Pros: We stayed in a very nice family room. The entire staff is very friendly. The food is very well prepared. The garden is amazing, everything is clean and organized. We Will came back. We recommend. Thank you Ibrahim.
Cons: Anything
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The host, Ibrahim, and the rest of the staff all provided a very warm welcome. We felt at home with a fresh cup of Moroccan tea and dates upon our arrival. Dinner at the property was wonderful. In the morning we were taught how to make Moroccan tea ourselves! A great experience in paradise! Definitely recommend Riad dar Sofian to other travellers!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: the staff was friendly and helpful. Ibrahim even organised us an unforgettable trip to the sahara desert were we slept in a comfortable bed in a tent. He even organised a birthday surprise in the desert (traditional dessert with candles on top ) for my girlfriend. We can really recommend Riad Sofian

Pros: We loved how we were greeted at the arrival by Ibrahim and his female colleague! They were helpful, social and professional true our stay. The room was clean, comfortable and the design was not eye catching! Everything was simply beautiful!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location was excellent. We had a good time. Very nice staff. And good trip to desert, including a camel ride.
Cons: But take care of the road to Zagora. We traveled from Marrakesh and the road was under construction in numerous segments. Allocate another 2 hours for the road and a lot of patience.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff were so welcoming and kind. They told us a lot about local culture and we also enjoyed the tour in the village, it was one of the highlights of our trip for me - so authentic. I also appreciate how the owner restored his family home into the lovely guesthouse it is today. You can see the loving details everywhere in the kasbah.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: A very nice place with a swimming-pool and lovely people. The lady even washed our clothes for free - well, we gave a good tip obviously! We went back to the place after our night at the desert. Good breakfast! They played cards with our son.
Cons: All great!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: I liked the breakfast which was one of the best that I ate in Morocco. The bread was fresh, the eggs were great and I liked the juice and jams. The bed was comfortable. The internet and air conditioner worked fine. The room had a refrigerator that I enjoyed. The staff were kind and friendly. I would return here and recommend.
Cons: Nothing as this was an enjoyable stay.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hospitality is first class, the reception was amazing even though we arrived after 11pm. We were even served tea in the room. We were surprised that they upgraded our room for free. We arrived in an air-conditioned room, large, spacious, super clean and cozy. The beds and pillows are perfect !! Breakfast was on the rooftop terrace, and delicious. The place is authentic and beautiful. The service is perfect! recommended!!!!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very kind personnel, good facilities and nice room!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This Kasbah has a beautifull pool area, that is a must when the weather is too hot. Me and my son took advantage of it. However, what we consider to be the best thing about this Kasbah was the staff. They were so kind with us, always making sure that we had what we needed. Good dining also. Loved everything and considering the price - this is a 10.
Cons: Zagora was not a city we liked all that much, but this Kasbah made it worth it.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The host and his team were very welcoming and attentive. It’s a lovely Kasbah restored with great attention for details.
Cons: Nothing
Good 7.0
Pros: Dinner was very good. Kind staff and warm welcoming. Tableware was amazing, you can feel the berber atmosphere.
Cons: Bed linens were unconfortable.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: A nice place in the palm grove of Zagora. Rich breakfast and dinner. They have also a nice garden with beautifully colored bougainvilleas. The perfect place where to relax before the desert. Good value for money.
Cons: Nothing to signal.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff and manager, Brahim, were welcoming and bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was exceptionally good (and I'm quite demanding!)
Excellent 9.0
Pros: We loved our one night stay at Dar Nekhla. It is a beautiful riad in a palm grove, the owner was very welcoming, the food was great and servings - very generous. The rooms are nice as well with everything you would expect in Morocco.
