Excellent 10.0
Pros: We were welcomed by Carolyn when we first came and she explained a lot of details about the suite. She makes the best rum punch as a welcome drink, which was in the fridge. Nirvana was one of the cleanest places I have been to. Levi is out raking the beach every AM (lots of seagrass) and puts out the cushions for the beach chairs. The breakfast had many choices and each day we had a Beliezan item. Barbara and Evan are engaging and wonderful to talk to. I had many questions prior to the arrival and we talked to Barbara on the phone which was so helpful. The suite is stocked with so many items like you would have at home, including bug spray, beach towels, flashlight and a small cooler. Also, nice to have, since we went in the rainy season were 2 umbrellas! The bed was so comfortable and there were multiple pillows. the location was so close to town you can walk everywhere. Many choices for dinner. my favorite was the Galley. All staff were friendly and great at their jobs.
Cons: The VCR didn't work but they corrected the issue in a timely manner. The beach is small but you are steps away from the beach, and our portion was kept clean but the rest of the beach had so much seagrass and some trash (not Nirvana's issue)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: It was beautiful and well kept and clean and I loved it been infront of the beach.
Cons: It was a little hard to find, we had to ask around for the location.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Stunning kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathrooms. Our private veranda was huge and looked down on the highly manicured beach! Caroline and Levi were simply the best!!!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Literally right on the beach, which they rake and tidy up every day. Hammock is nice touch. Even in the busy season, my guess is that Placencia doesn't get over-crowded. We needed and were able to relax and unwind bigly.
Cons: If you drive, make peace with the speed bumps...
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast was like continental and area was good.
Cons: Family with kids made too much noise after we were sleeping. Our friends complained and got their room comped. No compensation for us. We were there 2 nights, friends only one.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We loved absolutely everything about this place!!!! We will be back!!!! Caroline and all the staff (sorry I did not get their names) were awesome!!!!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amazing service, private space, lovely view, location was extremely convenient. Lots of thoughtful little details like a yoga mat, water filter to drink the tap, coffee and tea, usb port and breakfast on the roof!
Cons: The beach was filled up with seaweed and made it very hard to swim (not the hotels fault)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This place was amazing, right on the beach and they thought of everything! There was even a yoga matt in my room, next to the robes that were provided. The breakfast was great, we used the bikes that were provided to go on a bike ride. Levi was just amazing, picking us up from the airport and taking us to our next destination.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The facilities were well maintained and the beach is steps away from your room. The rooms are comfortable and most at have a patio or balcony. All of the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful! I would definitely stay here again on a return trip.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The setting was very picturesque. The meals were well cooked and very reasonably priced. The staff was very attentive and friendly.
Cons: The drapes to the outside patio were torn. The bed was a bit noisy and soft.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Location and food
Excellent 9.0
Pros: fantastic staff, some of the best
Cons: Not much, they should fix the toilet the water ran
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I loved the sailing …. And sandy beach , the atmosphere… the beds were very comfy … the staff very friendly and helpful
Cons: There was some garbage on beach ….
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff is great. Mildred helps you with everything you need, Emery fixes great drinks at the bar and chef Mo cooks amazing food.. The ambiance, the location. I love to see the ocean when I wake up in the mornings. The suie we stayed at was very comfortable.
Cons: My wife and I tried hard to think about one thing we didn't like about this place, couldn't come up with a single one.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Very nice rooms, and as close to the beach as we've ever seen (due mainly to the reef preventing much in the way of tides). Staff was genuinely friendly. The tour (Monkey River) and service (massage) they arranged were very good. Had one dinner there which was good and a couple times at the bar, with friendly bartender (Emory).
Cons: While Placencia Village was a 10-15 min drive (and Seine Bight very short), nothing was in walking distance. What was a BIG disappointment. It seems you cannot go snorkeling in one of the cayes with less than 4 people. My son and I wanted to go snorkeling, but could not get a tour with just two. The resort was unable to arrange, and I checked on my own and this seems to be the case. I can understand a boat being full, but not being able to fit 2 people in makes no sense. If you are a party of two and want to see Placencia's main attraction (reefs), you're out of luck. This is a Placencia-based issue and not the fault of the resort (unless they can make a connection with a tour operator who doesn't adhere to this insane policy).
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Loved, loved, loved Laru Beya. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. My room was so comfortable with a partial ocean view, but constant trade winds and the sound of the waves could be heard 24 hours s day. Grounds were immaculate.
