Service of staff Not possible to get a alcoholic drink after 10pm. (minibar) I arrived late after a long day of work and would have enjoyed a cold beer. The front desk was kind enough to arange 2 drinks for me, but I would have prfered a minibar to avoid the extra trouble
Great location, should be modernised Needs to be brought up-to-date, everything looks dated. Better signposting for car park entrance (difficult to find during the night).
The hotel is situated on a perfect location: at the beach, one minute away from the train station. I stayed in a single room that was small, very small.
Most of the time, the internet doesn't work and when it works, it is very slow. The hotel is not at all suitable for business travellers or anyone who wants to work, write or check emails during the day.
location rooms are too small
Nice hotel at the beach.
This is not a tourist / beach hotel but for business trips, etc. Functional, clean and fine but not designed for anything than a couple of days stay.
Very comfortable beds and well appointed room.Free internet and a very good breakfast.Bicycle storage available and a friendly helpful staff. Our room was too small and we had no view of the sea.
location room very small
Personnel were each& everyone helpful, prompt, informative/ correct and friendly - they smiled & meant it Train station was closed sun at 650 am - no train
Convenience for the beach, grocery store near by, many restaurants and close to the shopping district. no, it was perfectly suited to our needs and very accommodating.
Calm and confort of small appartments Some practical details missing (tablets or attachs for towels) No bath foam/shampoo
beautiful premises, generously, in good taste furnished beautiful kitchen, but no table-ware; no hangers in the bath for towels
We stayed at the same hotel last year, and it was as good as last time. The service is very good. it close too the beach. It is close to Haarlem and Amsterdam. Zandvoort is a lovely little town. The rooms were very comfort. We could sit outside, We will be back next year. The cleaning during our stay could have been better.
A nice and spacious room, hotel close to the beach and close to the center of Zandvoort. The hotel room also has a kitchen, but there were no pots and pans and also no plates and cutlery.
Hofje Van Maas is charming, beautiful, and a great value for the price. We had an amazing time here and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zandvoort. Marianne, the owner, was so nice and hospitable. She even called the airport and tracked down my lost luggage!
Excellent location - close to the beach and to the town. Staff friendly and helpful.
I very pleasant appartment, well maintained and in an excellent central location close to beach and town. The owner was extremely helpful. Its location close 5 mins from express train to Amsterdam was excellent. Breakfast in town superb - arranged by owner. Lack of basics - soap, new towels each day, cutlery in kitchen
Great room. Lot's of space.
Very friendly Staff. Great Area. Very dog friendly with sand dunes and beach near by for the dog. No Bad Points
The view the carpet was dirty, the comfort was poor and it was too expensive for what has been offered
the view of the sea, closeness to Amsterdam it was cold in the room and the carpet was dirty.
CLose to the beach, close to the parking area No airco, bad breakfast service, no drinks availble when reception closed
no pillow cases ,things broken hanging from walls ,some lights didnt work decor very shabby
It is a below average quality hotel and have an excelent location. The hotel needs to be reequiped. It looks old and too used and some of the rooms are not if good conditions
Breakfast, and shower Bar was closed, carpets needed cleaning, television needed a remote and servicing, poor colour.
We liked the location for shops, beach and near train station for going into Amsterdam. The hotel needs upgrading, bedding needs replaced and top covers stained. Balcony dirty. No tea/coffee facilities in room. Expensive for the room.
Just the location close to the beach Pictures of the hotel rooms on the net are minimally 10 years.
Nothing, the room was dirty. Same, the room was dirty.
The hotel benefits of its location and may serve as a good place to stay for hollidays. This hotel in fact, with exception of its price, is budget hotel. It offers no comfort but a bed, it is understaffed whereby the reception desk is usually empty and the breakfast can only start at 8h30. While it may serve its purpose for leasure, it is absolutely inconvenient for business travel.
beeakfast was excellent. room was spotless. walls are paper thin. rude people woke me knockking on their friends door 3 doors down at 2:30 am. it sounded like they might be knocking on my door. their noise continued for over an hour and destroyed my nights sleep.
Easy access to airport Arrived after a very long travel day. Staff was unfriendly, room was fine but sterile.
Clean Uncomfortable bed and the wifi only had a good signal in the lobby. I had a room on the 3rd floor and could not get any reception in my room which was very frustrating
Easy check in and easy to use shuttle to and from the airport. Nice lobby and restaurant. Room was nice, standard. Good value, I would stay here again. McDonald's restaurant a block away, but nothing else. Bathroom not 100% clean, but good enough.
