Cons:
The car was filthy - seats stained, had half eaten food between seats, dirty plastic cups and used tissues int the car. It is clear the van had been used for commercial purposes, it was not fit to be used for a family vacation trip. I had to wait an hour for the car from when I arrived which made it clear it wasn’t ready and they tried to clean it a last minute, maybe even put the back chairs back in as the middle row wasn’t fitted well and the seats rocked a bit. Also the power outlet didn’t work so I couldn’t charge my phone for using as a GPS. It was very disappointing.4.8 Mediocre

We waited over an hour after our scheduled reservation time to get the car. We had carefully planned our itinerary and the late departure (waiting for the vehicle to be taken for fuel) messed things up badly. We ended up in rush hour traffic, which delayed our arrival in Tuscany and cost us extra $$4.0 Mediocre

DRop off was unstaffes, nothing but a handwritten signon the door. had to call a number to get instructions on how to drop off. no dropoff lot or key drop off. was instructed to leave the keyys inside a mailbox between two buildings. Pros:
Staff was great - a little pushy on buying insurance - but typical - so no problem at all. The problem was the key drop off. Despite an email received, I spent 45 minutes trying to find where to put keys - no box anywhere near cars or rental counters. Finally tried to hide them on rental desk9.6 Wonderful

We booked a car to be returned to Piazzale Roma in Venice Italy. With printed confirmation from them. However, nobody informed us that there is actually NO SIXT office at all at that location!! It was a Saturday, nobody picked up the phone when we called multiple times trying to figure out where to go. We were given an exact address that did not exist! After 3 hours of going back and forth in the area in torching heat and with 2 young children, one police officer on the road suggested we return the car at the airport. We did. The airport is far from there. We had to take the cab back to Piazzale Roma. We tried to complain at the airport counter, but nobody cared" I am just working here, I am not in charge". I said, please give me a receipt that I actually returned the car. They did not want to; they said it will come in my e-mail in a few days !!??!! It did come in the mail a few days later, but really, I had no proof that that I actually returned the car ok and in time!Europcar

Rental Car signage at Venice Marco Polo airport is very poor. Hard to tell where to go for pick up. Lots of unnecessary walking. Similarly, not clear exactly how to return cars (I've rented many dozens of times). Signage poor. No expiation at time of rental. Nonetheless, car clean functional, smooth operating.7.6 Good

venice airport location very confusing, no clear directions, going up and down tight elevaators, and being redirected to two buildings one for check in and the other one for returning without assistance? Had to negotiate at the desk for a different car booked on internet without a lot of choices available. Overall, a mediocre experience2.0 Poor

That there were surprises. I rented certain cars and the difference of what I actually got was so much people had to sit on each other’s lap and hold luggage for almost two hours. This is after I called to make sure I was getting the vehicles we needed. I was renting for a trip in a foreign country and it was very frustrating. I was also told when I called that I needed to pay for someone to stay after hours for pick up. When I arrived they told me that I didn’t need to do that. (That may be with the rental car place) but it was a waste of money. I didn’t like my experience ordering the cars as I had to order twice instead of once when getting two vehicles. That was inconvenient and confusing because it was not obvious when making the order.10.0 Wonderful

The car was fine/no problems there. It was clean and the rental rate was excellent.Cons:
At the time I made the reservation, I purchased the rental coverage offered by Allianz Travel Insurance through Kayak. The agent first told me there was a 3500 euro deductible that could be eliminated for a 35 euro per day charge. When I declined that he offered a 700 euro deductible at a cost of 5 euro per day. I declined that as well explaining I had pre-purchased coverage. Were I not the type of person who reads, I might have been talked in to paying this fee for useless coverage. I will allow that the agent might not have been aware of the Allianz coverage because I did purchase it through Kayak, but that is an issue with Budget and their training, not mine.3.2 Poor

AFter the long, long walk to the rental counter, it was refreshing to find out the vehicles themselves were in the same location -- just a few steps away.Cons:
The first car we were offered was missing its rear wiper. (Not just the rubber blade, but the whole thing -- arm and all.) They switched us to a different vehicle, and it was great -- but the first vehicle should have been taken out-of-service, repaired, and then returned to the fleet.5.2 Fair

Overcharged me on the final bill by almost $100. Desk agent said the "Optional Fuel Purchase" was mandatory but the charge would be removed if I brought the vehicle back with a full tank. Of course the final bill included the "optional fuel purchase" even though I returned the car with a full tank. Also the diesel car required several fillings of the additive "AD BLUE" or it would not start. Total out-of-pocket extra of more than 20 Euros. Reflection of poor vehicle maintenance/servicing on the part of Dollar/Hertz.Avis

Pros:
I rarely rent from Sixt since they came up expensive usually, but I had this great offer and it was not listed as Sixt but rather FLIZZR. The car war new and clean, No issues with picking up the car, very helpful customer service as I had experienced in former encounters with Sixt. Also the customer service representative hinted clearly on all and any pre-conditions (scratches, small dents), which I would have never been able to detect, since the rental place at the Cologne airport is rather a dark parking garage. I was even able to get an automatic for a small additional charge ($5 a day).Cons:
The car, an Opel (Vauxhaul or General Motors), was supposed to be an automatic, but felt like a hybrid manual and had a very strange way to shift. Didn't shift smoothly, but I was stagnantly shifting, at least I did not have to shift manually.9.6 Wonderful