Cons: We liked everything, but it would have been great to have some toiletries in addition to a bar of soap; cotton bedding sheets would have been nice as well.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Lovely Garden, fresh Air, nice Location

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very satisfied with service. The whole personnel staff very open to all request.Very good hotel facilities 👍🏽
Cons: None complain.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: We came here to relax and chill a bit after 10 full days of travelling all across the country and we hit the right place. Room was really clean, great bathroom (best shower of our trip), really well organized and super comfy. Garden is superb and overall the facility is really well presented. Breakfast was good too. Professional and super kind staff.
Cons: Our room was a little bit dark but photos are real and it was what we expected. Maybe laundry service a bit pricey (60MAD) but we didn’t use it so can’t really judge it
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Large room, swimming pool and beautiful garden, helpful and kind staff. After a day's journey here was amazing.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: I choose this hotel because of swiminpool and sound insulation. I expect better insulation but still we had here the best privacy, and we had been in 10 different accomodiation in Morroco.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything. Room, surroundings, cleanliness, kindness of staff.
Cons: Nothing, it's all very pleasant
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The outdoor was very nice. There was a bar and attentive staff who served our meals around the pool.
Cons: The room was a little disappointing, a hard mattress underlay, no hand towel, very basic in contrast to the outdoor ambience.
Good 7.9
Pros: Very spacious room, clean and above all the friendly staff.
Cons: There was no towels inside the bathroom for when you wash your hands or face.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: The kindness and openmindness of the owner Samir!!!. The atmoshere of the authentic way of Morrocan life. Do not expect the Ritz hotel. But you get the best price/quality you can get. I booked a dessert trip to Ergchegaga. It was the best choice to be made. I will always remember. Wonderfull.
Cons: You have to bring your own towel and soap.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very nice calm place with beautiful garden and nice people around.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Pretty garden and pool area. Big hotel with different options for eating areas and an outside bar. Low season so little choice in menu, food OK. Breakfast included croissant! Easy to walk into town.
Cons: Staff seemed jaded, not as warm a welcome as elsewhere. Wifi only available in downstairs seating area.
Good 7.1
Pros: Pool is great after a day of driving in the heat. AC in my room could have been a little more performant. Breakfast is out of this world! Gardens are delightful.
Cons: Location could be better, not a place you want to walk around at night as it is a bit out of the main town center. AC could work better..... Still waiting for an answer after contacting them about a clothing item we left behind accidentally...
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Nice staff, very near to the ctm and wonderful garden.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hotel is well-located, the owner is extremely kind, he waited for my partner and me until 11 p.m. The room is ample and comfortable. The view on the garden and the Zagora's mountain is stunning as the breakfast.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: PALACIAL with folks that treat you like family the moment you walk in. A member of our party had lost a phone at our last stop - the staff arranged to have it delivered to us in hours. All the mouth-watering meals were served with smiles and great conversation. A member of our party was sick when we arrived, and they provided soups made just for him and tea, sometimes just out of the blue in case he wanted some. Everyone so was attentive. The rooms were unbelievable - huge and SO comfortable. EXACTLY what you want after some time in the desert! If you're looking for a place in the area, THIS IS IT, so much character and comfy appeal. Thanks to the staff, they made the stay!
Cons: I honestly can't think of anything.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I loved everything about my stay and I really appreciate it how much the staff cared for my husband who was sick with food poisoning.
Cons: Absolutely nothing. Service and hospitality were amazing.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Beautiful peaceful gardens filled with birds. Amazing rooms. Great atmosphere. Interesting neighbourhood.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: IT WAS PERFECT
Excellent 10.0
Pros: A wonderful place to stay! The room (bungalow) was spacious, clean and very private,. The whole site is like an oasis, with palmtrees, little terraces, and a large garden. Good breakfast and good food for dinner. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the hamam and spa! If I ever get back in the region (inshallah!) I will definitely stay here!
Okay 5.8
Pros: I suppose Lamane is one of the better Riads in Zagora. And if I were to compare it to the camp in Sahara it’s probably a luxury.
Cons: Shower is dysfunctional, so is the credit card payment terminal.