Close to airport and free shuttle to airport. Clean room and friendly staff. Not close to walk to anything.
Close to airport The air conditioning would not turn on unless it was warmer than 18 C outside. This is some weird Dutch cheap money saving tactic that keeps guests warm or outright hot, and at the mercy of what it's doing outside. I paid for the room. Let me control the thermostat.
close ot the airport very basic
Noise from aircraft
the shuttle to the airport was nice My refrigerator in the room did not work and they did not have an ice machine. The airport hotel really wasn't close to the airport. The airport shuttle did not run passed 11:30 pm.
It stayed there just for the night as I had an early flight from the airport the next morning. For that purpose the hotel is fine. The shower was not usable as the pipe was completely broken down so I could not fresh up in the morning. I complained at the reception, but they didn't seem to take me serious at all. This seems to happen more often in this hotel. I'll use another hotel at the airport not next occasions.
Nice room for a good price. Free shuttle to Schiphol made it easy to get to the airport. It's location made it a bit of a process to get to downtown Amsterdam, but it wasn't too bad.
price versus quality
Very pleasant and welcoming lady on reception. Made us feel valued. Good breakfast buffet with a wide variety of choice.Room very clean with neat bathroom plus excellent sea views of Zandfoort beach. Bath needs anti slip material in the bottom, could be a danger for some people.
The breakfast GREAT,the in room refrigerator very useful,
Location The plastic glasses in the bathroom were not refreshed, the biscuits were not refreshed
sea view, bar, location. receptionist could not reccomend a restaurant
the breakfast wasn't too expensive and the selection of food was good and of good quality. parking was free which was an unexpected bonus. our room, although it had a sea view, was next to the elevators and we were woken up several times by guests coming in from a late night (+1am etc) and talking loudly. the soundproofing could have been better, but i imagine our room could also have been better since the hotel wasn't full.
The friendly staff
Friendly staaf, rooms clean and confortable, location.
the beds are good, the buffet breakfast is excellent, spacious rooms the "smokers-room" is located right at the entrance of the hotel, this is unacceptable. During my stay one of the elevators was broke, this was inconvenient, but incidental.
Nothing pstands out The stuffy smell
The staff at this hotel are great! Everybody went out of their way to help!It is located very near to the beach. The breakfast buffet was super! I would give them a five star rating! NO
The hotel was very close to the beach, good breakfast.....basiclly you can't expect more for that price and the price was very, very good I think they don't like families with children...what's more the hotel is not prepared for families with small children. I was tehre with my 1,5 year daughter and it was a nightmare to go out and in several times a day with a pram...I didn't like the fact tham my room was in another building then the reception and breakfast room.
Colorful, very nice staff, felt welcome. Excellent breakfast. No
The location, staff, and hotel was great. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic and they have done a wonderful job with creating a nice, laid-back beach atmosphere.
Very friendly staff, good continental breakfast, nothing apeared to be any trouble. Helpfull with directions, packed breakfast for early starters. Nothing to complain about what so ever
It was a very nice hotel and the staff were all very nice and did everything to make us comfortable. The single rooms were small, but you don't go to the beach to stay in your room. I do plan on going back. I had a single room and it didn't have a toilet inside the room, we had to share one. I must say they did give us a rob to ware if we had to get up in the middle of the night.
the people were very friendly no there was nothing what i didn't like
Very bright, cheerful and individual decoration. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast in a nice room. Not a modern chain hotel! Room was quite small
Very comfortable. Bright and cheerful decoration. Good "Continental" breakfast. Close to the centre. Convenient parking
location was great - near to beach, shops and restaurants. Free parking on street.
How big thr room was owner very nice Bathroom smelled a bit funny
Room was large, clean, had a mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities. Owner was friendly and helpful. Enjoyable and relaxing stay.
I thought the place was excellent, the owner was really cool and are room was amazing, did'nt want to leave it.
We had the Junior Suite. Very clean, bathroom recently renovated, beds were perfect for a good sleep. Staff very! friendly and helpful. -/-
the suitability for our low budget needs........the courtesy and friendliness of the staff member....... the very small off street parking area was occupied by a large van with apparently no connection with the hotel!