Cons: Only drawback is that you have to get a taxi or rent a golf cart if you want to visit the town. Nothing is within walking distance.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: I will stay there in AGAIN for sure
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was well kept up, clean and tidy. The restaurant has excellent food. All interactions with staff were great, they were super about arranging reservations, snorkeling etc. Very personable.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: the staff were very accommodating , helpful and friendly VERY CLEAN EXCELLENT FOOD
Cons: NO COMPLAINTS
Excellent 10.0
Pros: With this being my first trip to Belize in general, I was not sure of what to expect. Maya Beach Hotel and Bistro is close enough to the Placencia Village (shopping, night life) but far enough out for rest and relaxation. The Bistro is frequented not only by hotel guests, but people from nearby neighborhoods and resorts as well. It was our favorite restaurant overall.
Cons: The mosquitoes, but alas, they are everywhere in Belize this time of year.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The owner is very attentive and active in the operation. They even had free use of the ocean kayaks for guests.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: I like that it wasn’t commercially big and not too many guests. It allowed you to enjoy the place more. It was also great that it had its own restaurant that served good food so if you just wanted to relax & stay in the resort, you could. The staff was also amazing. Everyone was very warm, helpful & accommodating.
Cons: The beach lounge chairs were not very comfortable & one was broken.
Good 7.0
Pros: The view is incredible! The hot water stayed hot + the ac did not disappoint.
Cons: The lighting in the kitchen area was too dim. We live in Belize, so to us it was expensive to stay.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room was very comfortable and clean, loved the outdoor shower! I loved sitting up in bed looking out to the water.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I love everything about this property! The location, rooms, food, pool, activities, staff and services are unmatched. This is my second time staying at Naia and I will be coming back!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Restaurants, chefs, servers were all incredible. This resort will cater to nearly all special food requests within reason.
Cons: Minor issues with doors not be able to fully close inside our villa presumably due to humidity.
Good 7.5
Pros: You get a “private” large room.
Cons: Poor service, not very accommodating, difficult to find your room, specially at night. Curtains in the bedroom are see-through with little to no privacy. You can see other guests building from the outdoor shower, it’s not as private as they make everything look. We arrived around noon to see if we could get a massage scheduled that day because we were leaving the next morning and had a meeting at 9:00am. Since they couldn’t do anything to fit me us that day, their suggestion was to move my meeting, you know, the one I flew across the word for. How about bring in another employee. The spa was one of the large parts of us booking this hotel. And the hotel has a number of open rooms. We won’t be booking this hotel again, and we come here a lot. I used to live here. There are much better deals closer to all of the action in town.
Excellent 10.0
Cons: Door locks were a little inconvenient
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent service and hospitality from the moment I was in touch with the resort after booking. So helpful with anything that you may need, from airport bookings/transfers and activity reservations. The property was very nice, a little removed from the hustle and bustle that may be encountered at other resorts. Naia definitely does not skip details. My beachfront room/casita was even better than the pictures depicted. I fell in love as soon as I walked in! The bed! The bathroom and soaking tub! The outdoor garden shower! I truly feel that Naia had the right idea when it came to property planning and unit design. The yoga studio and instructor was amazing. The spa— wow! The spa experience was AMAZING - the facilities are tucked among mangroves and staff are unmatched. The meal options at the on site restaurants were great as I ate on the property for all meals and each one was delicious! The restaurants even attracted non-Resort guests to dine. The only regret I had was not partaking in any off-site excursions - however as a solo traveler with most (if not all) options requiring two people minimum and it was a slower/low season, I was limited - which was fine since the purpose of my trip was for relaxation and there was much to keep me occupied on the property. I’m already looking forward to a future stay at Naia.
Cons: That I left sooner than LobsterFest was to begin! More lighting on the property - hard to see on the walk back to my building after dinner (especially being alone!). Unpredictable timing of housekeeping - one day the staff came at 11:30am, another day it was 2:30! So it was just easier for me to hang a “Do not disturb sign”. Otherwise, it was a nonissue!

Pros: I stay here quite often and used to rent long-teme so I know the place and enjoy every stay.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was great and I will return and tell my friends.
Cons: Nothing!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff was amazingly helpful. The AC worked better than ever. The room was spotless. 4 minutes to walk to beach. Restaurants all around. They even have a bbq which we used and made hot wings. We loved our stay. Highly recommend staying here.
