to keep birds (and their droppings) wawy from the brakfast bar
I liked the relaxing atmosphere and the very pleasant and helpful staff. The hotel was in an ideal location and the room facilities were excellent. Overall a great stay towards a very enjoyable holiday. I did not like the small lifts, however appreciated not having to climb stairs to the third floor.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We spoke little Italian, but the people at the front desk spoke very good English and were very helpful. The morning head waiter really went out of his way to make sure that we were well taken care of. Our schedule varied from day to day and the maid was very accommodating on cleaning our room. We had one of the best rooms in the hotel and had two balconies and two bathrooms. The morning breakfast was well worth the cost. They offered hot eggs, bacon and porridge and also croissants, yogurt and cereals, etc. We were able to make a reservation in the morning to have a five course dinner that night in their restaurant, if we wanted to. It was a very delightful experience!
The staff on reception were exceptionally helpfull. A very relaxed atmosphere in general.
Relaxed and friendly atmosphere, space and general ambience in public areas, room upgrade (unsolicited)
I stayed 6 nights with service free drink in refregerator. There is no air conditioner and I will not stay in summer time.
Friendly staff, big room, excellent value for money, location near the centre. The english spoken by the staff