The staff where very nice and the location was great. Room 2 was quite nosie from the room above as it's an old house
excellent choice! i tried both rooms and small house at 100mt from the hotel.the former are large and confortable, while the house is so lovely to look fabulous even.the stay was wonderful, not only for the beautiful place, but also for the friendliness and helpfulness of the owner. i highly recommend it nothing
I was in Zandvoort to cover an Auto Racing meeting at the local track.
The rooms were very nicely decortaed - simple and to the point. Beds amazingly soft and everything you needed for a long weekend break. NA
Very cozy nice hotel near the beech, had an old touch which I liked.
Location, breakfest, owners cats Price was not what bookink reservation was
Nothing special The stairs to the upper floor. The situation of the bath room. No change of bedding and towels. Exactly the same breakfest every day. Had to ask for soap. Parking problems.
Free wireless internet access Car parking - there was none on site as advertised - local parking was very difficult Bed - One of beds was a pull out sofa bed - unfortunately it was broken - and hence VERY uncomfortable - eventually propped it up with a tin and book!! En-suite - no extractor fan, shower broken (had to hold spray head), On a tour of 3 countries this was the most expensive and yet poorest quality hotel
Location. Bathroom. In Holland German speaking personel.
good value, the breakfast, the relaxed atmosphere,, homely and old fashioned, and it appealed to us
A very nice family run Hotel. Located in Zandvoort on Sea which is beautiful and 20 minutes away from Amsterdam by train. Hotel was close to station, shops, bank and beach. The owner/receptionist is friendly and speaks excellent English. As a business traveller 8:30 breakfast was too late for me and could not be moved. Not a problem if you get up a little later though. Thw free wi-fi signal was too weak to be connected, a disadvantage for a business traveller. The room was the most basic I have had but I chose it.
`Very friendly and welcoming staff. Excellent breakfast which set me up for the day. Clean and tidy room. Just a few minutes walk to the beach and close to the railway station.
Close to shops.Acceptable breakfast.Cute lady serves breakfast. Not overwelcoming place for single white male traveller.Bed to saggy and room a little stuffy.Got into trouble for walking into back garden, which lady said was a private area. Why i wasnt told this or why no sign stating this.Shame but looked like the nicest part of the place.Quite place but stuffy atmosphere.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, close to the beach, I couldn't ask for more.
Great location at a good price. Located just across the street from the beach. Within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, and the train station. Free parking with a permit from the hotel which worked out well since we didn't need the car the whole week there.
Wifi in reception and in some rooms. Availability of cards to park free in the street (in summer it could be difficult). Very nice people. They provided a very comfortable baby cot. Breakfast could be improved with fruit.
very friendly staff great location for beach, we had the triple room where the owner allowed us to park our car outside the room at back of hotel.
friendly people, close to beach
The breakfast is outstanding, a lot of choice and very good service
Location Room was very dirty.
Nothing very much The hotel was extremely dirty and in need of a good refurbishment/ renovation
Right by the beach access and pedestrian zone. Great Breakfast. Super nice staff (Owners). Within 15K of many family attractions. Hotel had good sugestions for activities.
The lady who owned the Hotel was very interested in making sure that we all were comfortable and even changed our rooms to ensure comfort. She also was helpful in helping us get to Amsterdam on the train. The Hotel was a nice place to sleep after a busy day touring Amsterdam. The downstairs triple room was cold and cramped! They let us change rooms with no problem.
friendly staff, great location, right price and descent breakfast. The family room we had (#34) was very large. rooms were separated by a door, so that was nice. beds a bit soft - we were right on the road, so the road noise was a bit much.
The hotel was right on the water with great sunrises. A bit run down but ok for just a quick night stay.
Clean, newly renovated, friendly sfaff, awesome lighting. There is a step up into the bathroom that we hurt ourselves on.
Great breakfast buffet and the ownere was very helpful and always happy to give advice on things to see and do and using public transport to get around.
stayed at watertoren as Amsterdam hotels of similar price were a little seedy - good move. The trains run late and my room had 24 hour access and was self sufficient as it had a shower, fridge and kettle. A great base for places like Haarlem and Amsterdam - last train back is after midnight. Staff were very friendly - loved my stay there :) no complaints
The flat is very good. This hotel is well located. The manager is very nice.
the managers were friendly and went out of their way to look after your needs and make you comfortable. They recommended restaurants and sights to see in the area and helped with instructions to reach destinations that we were visiting. I would strongly recommend this hotel for people who like to go to beaches as they are only 1 block away from the fabulous sandy beach. Parking is available at the pension. Wonderful breakfasts, clean room, beautiful views from windows and friendly staff.