Cons: I dont have any real complaints.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This is our second stay at Placencia Villas. We love the compact but efficient "Butterfly" cabin for it's kitchenette (family meals), two bedrooms, screened in 2nd floor veranda and little hidden location right in the middle of the village (close to everything-- groceries, restaurants, swimming, etc!). We will be back!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: amazing ocean front and seconds to the beach. 20 minutes from the airport. easy layout and it feels like you have a private island kind of feel.
Good 7.0
Cons: Lack of privacy in the bathroom.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Excellent service, the food was delicious and good location. The room was clean and comfort. Plus, the excellent breeze and views to the beach.
Cons: During my stay it rained during the nights and the water was seeping through the ceiling.
Good 7.0
Pros: The staff is amazing.
Cons: The rooms could use a little updating.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The trip to Belize was fraught w/ disappointments but determined to make the best out of my last 2 days (out of the 7 that I was there) I decided to make the drive to Maya a beach to try to rescue my week. The Singing Song INN was terrific! So charming and welcoming. Due to Covid-19 the country has a 10PM curfew and because of the global situation the INN and the area was very quiet. They did a great job of making us feel welcome and have a great restaurant and bar that made it easy to stay safe and enjoy the area in spite of the restrictions. Great Place! FYI, Belize is the home to the nicest people on Earth...FACT
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Magical place. Landscaping is a lush, well maintained. Beautiful quiet beach. Nice and private room with beautiful view. The staff and owners: Mike and Maya are extremely helpful. The restaurant offers unique and tasteful food. Loved it
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The staff Wes very friendly and accommodating. I loved the Asian influences on the decor. Food is excellent
Cons: Very windy location and the sargassum on all the beaches.
Good 7.1
Pros: Nice beach, beautiful hotel area, staff was really friendly, rooms/ hotel area really clean!
Cons: Horrible Wifi, google.com was not able to load, DSL is faster!!!!! Stayed afterwards in an other hotel next to the Singing Sands and had 30Mbps download. Hotel is faraway from Placencia downtown, ca. 20-30 min.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The staff, the vibe, the bungalows and the food
Cons: Location is maybe a bit far from Placencia, without a car you can only reach by bus or taxi

Excellent 8.8
Pros: Great location. Great staff. Very clean. So close to the beach.
Poor 1.0
Pros: the location is great...and beach access is good....and they were very accomadating
Cons: room was not good
Okay 4.0
Pros: Location is awesome. About the only thing it has going.
Cons: Dark room. Advertising made it look much better than it was. No idea why this is rated above a 6. Owner and staff are really nice.
Okay 5.0
Cons: There is a general dis repair of things in the rooms. I would not go back there in the future. Broken paper holders, mouldy towel bars, noisey fans, plugged shower heads.
Poor 1.0
Pros: I didn't like the Serenade at all. I was very glad to leave.
Cons: It was like an average hostel. Not clean. Room wasn't serviced. Linen and towels not changed. Tiny dark room. Old and mouldy. Overall unpleasant.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The community kitchen.
Cons: Nothing.
Excellent 10.0
I will definitely stay here again and again and again. The best part of staying at the Serenaded is definitely the people that run the place. They are boisterously friendly and a lot of fun. At times It felt more like visiting with family without the issues than staying at a hotel. Reasonable rates and great location. The rooms are basic but actually very charming with AC available in some rooms. You can hang out on the veranda any time, have a meal (breakfast was my favorite) or enjoy a cool drink while getting to know the staff and other guests. This was a great way for me to get information on things to do and where to go. I really enjoyed my stay here. Met lots of interesting locals and travelers; It is a real crossroads and yet relaxed and peaceful at the same time.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lans the owner gave us such good advices... he helped us to book some activities and restaurant... he also knows a lot about the history of Belize... Thkx !!!!
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lance was an awesome help with planning the details of my stay and activities in Belize. This was a super value and well within my expectations. I would stay at the Serenade again without question.

Okay 5.0
Pros: View from the rooms is fantastic! Front desk and restaurant staff are great! Pool is clean and refreshing.
Cons: No coffee maker in room. No safe. No screen on one window. Shower drain had broken part sticking up like a knife. Shower would not fully shut off and could hear it running all night. Refrigerator didn’t work. Air conditioning didn’t work properly. There is only one pool and your site shows 3. Property is not luxury. Should not be advertised as such. We had a nice time, but were very mislead by descriptions. Pool bar not open. Bar at end of pier not open. Management needs to fix several things to get this resort back to how it used to be.
