Very Attentive and Courteous Staff in Luxury
I love when staff member offered me and my family a bottles of water when we were waiting outside for my Lyft ride.i
I wish ice machines were on each floor however when I ask for ice at the front desk, I was supply with a bag.
Great customer service, layout of rooms, cleanliness, quality of soap products, complimentary coffee in morning, great location, full-service restaurant
Expensive valet parking.
Very professional, very polite, very nice.
Dirty and Trasy
The hot apple cider in the lobby. Great location.
The room was filthy. It was NYE so we didn't make a big fuss about it but we were not happy right away. Random sprays of stuff on the walls, a nice little white stain on the bed skirt. The first thing we did was check for bed bugs and luckily there were none. We went out for a nice dinner and when we got back there were security guards in the lobby who stopped us and asked if we were guests but we just nodded and he let us right by. We spent the rest of the night listening to one of our neighbors break glass and toss furniture around- I get it it's NYE but we didn't think this hotel was that kind of place or we never would have paid this much to stay here. The only thing the front desk did was offer us comped breakfast and to have security "look around". The final blow came upon checkout when we found out the valet fee was $50! $50?! Why not offer to comp that instead of breakfast no way we were gonna eat something made in this filthy place.
One of the best
Can rank this as one of the best. Not over the top stuffy but excellent service, clean, active, perfect proximity to all of DC, awesome decor, fabulous staff. We are just so pleased and are excited to know we no longer need to search for a place when we come to DC in the future. It will always be The Melrose.
Large room, with gracious service
The doormen/bell captains, and all the staff were incredibly gracious and helpful. The room was good-sized and well appointed. The location is great with many restaurants in walking distance. The Metro is about 3 blocks away.
The view from our room was not great, but we didn't care.
The decor was excellent. I recommend using the subway, it's a short walk away.
If it had a pool it would have been perfect, but otherwise it was fantastic. Service at the in-hotel restaurant was slow and food was a little overpriced compared to the excellent food you could get around town.
Location location location
Staff very friendly and accommodating. good location, nice area for walking, close to Rock Creek Trail
Been there twice and was consistently excellent
Rooms, staff and food
Great location, great food, great staff, very comfortable.
No coffee in the rooms!
The facility is perfect
The staff in charge of parking is not as good as i thought to be
Close to monuments in Washington DC
Do you have to tip? Tipping is stupid.
Since I was in DC as a tourist, its location in central DC, close to public transport, friendly staff, etc. werer much appreciated.
The staff. They were so friendly and helpful. Very welcoming and greeted us personally each time we passed through the lobby.
I enjoyed the classic design of the hotel. Not a "cookie cutter" hotel, like the major chains, which are too sterile. Nice dining room.
The ceiling in the shower is in need of repair
close to metro-easy to get around
Great room, very clean, and well appointed.
The exorbitant charge for using the in house phone (although I was warned by the concierge
Good value for money for an excellent room
The staff were very helpfull and the hotel was very clea and the location was excellent
Yakkell, the concierge, was friendly and always eager to please, but she was clearly at the mercy of a management staff that would change policy on her day to day.
The housekeeping was so so. The carpets were filthy and the air conditioning didn't work so when the temperature in Washington took a sudden climb the room was sweltering. The dining room had similarly low housekeeping standards. The morning I left I stopped in for breakfast and was seated twice at tables with dirty linens and crumbs.