The pension is located just one block away from the beach promenade and we had the luck that our room had an "ocean view" (in front of us there were houses that blocked the view but ib between two houses there was an open piece of land and our view of the ocean was good). The owner and his wife are one the friendliest and most engaged people we have ever met in our trips and provided us with a great service beyond expectations. The breakfast might seem expensive (8,50 €) but it is not: good variety of cheeses, bread and cold cuts and the nice atmosphere are worth the money, especially when all eating places in Zandvoort are so expensive. And every two days they serve omelettes. We will go back without a doubt. The decoration of the room was too "decorative", but it's a taste thing. The coffee served at breakfast is not so good, but also not so bad.
charming owners, provided a very warm welcome - friendly room, with excellent facilities, including fridge and coffee machine - free w-lan - very close to the beach
Real close to the station. Great place to go to A'dam in combination with the seaside in Zandvoort. Breakfast ok. Staff very helpfull.Good value for money. Nope.
the kindness of the owner
Very easy access (and clearly visible) from the railway station - excellent for rail travellers. With this easy access and two trains an hour to Amsterdam, it is a realistic option to use Zandvoort as a base.
Close to train station, easy access to city and no noise from trains
Very friendly and helpful staff; good breakfast; very convenient for railway station, beach, and local shops/restaurants. Room decor very basic, but clean comfortable bed, bathroom etc.
The hotel is few steps from railway station for your trip to Amsterdam. We were appreciating high quality of internet connection in our room. Rooms and toilet are so small. Wardrobe was without a shelf.
Nice staff .Nice place old fashoned. Missed fresh fruit and vegetables breakfast. Clean but simple. Close to parking. The Wifi did not reach all rooms
Helpful owner. Comfortable and quiet hotel. Next to the railway station and not far from the beach. It is a very convenient basis to visit Amsterdam (30 minutes from central station, 20 Euros for a day trip / 2 adults + 2 kids). Good breakfast. Free parking around with the resident card lended by the hotel.
We liked the friendliness of the staff. It's a great family hotel. The room was clean ... the breakfast was great. Good value for money!
I only fort the hotel was good as it was very near the beach and it was cheap . The hotel was very basic it did not even have Tea Or Coffee making facilitys in the Room's , The TV did not even work right and the Hotel was very old fashioned,
Pleasant stay in a simple hotel. The TV in the room was very small, but that hardly mattered as it didn't receive a single program clearly.
The very friendly welcome and nice owners of the hotel was a big plus.
The entire hotel smelt of sewerage, poor quality beds, poor quality breakfast, it was badly in need of refurbishment, would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Very disappointing
booked for 5 days could only stay 1 night, on arrival front door was locked, very very small room, not clean, never again. did,nt like anything about this hotel.
Great location. Friendly, helpful staff Very warm on top floor due to stained glass dome. Room was difficult to completely cool off. Pillows somewhat too thick.
right downtown close to all shopping and restaurants quite noisy at night, and no parking nearby
The front desk staff was exceptionally helpful in making suggestions for activities and dining as well as in assisting with the arrangements. The hotel was also immaculate, and housekeeping was well-supervised in ensuring that the rooms were properly serviced and stocked. Complementary fruit and free wireless access and printing were much appreciated amenities. The breakfast was not included and was excessively priced.
Quiet room at the back, comfortable beds. Slight, somewhat musty smell in the room and corridor during our stay.
Spacious room; helpful staff who would go out of their way to do things; central position A glass door to the bathroom was weird; room a bit chilly at night
Location, comfortable bed, excellent value for money Room door not sound proof -> could hear noise in the hallway at times
comfort of the beds, but besides the good beds, it was a very regular hotel room (the term deluxe twin room gives you another idea) smoking hotel staff outside the hotel (for the entrance)
Comfort and quietness in the centre of Haarlem.
excellent location - on edge of groat market. quality of rooms excellent difficulty in finding without a map and no private parking - although there is a public car park next door.
right downtown haarlem no resturant. no way to unload your car. very difficult to find
staff very good all was good
Was able to check in at 11.00 am, asked for an extension cord which was in my room on my return from shopping. Beautifull stained glass ceiling on the top floor. Umbrella's at the exit in case of rain. Loved it!
good place to stay the location is not so optimal if you need to travel without a car
Staff were friendly and helpful. The room (a superior) was a good size and very comfortable.
