Glamping at the Durrell Wildlife Camp was truly amazing! The pod was perfect and the safe were all so nice and inviting. We are planning our return trip for next year already. This has been a truly amazing experience and I urge everyone to do it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A first go at ‘glamping’! A great setting, waking up to the sound of the animals in the mornings. Really happy to be supporting so many conservation projects which couldn’t take place in the wild. Combining the stay with experiences with the keeper team plus the twilight walk through the site when the public had gone gave that extra touch. All of the staff are clearly passionate about the animals they care for. The accommodation staff are equally enthusiastic and welcoming.
We left wishing we had stayed for much longer. We had no idea what to expect when we booked but any expectations we could have had were totally exceeded. We had a sleeping pod plus separate are with kitchen and bathroom. There was decking with table & chairs plus lingers. Our pod backed onto the trees that the lemurs use to sunbathe in the morning so got some great photos. Enough equipment to enable you to cook. Probably the only thing I'd recommend adding is hairdryer- particularly for those of us that don't need it for other accommodation. Seriously wish we'd booked in for longer as we were so chilled out Recommend staying for a Wednesday or Sunday evening as they offer dusk tours with keeper after hours which was fascinating
Shower taps are a bit stiff - that's how hard you need to look for a negative
We had a wonderful weekend at the Zoo. Everything was spotlessly clean and pods were well equipped complete with egg cups. It’s an amazing conservation zoo where the animals have lovely enclosures with lots of greenery and waterfalls. Children loved it. Already planning to return next year
The internet rooter was taken in the night and there was suggested that we could have moved it
A literary mecca for Durrell book fans. Astonishingly comfortable glamping. International visitors should not miss this hidden accommodation gem. Super fluffy beds, proper private showers and toilets and your very own kitchen. What’s more, beautiful birdsong and small wildlife throughout the day. What better place to read (or re-read) Durrell’s books! Friday and Saturday nights you can takeout Thai and Pizza and eat under the stars on your private tent deck with a bottle of wine. Have you ever had thai curry while watching lemurs come and go? Incomparable! The zoo’s restaurants serve fancy hot entrees (several notches above most zoos - see photo) so they are a reliable daily meal option. Particularly like the fact that the “tourist” dollars spent here benefits not a corporate hotel chain, but the wildlife center and its conservation projects.
Nothing! It will probably never please people who dislike outdoor camping and its small inconveniences (fluctuating temperature, wildlife sounds) but they wouldn’t get glamping anyway! Check weather and prepare accordingly because you are under a tent with no climate control (there is a lovely wood fired stove).
With a stay at this campground in Trinity, you'll be by the ocean, steps from Jersey Zoological Park (Jersey Zoo) and a 4-minute drive from La Hougue Bie. Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and ATM/banking services. Free self parking is available onsite.