Okay 4.0
Pros: The staff were excellent and the service was great. Breakfast was also very good.
Cons: We were the only guest in the entire resort. Shuttle to village only ran 1 way and had to take taxi back each time. It also ran at odd times, 10 AM and 3PM. Room was dated, refrigerator in bathroom did not work properly and shower faucet leaked constantly. Room was in desperate need of a make over. No beach to speak of, sea grass and rocks blocked the entrance to the water. Grounds were well kept but the resort definitely has seen better days!
Poor 1.0
Cons: We were the only guests, yet were given the least comfortable room on the resort. We have stayed here before and had very nice rooms with comfortable furniture. The furniture in this room was terrible and the only good place to sit was on the bed. We were told that there is no manager at this time. The restaurant had a very limited menu and the food was marginal at best. This stay didn't even compare to a stay at Motel 6 in the states.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The cleanliness, helpful and nice staff, quiet area to rest and spend good time
Good 7.0
Pros: The main building is lovely. And the staff is terrific.
Cons: The food is not good, unfortunately.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: We stayed at the resort for one night in March just before everything closed down due to COVID-19. We were the only 2 customers at the resort. The staff there were exceptional...I think they may have stayed open just for us. We flew to Belize City the next day and I think the staff headed home after dropping us at the airport. The room was spacious and the breakfast was delicious!
Cons: The setting is lovely with trees and shrubs around the property, but we did get a few bites while down near the beach - might have been sand flees or other tiny biting insects.
Good 7.0
Pros: Breakfast - was very delicious and fresh, more than what I was expecting and plenty of options. from fruits, coffee, toast and jam, eggs, pancakes, and some of their local delicacies. Accommodations - to/and from resort was a little hectic and not very accommodating. I spent more money on taxis to the resort and into the city than I would have liked to. This brings me to location. The Location - is great if you plan on not leaving the resort at all. It is only about 5 min. from the airstrip, but if you want to go into town then it's annoying to have to pay for a taxi ride in. The RG resort was supposed to have shuttle access but they do not specify that it is only once in the morning and maybe another time in the evening (as I was told it is not guaranteed.)
Cons: I didn't get a chance to do any of the activities I was hoping for, some due to the weather or timing. At that point I thought maybe the concierge would have suggested other activities that might have been possible. It seemed they lacked a little knowledge and our enthusiasm to keep their guests happy and excited to be there. The wifi connection was terrible, I could only have ease of access near the registration desk and in my room, but not much around the lounge chairs in the front.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: We could see and hear the ocean from our room, and enjoyed spending time on our porch facing the ocean too. Great breakfasts, wonderful pools and grounds, and memorable massage on the beach!
Cons: The only drawback is the thin beach that gets a lot of seaweed washing up. The RG staff impressively cleans it up each morning, but it isn’t the world’s most impressive beach. It is beautiful though and lovely to sit on to enjoy.
Okay 4.5
Cons: The service really offset the beautiful setting. Value was off. $250 a night but operating at a $100 a night level. No towels, shanty portions at breakfast, customer second mentality, erred charges on hotel bill, no airport shuttle, shuttle bookings often pushed or voided.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Small, family managed resort has relaxed old fashioned vibe while providing modern conveniences like induction stove and smart TV. We had 2 bedrooms apartment each room with its own bath and a/c. Nice big pool surrounded by palm trees, deck stretching to the ocean with gazebo make you wish to stay forever. About 20 min drive to village and 10 min to good restaurant suggested by innkeeper
Cons: Seaweed was high at the time we were there but that was along entire costal area
Good 6.0
Pros: It was quiet, and felt safe.
Cons: Over-priced really. It is half way between being close to Placencia village, and being a remote resort, and ticks neither of these boxes. Mind you, within 5 km north or south, there are good restaurants.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The pool and beds were comfortable. Location was close to family. Private
Cons: Everything was great. Just the water would go off and on all week.
Mediocre 3.8
Pros: Pool and view of ocean. Good staff
Cons: Room had a mouldy, mildew and damp smell. I was gross I had to purchase air fresheners because the smell was very bad. It bothered my lungs. Linen had stains and smelled bad. Bed sagged. At night time trying to sleep I was being bitten my something. Next morning I had red bites on both legs. I slept on top of the covers for rest of our reservation. Place was overly priced.