Parking is no problem due to the parking places below the hotel but it is very expensive (35 euros per week) if you only stay for 2 days. I fail to see why a hotel can not get a price reduction if they really try.
Proffessionalism and courtesy of Carlton Square Hotel Staff Very comfortable and clean bed
All the facilities good breakfast with chefs to cook on order.
Comfortable room, friendly staff
Quick check in and check out; quiet and quite central to inner city; good parking facilities
The hotel was clean, the bed was fantastic and I liked the fact that UK plugs and TV channels were available in the room. It was well-placed for Haarlem station and the buffet breakfast was very enjoyable, offering a good selection of continental foods. We were excited to learn that there was a jacuzzi in the room but unfortunately this did not work. Also, I was disappointed that there was no iron and ironing board in the room.
Location and complimentary mini bar. Front desk staff were very friendly and offered good advice on the local area. breakfast was expensive (19.50 Euro per person) for an average meal.
I liked the location in Haarlem. Walking distance to everywhere. Nice big comfy rooms and great breakfast Distance from Amsterdam and station. The room had some sort of underfloor heating which wouldn't switch off.
Proximity to bus stops. Location with respect to the Centrum. Nighttime food is hard to find.
The place of the hotel was excellent but the stay were we slept was not so fine, it was in a small house outside the hotel.
very nice place and everything there is nothing to say
Good breakfast, great location, free parking. I can understand why this hotel is full while so many others are closed for the winter.
sea front location
I enjoyed the sunroom looking out to the Ocean. Their opinion about Americans isn't all that high. I found humor in this because if it wasn't for the Americans' pushing the German's out of their country and lending a helping hand they would be speaking only German. I just happen to be a proud American who knows the difference between the Dutch and Deutsch language.
Nice seaside location. Easy to reach. Friendly staff.
Hotel staff is good. My room was outside(in the viile). I have many bagages I must take a walk.
First medium priced hotel where there were shelves in the bathroom and the shower fixtures worked properly. The breakfast was extensive and yummy.
the location was wonderful with parking as well. I had a nice room, a bit outdated, but very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was from 8am, but I went earlier, and they were happy to serve me. The toilet was a classic old german style, which i found rather amusing. Otherwise a nice place.
Flexible and friendly owner / manager - eg willing to provide early breakfast On Sat night it is near disco on beach so a bit noisy
convenient to airport - lovely dining room and delicious food. it was a little further from the airport than we thought and we were very isolated.
Late dinner, early breakfast, airport shuttel Airplane nois in the morning
quality of your dining facilities and quality iof the food
The Quad rooms are really huge and very comfortable. More than sufficient for our family of 2A and 3 C. The free bus shuttle between the hotel and airport is very convenient and runs on time. Reception staff were very helpful. They let me use their PC and allowed me to take a few pages printout. Rooms had no kettle. The walk from reception to the rooms using two separate lifts was a bit tiresome. No help from the hotel for this.
Due to shuttle from Airport the queue for check in was bad - 10 mins
The food in the restaurant, the wonderful and welcoming open fire and the very high standard of interior design which was very stylish. We have stayed at this hotel over 20 times both on business and pleasure and love it. Despite this however the Manager was unable to offer any form of refund when we explained our Son and his friends would not be joining us for his 18th Birthday weekend as Birmingham Airport had been closed and all flights cancelled. a little understanding would have softened the blow as we were all devastated, especially as his Grandmother, to whom he was very close had died 4 weeks earlier and we were all really looking forward to a wonderful break. This lack of flexibility is my only critisism of what is otherwise an excellent hotel.
Free shuttle to the airport. The rug was stained and one of the upholstered chair was soiled. Also, no coffee pot or supplies in the room.
Comfort and value
I was impressed by the level of service from the personnel. I had forgotten my BB in the hotel , so I called in five minutes they called me back to say that they had found it.
It was quiet and convenient.
A comfortable hotel with friendly staff, close to the centre. A little aged and perhaps in need of a revamp. Still uses blankets and sheets instead of duvet and cover.
