The planned resort community of Nuevo Vallarta begins just north of Puerto Vallarta, amongst the super-yachts of Marina Vallarta. From here it stretches north along Banderas Bay's four miles of white-sand beach to the town of Bucerias. Holidaymakers kick-back in exclusive hotels that front the sands, enjoying direct beach access and panoramic ocean views. Inland, luxury villas mix with world class golf courses, easy shopping, and dining and entertainment options. North of Bucerias, quieter beaches and traditional communities await exploration.

Planning Nuevo Vallarta Holidays

Nuevo Vallarta holidays can be enjoyed at any time of year with temperatures averaging 25°C. December to February is the driest and busiest season. The ocean is warmest from February to June, but prices are lowest in August till September. Nuevo Vallarta is quite spread out so make use of regular buses and taxis to get around. Stress-free driving makes renting a car a good option for more freedom. It's a 30 minute drive to Puerto Vallarta's airport, and Mexico is six hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT-6).

Activities on Nuevo Vallarta Holidays

For those who wish to explore outside of their world-class resort, there's plenty for families to see and do in the area. Kids will get a kick out of Aquaventuras Park where they can race down slides and river runs as well as watching the exciting dolphin and seal shows. From December to March, tours are available to see Humpback Whales on their annual migration to the Banderas Bay, and from June to November hotel guests can release baby sea turtles right in front of their resorts. The open-air market in Bucerias is the place to shop for traditional Mexican handicrafts including art from the indigenous Huichol people. Take a boat trip to the Marieta Islands where abundant wildlife and clear water snorkeling await. Break from sunbathing and take a trip to the hustle and bustle of nearby Puerto Vallarta.