Okay 4.2
Pros: Upon check in we where upgraded to a bungalow double room from the African double room, i did not book the bungalow room as i could see they are packed in close to each other, i booked the African room for the space around it. The bungalow room does have a terrace on top of it but ours was half full of junk. loads of old wire about 50 black light light tubes and 2 stands for the light tubes. We asked to be moved to the room we had booked, they said they would show use a room but there was building work going on in the area. the room we where shown was one of there modernized tents, which are not quite tents anymore because the African double i had booked or i should say all 5 had been ripped to bits as they are modernizing them also. So who knows what room you will get when you book. We stayed in the African side, we had it all to our self's it was so peaceful. A swimming pool is needed on the African side too. The furniture in the room was dusty and needs a good clean. The wooded floor was uneven with sharp corners sticking up. And the wheel barrow seats on the terrace look good at a first glance but are uncomfortable and wobble around when sitting in them and nearly fall over when you get up. The pool is small and shallow, is more of a kids pool.
Cons: Not being given the room i had booked or not even an explanation why we where put in a different room.
Mediocre 3.3
Pros: Even not change the bed sheet
Cons: I never going to stay there
Okay 5.8
Pros: Large rooms.
Cons: Bathroom very basic. Air conditioner barely kept up with the temperature. Fridge didn't work. Nice location but the facility is very tired and much in need of a through refresh. Evening meal OK but only marginal. Breakfast best described as basic.

Excellent 8.8
Pros: Location, friendly staff, good breakfast, mature gardens with swimming pool
Cons: Our bathroom needs to be upgraded: I had to tighten the shower head bracket on the wall to be able to use it. Bath drain needs to be unblocked to work properly
Good 7.5
Pros: Funky old place. Good location slightly the worse for wear. It did have a bar propped up by local characters. Attractive pool area. Friendly waiters. Pretty plantings.
Cons: Check in desk staff a bit muddled but ok in the end. Whole place needs a lick of paint to bring it back to its original glory! Overall good value

Okay 5.0
Pros: Pool was working, that's great.
Cons: 4 stars hotel??? No fridge, TV was not working, the furniture was old. The person who is serving breakfast said a negative comment because we we asking for a servet 2 times, it's very rude and unacceptable. 4 towels for 2 persons are not enough. They were not white and it gives you an impression that they are dirty.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: It was great breakfast but they need to change breakfast not same every day
Cons: Very good stuff and parking lot is covered and save
Poor 1.0
Pros: The location
Cons: There was no TV working the hot water the hotel the bed everything is very poor
Excellent 9.0
Pros: A good and quit location in the city. It 's beautiful. Spacious rooms. Very good beds. Lovely garden with a big swimming pool and very kind and helpful staff. Reception speaks their languages well. There is a nice bar. And place for carpaking on the property. I enyojed this place very much and would definitely return. From here it is also a good place to go on excursions into the desert.
Cons: It should be said that It needs a little bit of maintenance. A bit of paint on the outside. But still very very nice. I would definitely recommend it.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We spend one night in the Riad Salam. We spend a comfortable night in a clean and big room. The pool is great and the people who work there are very kind.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Good sized room with comfortable bed. Hot water in the shower (not lukewarm like so many places). Missed breakfast so can't comment.
Cons: Old hotel with old rooms that need at least a fresh coat of paint. WiFi wasn't working for the first couple of hours. Torn window screen. Couldn't open 1 window. Bar was loud until after 10, which normally wouldn't bother me, but I had to be up early the next morning.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Wonderful court yard with swimming pool, orange trees and bouganvelia, a lovely place to relax after sightseeing or even instead of sightseeing. Lots of restaurants and cafes nearby.