Location - near train station, so Amsterdam was only 15 min away and very easily accessible. Good breakfast buffet and helpful staff.
we enjoyed our stay at the hotel staff are friendly and helpful, thank you
This place is right across the street from the train station. It was so simple to get around. I had to go to The Hague and to Amsterdam as well and was just perfect. Bit of a walk into the Grote Markt but if the weather is nice and you're mobile, it's easy. Shower is massive too. Breakfast was one of the best so far for me on my trip. Not sure what the deal was if it had to do with the construction across the street of the new terminal, but while trying to fall back asleep at 5AM, I noticed that when cars drove pas in front of the hotel (I was in room 26) I could feel my bed shake a bit when the car would drive over a bump. Probably not a good thing. Also, the room felt slightly slanted away from the road. If you're super fussy, these things might throw you off. Busy weekend so a bit expensive for what you got. Plus Wi-Fi wasn't free but there's an internet cafe a few doors down which is way cheaper.
Very good location, staff, breakfast is very reach, new and clean rooms and facilities. no
Easy and good service from hotel staff
The desk staff was very courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. They not only made our stay at the hotel more enjoyable, they also made our stay in Haarlem more enjoyable.
hotel very convenient for bus and train stations, polite helpful staff. room spacious and comfortable with tea and coffee supplied. breakfast very basic, hotplate for frying eggs on buffet table at breakfast, not very practical when busy
Our second stay at Lion D'Or for comfort and location. Perfect location across from Haarlem station for arriving by train or trips into Amsterdam, Zandvoort (beach), or other rail departures. Also located right up the street is the express bus #300 starting point that whisks you comfortably to the Schiphol departure terminal for 4 euros. Great base for Haarlem and A'dam. Real good breakfast buffet included. Loved the air conditioning. FrieGood local and regional beers available in the bar reasonably priced. Willy Wortel's a half block away. Scenic 10 minute walk to great market and the big church. All-in-all Lion D'Or is the best choice of Haarlem hotels for users of public transport
The city of Haarlem itself is very pleasant, with a historic old centre with outstanding 16th-17th-18th century architecture, combined with an abundance and wide range of shops and restaurants. As a gateway to the city of Amsterdam, the Lion d'Or Hotel is also excellent - it is a three minute walk to the platform of the Haarlem train station, which provides service every 10 minutes to Amsterdam Central Station which takes only 15 minutes of train travel to reach.
Roomy and relaxed I was unable to get any food whatsoever fate arriving back at 11.15pm one evening. The hotel must be ablt to cater for residents at least up to 12 midnight
It was a place to sleep... It wasn't clean, the grounds were horrible (weeds, tall grass), it wasn't in a very good area.
The greeting at the front desk -reception was extremely professional and very helpful with local details such as restaurant information in the local area etc.... the room was very sufficient ,clean and provided all needs. We chose breakfast in the room which was just fantastic.
Location easy to find, vast parking, vast room, WiFi, good restaurant, bus connection to Haarlem downtown (10 mn). Room a little noisy (corridor), distance hotel entrance to room.
comfy bed tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms would be a good idea
The staff were always delightful and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly especially at the front desk. I like a kettle and the ability to make tea in my room but I appreciate. This is not a European custom!
The Location The room had not been cleaned and was very very dusty and the carpets had not been hoovered
comfortable, clean room internet not good
We had a comfort plus room with a breakfast. Room was fab, super comfortable, fresh, clean and the bed was divine. Breakfast was a banquet with a huge choice if foods Inc muffins, many breads, various egg dishes and meats. Yummie
The hotel is in a great location and overall a nice hotel - this was our 3rd stay. The room was okay - a little expensive for what we got. Also, on my reservation form it said there was a hair dryer in the room (so I did not bring mine) and there was not. No extra pillows or blankets for the chilly night. It boasted a great balcony w/view and all we saw was construction back there. Could not find a remote control for the television, had to keep getting up to change channel/volume.
The kindness and concern of the reception staff. We needed a late check-out due to difficult circumstances and it was given with no problem or extra charge.
Stayed here for 4 days on a social visit to Amsterdam. Found the room to be very clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities within the room were good and refilled daily as well as a small fridge. The bathroom was spacious and very clean, shower was fantastic. TV was good and with a good variety of channels in several languages. Free Wi-Fi in the hotel was also good. Despite being so close to the airport we found the sound from the planes close to non-existent (room was at the back) free shuttle bus to the airport was very convenient for getting the train into the centre. Looking to take another trip and will definitely stay at this hotel again!