Mediocre 3.8
Cons: Old and in poor shape
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: the Hotel is right at the Beach which is nice and the rooms are a good size
Cons: *The beach was very dirty, a lot of plastic trash. I asked the worker if he could give me a bag to clean it up he said no he will do it. what he did was, that he threw the trash back in the ocean which made me really sad. the next day I cleaned the beach with my kids, it us less than 45min. the property next door has such a nice and clean beach area, its a great example but very said to see all the plastic on our side. and also not very comfortable to play with little kids in all that trash. *we stayed 4 nights, our room was never cleaned. *the restaurant was closed
Poor 1.0
Pros: Cyril is the man, that is all.
Cons: Everything about this place was bad. No flushing toilet, no hot water, no functional kitchen. Bad and unsafe area of town in Sien Bight. Owner only cares about money, and is a tool to boot. I wouldn't recommend this place to my enemy. Stay far away.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Right on the beach, pool and shallow ocean for the kids
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Great beach location and the owners really give you personal service.
Cons: Not luxury fixtures but comfortable and very good for the price.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The Turtle Inn is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at and I have traveled the world and stayed at some of the very best. From the insanely beautiful property, the above and beyond staff and amenities, to the most beautiful villa I’ve ever had the pleasure to stay in. The G.M. Martin left a handwritten note welcoming us next to a jar of home baked chocolate chip cookies. They bring you a complimentary cocktail to your room. The beds and bedding are luxurious and of the highest quality. The bathrooms and secluded indoor/outdoor showers are so lovely. There are fresh flowers and personal touches everywhere. The dinner we had at Mare restaurant was fresh and crazy delicious. The servers were so friendly and attentive. The swimming pools and beach front are some of the prettiest and most serene swimming I’ve had the pleasure to enjoy. The villas themselves are indescribably beautiful. The Turtle Inn truly is an escape to paradise as you’ve always imagined it could be. It over delivers. The Coppola’s and crew, especially their manager Martin and his kindness have created the perfect retreat from this harsh world. Treat yourself.
Cons: Nothing. It’s perfect.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The resort was great and the individual cottages are the perfect size to relax and enjoy the generous higher end space. The outdoor shower is the perfect way to stay cool at night before bed. Service was outstanding. Management knows exactly how to run and maintain a beautifully beach resort.
Cons: Not much to say here. But Booking.com could show more additional options that will be available. For example, booking optional outings/adventure with the resort are available to further enjoy the stay.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Food was amazing and had a amazing day snorkeling.
Cons: Bugs and the heat sometimes
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Alles was gewoon perfect, paradise
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff - their exceptional service, their willingness to go above and beyond, and their genuine kindness easily seen as they try to remember every guest’s name. The property - the cottages and villas are private, comfortable, and accommodating; the garden which is home to the source of their amazing dishes; the pools that are big enough to hold multiple groups and the perfect temperature between hot and cold; and the location, smack dab between the ocean and the lagoon, a mile bike ride away from town.
Cons: That it’s ruined other ocean-front properties for me.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Fantastic Hotel. Staff were very pleasant.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Barefoot elegance sums up this resort. Excellent food and stunning scenery. Most hospitable staff and every convenience to make this a memorable trip.
Cons: No complaints whatsoever !
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff was extremely nice and helpful. They cleaned our villa at least twice per day including once while we were at dinner and turned down our bed and lit candles for when we got back. Concierge was able to get us on any trip we wanted at the drop of a hat.
Cons: Nothing. It was exactly as advertised and better.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Comfort and beauty, balinese authentic decor, shellphone, caipirinha on the beach, outdoor shower, floating hibiscus in birdbaths, silent movie night, delicious food, dedicated and friendly staff, a dream come true, a little peace of paradise...
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The attention to detail at Turtle Inn was exceptional. From the freshly baked cookies in the room to the turndown service in the evening. The outdoor shower was amazing. The staff was so helpful and friendly. A wonderful variety of meals and cocktails. Can’t wait to come back.
Cons: Thank can’t think of a thing I disliked about Turtle Inn

Excellent 9.0
Pros: We found the resort to be very comfortable and convenient. The shuttle into the village worked out perfectly for getting out for dinner. The staff was able to book two great tours for us - snorkeling at Laughing Bird Caye and a Monkey River Tour.
Cons: The wifi was not reliable in our room.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The people were amazing! I have been a frequent guest at a small boutique hotel in Mexico. This resort experience was beyond my expectations. I will definitely recommend this property as a great, safe and relaxing place to vacation.
