Excellent 10.0
Pros: I cannot recommend elephant plains game lodge enough to everybody! we had the times of our lives with ranger ted and tracker colbert! they are such professionals with a lot of knowledge and passion in what they are doing. We saw the big 5 and more in 2 game drives. It was absolutely amazing and we were taken care of by all the staff so well. We will go back here 100%
Cons: nothing
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Awesome location. Game drives were excellent - our guide was extremely knowledgeable and good to spend time with. Three really nice meals included.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great game viewing and a really comfortable lodge with knowledgeable guides.
Cons: Plastic water bottles on game drives The lodge should either supply reusable bottles to each guest or ask them to fill their own at a water cooler. It would be much greener
Excellent 9.0
Pros: amazing staff, game drives, food, pool, rooms- Perfect!!!!
Cons: the road to get there wasn’t great!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast and meals generally were good
Cons: General area surrounding lodge is tribal area and a bit busy for bush setting
Good 7.0
Cons: I hoped for more in the world renowned Sabi Sands. I expected to see lots and lots of animals. But that's just not the case (maybe it was us having very bad luck). If you are looking to see leopards, then Sabi Sands might be the right place for you. Besides that, there are a lot of places (among them the Kruger NP) where you can see more animals at a far lower price. In my opinion, Sabi Sands isn't worth the money. Specific for Elephant plans game lodge; the food was a dissapointment. For us, staying at a lodge like this means you don't want to see boerewors for diner.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The game drives were exceptional
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Cons: Nothing this place is amazing, magical and allowed me to see these animals so close and felt safe at all times. Elephant Plains was the highlight of my trip to South Africa

Excellent 8.0
Cons: al fresco meal in a sand pit
Good 7.0
Pros: Friendly and helpfull staff. Good food. Excellent guide. Great ambiance.
Cons: No shade on veranda. Cannot sit outside in the morning. Everything a bit dilapidated. Lights not clean, full of buggs.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The location by the riverbed and the old safari decoration are differently the best. The manager of the camp is a very good man, and he helped us with special requirements
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Food was very good. Staff was extremely accommodating and friendly.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: I wanted to go on a walking safari and initially booked at the lodge. Having a sense I was wrong I phoned and was immediately transferred to Plains Camp. They were very attentive to my special requests and certain things cannot be put into words. The remoteness, the guide and tracker, the room, the food and staff, everything was spot-on to what I was looking for. Darryl Sheedy (our guide) and Amos (tracker) formed a perfect combination and the balance between quiet and attentiveness to our needs were simply magical. His knowledge of the bush simply delivered on every expectation. I can go on and on!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Special place and even more special people make this a place to come back to again&again. The cottages are cute and clean (beware the monkeys!), food is a treat, and as for the guides, you couldnt find a better bunch of people. James is passionate about wildlife, and knows a lot about birds too, something we came to appreciate. Lucky enough to see the Big 5 this time, plus other amazing creatures.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: one of he best
Cons: nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff was super friendly and efficient, service was excellent. Location was awesome, loved it from start to finish, will definitely be back.
Cons: No cappacino's :-)
Excellent 9.0
Pros: James - excellent guide!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very relaxing, great facilities, very friendly and helpful staff. Great game drives.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The unfenced lodge gives a real feel of the "bush". The safari rides were awesome and our guide James was always up to the challenge to please all our long list of sightings. The staff was super kind and helpful and the place is neat. Food was quite good. I would come back there again.
Cons: They didn't catered for our dietary requirements we gave in advance . Also, albeit the special ocassion was anniversary, the bed arrangement was 2 singles. However it was quickly rectified on day 2.

Good 7.0
Pros: on the river
Cons: everything
Good 7.0
Pros: Excellent. Everything was cooked to perfection and the rest were wonderful. Linduo at reception was a real eye-opener who had around 10 people to check in on his own. Reception phones were ringing and he calmly answered each one, and dealt with them all with great aplomb. All whilst not even raising a sweat. Don’t ever lose this magnificent performer!!!! An umbrella to the room 414 was necessary with all the rain. Sorted out perfectly for us by Lyndsay. Breakfast was brought to me in the room Samantha who was exceptional as was the breakfast.
Cons: Not much. Good gravy for the pap and the lamb, which was excellent. Salad table magnificent. Desserts - fruit salad, cheese cake good balance dry or stodgy. Once again good personnel and waiters. Lighting on route from reception to 414 was poor in places. Horrible potential ankle breaker on walkway where a small manhole cover is seriously needed.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We just loved everything, especially the pool the room was outstanding.the bed was so comfortable
Cons: Nothing
Good 7.0
Pros: loved the room that we were upgraded to
Cons: their food especially dinner was very disappointing
Excellent 10.0

Excellent 10.0
I would like to extend my appreciation to the following people: Aleck who managed to assist being our waiter for that evening, such an easy man who goes extra mile on everything he does. Melissa (Goitsimang) made it possible for everything to go as planned. Keep up the good job,you such an asset for Protea Hotel. Pretty thanks for the help with the preparation and helping Melissa out. Lucky,Given,Havny and Wisani what a wonderful welcoming we got and helping with our luggage. We really appreciate your help and we enjoyed our stay at Protea Hotel. Will definitely call again 🥰🥰
Good 7.0
been coming to our lodge for almost 30 years. There has been a great deal of work in the lodge, but the cupbaords and windows and doors and floors have seen better days. Reallyneeds an upgrade. Also very little cleaning and maintenance outside needs a lot more care. Staff appear to be unhappy, i.e. very little smiling or enthusiasm shown Food in lapa and from pool area really not 4 star. Really needs a lot of work to improve presentation and quality of food. Definitely not worth the R260 in the Lapa. Need to look around to other venues to see how behind you are. These comments are just for you to know to improve Protea Kruger, for after all we have a share here and dont want to see this beautiful hotel decline

Excellent 10.0
An experience of a lifetime. One of the most beautiful places in the world. Thank you.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast was and Game Drives were great.
Cons: Our Luxury room was not private. it had a interleading room which was apparently not accessible to us and was booked out to other people. We had to down grade to a standard room which is much cheaper. The establishment is not bothered to contact us or refund us as there is a huge difference in terms of price between the Luxury room and the standard room.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Absolutely everything
Cons: This is really a fantastic place, we could not fault anything
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Exceptional experience. Your every need is looked after from the minute you arrive until you leave. Special thanks to our fantastic guide, Jamie and our tracker, Joe, who were so knowledgeable and went out of their way to make our safari experience unforgettable. You will get to see the big 5 here and lots more. The hotel is superb - spacious and comfortable rooms & bed, fantastic restaurant and food, with your own butler to look after you during your stay. Cannot recommend enough.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Personal service, great game drives, minimalist and fitting with nature
Cons: No local food options, bush walk was disappointing due to lack of enthusiasm and explanations
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything and everyone in the Lion Sands was exceptional! What a well run lodge. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out, we encountered professionalism, attentiveness, and the highest level of customer service. Attention to detail is out of this world! Our safari guide Jamie was wonderful as well as our butler Elliot. Nadia, general manager went above and beyond to accommodate us. Thank you! We were able to see Big Five at the Lion Sand reserve. What a fun we had tracking leopard steps!!! Highly recommend this exclusive lodge. Well worth the price you pay! We are already planning to return in the future and we’ll plan on staying longer!
Cons: Everything is perfect!