Cons: Everything was fine. The rooms were a little 'tired' but quite comfortable.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Big room, private bathroom, TV, wifi, private parking. Breakfast basic but satisfying. Location was central.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Right next door to sand dunes. Dinner was delicious, it’s like having dinner with your family. Beautiful skies and Patrick knows the stars
Good 6.3
Pros: 4 stars for a three-star accommodation I booked this place after comparing prices for isolated desert camps in the Zagora area. I suspected that the various forms of tented accommodation were inauthentic and hideously overpriced. This place, dedicated to a very specific niche market (astronomers) promised the expansive skies of the desert and some wonderfully arcane fort-like architecture within a few minutes walk of the Dunes de Tinfou. The rooms were large, clean, and very comfortable. The patio faced away from the Tinfou dunes, but that means it was also away from the wind, which blows sand everywhere. There is a bar, and good beer. The staff were extremely caring and kind, especially when I got sick after eating something bad in Zagora. Patrick, the charismatic and inimitable resident astronomer, runs evening classes in star gazing which are interesting for the amateur and the expert alike. The place, however, has an air of dereliction. The internet is almost non-existent, to the extent that the reception staff were unaware of my booking made a week previously, although the owner had responded to me several times by email (from Germany). As with all of Morocco, user reviews are a much more accurate gauge of value than price. Given my three-week experience in the country, I would say this hotel was worthy of four stars as a three star hotel. Likes: Architecture, isolation, the desert experience, the deep night skies
Cons: _Overpriced for what you get, almost no internet
Good 7.9
Pros: Good breakfast, fantastic observatory with lots of associated reference material. Friendly, accessible, helpful staff and proprietor. Lots of maps/advice for trips. Helpful with printing out our flight passes, getting cash and phoned our car rental for us to help sort out an issue.
Cons: Bathrooms could be improved with some extra detailing such as fittings to hold the shower so you could stand under it rather than hold it. Plugs for bath and sinks and nice soap or shower gel. Tagines in evening were good but soup probably came out of a packet so not very interesting.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: The location of this hotel is fantastic. It stands on its own surrounded by stunning scenery with no neighbours except a handful of Berber tents. I’ve not been to a place like it. The staff are welcoming, friendly and attentive, the food is absolutely delicious. Meeting Fritz the owner was a pleasure, I learned more about Morocco in 10 minutes with him than I did for the rest of the entire trip. His star gazing session was both interesting and amusing, his telescopes are impressive. If he suggests the trip with Tarik then take it, once in a lifetime opportunity.
Cons: The decor of the property is dated although this very much adds to the charm. The bathroom facilities leave a little to be desired.
Good 7.9
Pros: The best part- and I think the main draw here- was stargazing with Patrick. We paid 10 euro each for this experience and it was totally worth it. He is knowledgeble and enthusiastic and I think he would have easily stayed out there all night with us if we had wished. As it was, we were frozen after about 2 hours (in December) and had to call it quits finally. Just wonderful. The dunes are small, but if you can't make it to the real desert, this is the next best thing.
Cons: This isn't a 5 star hotel. When you've accepted that, I think you'll find everything pretty acceptable. My only issue was the dinner: it was overpriced for what you get. For 15 euro per person, I would have expected at least complementary water or tea to be served. We stayed in several other places during our holiday and average price for dinner was 10 euros- and that included tea/water. The meal was very average too. Perhaps try your luck in the nearby town for dinner.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The stargazing with the very friendly Patrick. The evening with Patrick was the highlight of our trip to Marokko. We also enjoyed the dinner prepared by the friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was just perfect!
Okay 5.4
Pros: We came here because of the possibility to spend a night on the roof looking at stars. The astronomer who assisted us (Patrick) was very clever, very experienced and able making the matter accessible also to our daughters; he also made his best to allow us seeing some very interesting stuff even if the sky was partly cloudy. So full marks and a big thank you to Patrick! Also the equipment on the roof - telescopes etc - is impressive.
Cons: The hotel and food, on the other hand, are very poor even compared to the Morocco desert standard. Basically it was the worst hotel (really poor furniture and dirty) and dinner (one of the worst tajine) in a two-weeks tour in south Morocco. And the cost was twice the standard! So very bad marks to the hotel and restaurant.