Cons: That I had to leave!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Everything, the two pools, our room, the service, the beach, location near to the village and of course the welcome drinks. Excellent for our family stay.
Cons: Two King size beds (instead of one queen size) would be more comfortable.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: From the moment we were picked up at the airport, we experienced nothing but phenomenal service and attention at Chabil Mar. The accommodations were perfect, sparking clean and spacious. The on-site food service was amazing and delicious. The staff were genuinely nice and so helpful. The grounds were immaculate and we took advantage of the pool, kayaking and even booked an awesome tour through the concierge. We did not want to leave! We got engaged on this trip and are considering getting married at Chabil Mar next summer! I’d give this place 20 stars if possible! We look forward to visiting again!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Goregous resort, beautifully appointed villas, friendly and accommodating staff. We felt very pampered and the views from every villa were wonderful. Also loved Placencia - we have stayed at Ambergris Caye and checked out Hopkins but glad we chose Placencia. Small quiet town/village with lots of character but still plenty of activity. San Pedro felt run down by comparison.
Cons: We loved everything about the resort!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff and service was exceptional...happy to help with anything and everything! Gorgeous property with plenty of activities to keep you busy in the area. Food and drinks were great! Very quiet and relaxing...just what we needed.
Cons: N/A
Excellent 10.0
We had an excellent and unique experience at Chabil Mar. The property itself is comfortable, and there are little extras everywhere you look. We really enjoyed being able to jump on bikes for a quick ride around town, and there were also kayaks and paddle boards to explore the bay. Our villa was clean and comfortable, and had a full kitchen, which we stocked with some necessities. We had meals both on-property and also in town. Barefoot Bar was great for lunch, and we kept going back to Rumfish for dinner. The staff at Chabil Mar was very friendly and helpful. They booked our in country hopper flight, and then picked us up at the Placencia airport. They also helped us decide on day trips, and booked everything on our behalf. For a land trip, we went to the Mayan ruin of Xunantunich, followed by cave tubing at Jaguar Paw. Another day we went out to Silk Caye for some pretty awesome snorkeling. On the off days, we really enjoyed just hanging out on the pier at Chabil Mar. I can't say enough about the staff at Chabil Mar. I will single out Nikita and Sheldon for all their attention, but the entire staff deserves a big thank you.

Pros: We were right on the beach with a beautiful view. I loved the open windows with the wooden shutters to let the breeze in. We enjoyed the outdoor shower and the dock with the hammocks and lounge chairs.
Cons: No coffee pot in the room but the coffee was available by 6:15am.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Quiet area and not far from the beach.
Cons: Everything was great
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very clean room, kitchen and bathrooms well kept, short walk to the beach and entertainment. As a guest house it was all you could expect or need, Lydia was great to deal with and I would definitely stay there again.
Good 7.0
Pros: Good location
Cons: The small/single bed mattress was terribly soft and caved in. Should have been thrown out years ago.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: We stayed in a double bed room. Nothing fancy but just right! Very clean and just a short hop to the beach, shops, bank, and restaurants. Chairs and mats are available for lounging, a communal kitchen, plus a dedicated fridge for dorm dwellers. Secure and quaint; everything one would need for a relaxing vacation. Very limited parking but no need for a car.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: I really liked this Guesthouse. It's one of the few retainong the old traditional style built of wood. It's accessed right off the pedestrian walkway running paralell to the beach. The beach is just 100m or so away. The hotel is wellrun and well maintained. There is a kitchen and also an extra fridge in the corridor close to the rooms. I really liked the sandy garden with tables and chairs out front. Also the rooms are very clean and made very practical so it's also suitable for long stays. Very close to supermarket and bus station.
Cons: It was nothing at all which I didn't like.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This is a wonderful place to stay in Placencia. The location is perfect, steps from the beach and close to restaurants/bars. I was here for 7 nights and it was always quiet ans everyone was extremely friendly. Two fans in the room kept the temperature comfortable and the beds were great. The staff really make the place, Lydia genuinely cares about her guests and making sure you have the best stay possible. Great value, will definitely be back!
Cons: Loved it all!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The owner Lydia runs a tight ship: she does not allow excess noise or irresponsible behavior, so it is very pleasant staying there .There is a communal kitchen, great way to meet the other guests. Everyone was friendly.
Cons: Really, for the price, there isnt anything negative I could say.
